This is a great spot if you have an RV, or if you want to pitch your tent next to your car.
The property was originally an old Finnish homestead. You can see remnants of where farm fields once were surrounded by forests. Most of the eight acres are fairly flat with a combination of wooded areas and meadows. I've mowed trails throughout the property for you to explore.

The camping space is tucked away amid conifers and we were serenaded by birds in the morning and evening. The arrangement of a trailer close by worked well for us as we had access to a warm shower and a way to clean dishes. The location in Baraga is great for exploring abundant waterfalls and nature preserves. David is a thoughtful and communicative host. We will definitely be back!
This was a beautiful and well-maintained site. We had the whole place to ourselves and really enjoyed the peace. David is the perfect host. He went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our stay on his property and in the Keweenaw Peninsula.
David has super nice mowed fields and trails for a low-key, private camping experience. David himself is super kind and thoughtful, allowing campers to use his trailer restroom and shower, fill up well water from his outdoor spigot, have bonfires in his fire pit, and peruse his guidebooks. He even encouraged us to load up on the wild blackberries fruiting along his trails!
What a charming place to camp!
David has a beautiful property with a wonderful mix of mown lawn areas for camping, trees, and mown trails through the beautiful plants, flowers, berries (!) and grasses all throughout his acreage.
We had a peaceful evening and my children *loved* picking blackberries (David provided them little baggies for the venture) in the blackberry patch.
We would definitely stay here again.

Katie, thank you for choosing Camp Kismet and bring such positive energy. It was great meeting your family and hearing about your adventures across the country. All of you will treasure the memories. I wish you the best as you continue east, may the wind be at your back. With gratitude, David
We contacted David as we were biking from Copper Harbor to Marquette, looking for a place to pitch our tent. David responded quickly and gave us detailed instructions on places to pitch our tent, shower/bathroom accommodations, and supplies to build a campfire. We were very appreciative of a shower after a day of biking and enjoyed hanging out around the campfire. We met David the next morning - super quality guy! He made sure our stay was enjoyable and asked for feedback on how to improve. Overall, highly recommend visiting David & his adorable pup Bianca at their peaceful little piece of the UP.

David’s land is just lovely with paths mown through the trees and meadows. My campsight was tucked between birch trees, evergreens, and the start of his vineyard. David is such a warm host, and shared his dog with me for an evening by the campfire. Trailer toilet/shower facilities are clean and adequate. I would definitely stay here again and look forward to seeing how David improves an already lovely setting as he intends.

Christy, it was wonderful meeting you, and thank you for the cookies!

Dani, I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay despite our downpour your first day. And congratulations on your fishing trip. You are always welcome. Safe travels, David
