Camping with animals
We did tent camping and had an amazing experience! The hosts were friendly and so helpful with ideas for food and places to explore. It was a new experience to be with horses and goats and it was charming! The farm is very well kept and clean. The enclosed patio was a great getaway for when rain came and allowed us charge our devices and grab coffee or a cold drink. They thought of all the details and sell all the needed items in addition to camp T-shirts, sweatshirts and goat milk soap that they make on property. Would definitely use again if we plan to be in the area, but maybe try out their other accommodations for a fun experience. Thank you guys for providing such a great experience!
It was a pleasure staying at Camp Dubonette! Curt and Tim were very thoughtful and accommodating hosts- made us feel right at home. Beautiful property and perfect location between Sleeping Bear Dunes & Traverse City.
Hidden gem for camping
We thoroughly enjoyed tent camping during our 3 night stay at Tent Camping In The Woods. Our gracious hosts were very responsive to our pre-trip questions and made sure our stay was perfect. Hot coffee was ready for us every morning. Plenty of firewood is provided. Camping sites are tucked in the woods. Short walk to toilets and shower located in quaint horse barn. We'll be back!
This place was beyond our expectations! First off the hosts were so nice and helpful. We were immediately greeted and given a tour of the property. They had a cute little camp store where we spent too much money, but it was totally worth it! The sites themselves were very cute and we really appreciated how they all were based off of differ folk lore. We loved that the property had a little scavenger hunt of law gnomes that was super fun to try and find. The community areas were very well kept and nice. I don’t think we had any complaints at all with this place. We are definitely planning on coming back with our friends and families!
Everything was clean, well done, welcoming, and family friendly. Tim and Kurt were accommodating and helpful and really great with kids (we were camping with 4 kids 5 and under). Feeding the farm animals and exploring the grounds were favorites for the kiddos. The location is a great jumping off point if you want to go into Traverse or explore Sleeping bear dunes etc. We would definitely return and recommend to others.
Amazing in every way!
This was a perfect stay. Tim was super welcoming and generous with his gorgeous property. He met us upon our arrival to show us around and was genuinely friendly throughout our entire stay. The grounds at Camp Dubonnett are simply beautiful. The campsites are quiet and secluded, but everything you need is close by. The restrooms are clean, the complimentary (tip welcomed) coffee is strong, and there are snacks and other camping needs for sale, should you forget anything. The farm animals and the game room (equipped with art supplies, games, etc.) make this a great stay for kids! My only complaint is that I wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks you for everything!!!
