Arrive and immediately relax in this stunning little wilderness cabin with barn, orchard, English country garden, wilderness, Japanese garden, beautiful and pristine trout stream and natural spring with two Japanese bridges behind the cabin. The cabin is true to the real wilderness cabins of old: It doesn't have electricity or running water. You can come and unplug and unwind. Read a good book and go for long walks. Renters have easy access to two beautiful full bathrooms with warm showers only 200 feet from the cabin. At the main house, you can connect to Wi-Fi and plug in to electrical outlets. The cabin easily sleeps three with room for more if anyone is willing to sleep on a mattress on the floor. It's like luxurious camping! The cabin has a large cooler to keep food (you bring the ice!), a gas grille on the porch for cooking and even an antique claw-foot tub on the porch if you want to take a bath outdoors! (There is a gas heater for the water right next to the tub.) This cabin offers a relaxing and interesting experience for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle. It sits in the middle of the Manistee National Forest with plenty of bird song and sounds of nature to lull you into a relaxed mood.

Ferns, Teepee, chickens, and friendly atmosphere made this place a peaceful way to spend some time outdoors. Thanks Robert for sharing your space with us.
Seclusion that is close to the rest of the world. Robert’s property allows you to truly unplug and defragment. There is plenty of shade and lots of space between other vacationers. Robert himself is a gracious and fun host. He makes you feel as if you are his personal guest. We adore him!
The cabin was perfect amd quiet just wjat we needed
Our second stay and it never disappoints! Will keep coming back to enjoy the amazing scenery, chill vibes, and awesome hospitality. Rob is an amazing host and we love it here!!
Robert has made such and incredible space hidden away in the woods. The cabin is cozy, the land is beautiful, and you’ll find tiny wonders everywhere you look. We really enjoyed getting to know Rob, and we are looking forward to coming back.
Beautifully grounding and peaceful weekend in the Wilderness Cabin. We will absolutely be returning with family and friends.
We had an amazing time at this little cabin. The location was seriously enchanting with all kinds of cool details. My kids loved the chickens and cat running around. The cabin was clean and really cozy. The pot belly stove and easy to access wood kept us warm even in mid-October. The close proximity to Grand Rapids makes this an easy accessible escape from reality. Our host was very attentive and pleasant. We plan to return ASAP.
Beautiful, artistic, centering, and a gracious host to boot. A super great get away from Grand Rapids. We will be back many time. Just a gem!
Its beautiful here and the cabin is cozy. The space cant really be described in words. The surrounding nature is gorgeous and it is clear that the host really put a lot of time and effort into every garden and every detail.
A couple notes:
-There are a few bowls, plates, and sets of silverware and a couple frying pans and pots here (which now that I know next time I won't have to lug along as much stuff)
-The seasonal road to get in is a big hardcore, but take it slow and you will be fine. I successfully drove my Honda Fit which is maybe 6" off the ground.
I cant wait to return!
