Arrive and immediately relax in this stunning little wilderness cabin with barn, orchard, English country garden, wilderness, Japanese garden, beautiful and pristine trout stream and natural spring with two Japanese bridges behind the cabin.  The cabin is true to the real wilderness cabins of old:  It doesn't have electricity or running water. You can come and unplug and unwind.  Read a good book and go for long walks.  Renters have easy access to two beautiful full bathrooms with warm showers only 200 feet from the cabin.  At the main house, you can connect to Wi-Fi and plug in to electrical outlets.  The cabin easily sleeps three with room for more if anyone is willing to sleep on a mattress on the floor.  It's like luxurious camping!  The cabin has a large cooler to keep food (you bring the ice!), a gas grille on the porch for cooking and even an antique claw-foot tub on the porch if you want to take a bath outdoors!  (There is a gas heater for the water right next to the tub.)  This cabin offers a relaxing and interesting experience for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle. It sits in the middle of the Manistee National Forest with plenty of bird song and sounds of nature to lull you into a relaxed mood.

A great stay in a unique place! We definitely could have brought more candles/flashlights but it was a prefect place for a rustic fall getaway!

Really cool spot in the woods, especially if you are into art. Host is courteous and very relaxed. Definitely a roll with whatever's happening kinda place. Cleaner cabin and bathroom setup would have improved the stay. On the fence about going back, because there is something awesome about the place. would only recommend to friends that are down to go with the flow.

The property is lush and beautiful, with large wild gardens full of native blooms, bumbling bees and hummingbirds. The trout stream was indeed, pristine and we spent a lot of time with our kids and dogs out there. It is a short walk from the cabin which was great for having little ones in tow. The cabin is far enough away from the main house to feel private. The chickens hung out with us on the porch, which was breezy and set up for easy outdoor cooking and dining. A hose with cold well water runs from the house up to the porch, which was extra convenient. We took a great hike through the woods which had nice clearly marked trails. Robert was responsive and helpful.

What a beautiful, peaceful, serene place to stay. I will return again, again, and again. From wandering the forest to sitting by the stream there's so much to do and enjoy. Forest bathing at its finest

Robert has a beautiful property, and after reading the reviews I found it lived up to everything that was described. We enjoyed the nearby trails, gardens, and of course the cabin. Some other campers were there while we visited, which provided a friendly, communal feel while still feeling like a peaceful getaway.

This was one of the most unique and gratifying stays in a while. The setting was so peaceful and rejuvenating. Rob built a beautiful place - incredible architecture and decor everywhere. He was so caring and made sure we had the best stay. It was cool to see other renters in the rooms and camp areas but I enjoyed the privacy of the cabin when I wanted to have some quiet time. Everyone was so kind and accommodating- they took us on a river trip!
