I loved the campsite , I was the only one there, except for The host family that lived up the hill away from the site.
I walked down the hill found a flat spot by the spring fed creek that let out the Muskegon river “very nice”.
I took my longboard along so I could board the bike trail that is right next to the property. The small town Hersey is 2.2 miles away which has a restaurant/ bar, gas station , and limited groceries.
There is fresh water and electricity up by the house they let me use to plug my stuff in.
There is a bench along the Muskegon river with a canopy that is nice for sitting.
If you arrive via a car keep in mind a big hill you will have to carry your gear down and back up. “Not a big deal for me but I can see where some might have a problem.
I had a great experience and will be back

Nice quiet place bordered by a river and bike trail. The host was friendly and helpful. Its a beautiful property with lots of nice secluded nooks and crannies. My only recommendation is that because the site is close to water, make sure to bring bug spray.
Sarah's land is gorgeous! Not a private setting because of the river, but definitely quiet and peaceful. The lean-to near the river made us feel comfy from the start and Sarah was a great, responsive host.
We arrived late but the low light didn't take away from the beauty of the property. All amenities were very clean and the trails were maintained but not overly so. The river was gorgeous, the meadows were amazing, and the natural wildlife was awome to observe. Sarah herself was a phenomenal hostess. We hadn't used this site before and weren't familiar with Hipcamp norms or etiquette, but Sarah made this an amazing first experience. She was kind, helpful, and respectful. We never once felt like we were camping on someone's property, but rather in the woods. We had ample privacy but never felt unwelcomed. Would definitely go back or recommend a visit to.

Our trip was super last minute and this place exceeded our expectations. Sarah was so nice and helpful!! It was a very chill environment and exactly a perfect getaway spot.

Thanks Olivia! Happy to host you anytime!
Such a great location for a bicyclist! Right on the Pete Marquette , which you can ride to Reed city , and then catch the white pine trails!
Location is everything .
Absolutely beautiful and pretty private. The stream that runs through the camping area is wonderful and refreshing. I would go there again anytime!
A scenic campsite overlooking the river and close by to the Pere Marquette trail. Sarah was friendly and welcoming. Plenty of privacy. There are a variety of campsite available, some wooded, some grassy, some by the riverside. It’s traversed by a ice-cold spring, babbling as it makes its way down through the property. It was enjoyable to see the kayaks, canoes, and tubes pass by and there is plenty of opportunity for swimming in the warmer river, including a natural sandy beach. We saw others using an old train bridge as a jumping off spot into the river, but didn’t partake ourselves. Beautiful skies and an easy breeze along the river at night. We would stay again, especially if we planned to bring our bicycles to explore more of the nearby trail.

Thanks for the kind review David! I love the spot you camped in and I'm glad you enjoyed it too. Thanks for pointing out the hill to the creek and river; important information for folks packing lots of gear or with mobility issues. There are more easily accessible parts of the yard on the bluff, near the little library and in the pines. We plan to make the land more accessible to everyone as soon as we can. Welcome home anytime!
