Although the farmhouse dates to 1812, the current incarnation of the land owes its form and spirit to the vision of the former owner, who was entranced by the black currants, native highbush blueberries, ponds, wetlands and woods. As she established a working berry farm - expanding existing crops and adding new ones - she managed the fields and forest with the intertwined goals of cultivating fruit, fostering biodiversity and ensuring conservation - with particular emphasis on providing habitat for native birds and pollinating insects. Today, Bug Hill Farm consists of three acres of cultivated berries, including: raspberries, blueberries, elderberry, aronia, gooseberry, and currants, and 38 acres of forest, including ten acres of early successional woodland replete with wild blueberries, birds, butterflies, bumblebees and a host of beneficial bugs. In our on-site commercial kitchen we craft and bottle our nutritious and delicious products using our berry crops, other local berries, and raw honey or organic sugar - with NO added water or preservatives. We sell our products at our own farm shop, local farmers' markets, groceries and specialty food shops, and on-line at bughillfarm.org

Paradise
All the good stuff mentioned in the other reviews are true! This is the most remote feeling I have experienced with car camping. The property is A slice of ecosystem heaven. I would love to spend more time here. I saw more creatures in this weekend than I have an all of my other camping trips combined. While it rained we stayed dry picking raspberries in the greenhouse. The camp toilet was great and yet we also had access to modern plumbing, a coffee pot and a place to charge our lanterns and batteries. So many trails to explore. I found sunrise an excellent time to watch the beavers around their lodge. Saw a buck swim across the pond. Everyday I saw new creatures. We also visit the magic wings butterfly Conservatory which I recommend. We enjoyed exploring the three sisters sanctuary that is in Goshen. We went over to Shelburne Falls to see the bridge of flowers, the glacial potholes and for shopping and dining. Also made a stop in Holyoke Massachusetts to see the dinosaur foot prints that are still in the same spot that they were at the time of their creation. This is a beautiful area of which we only scratched the surface. It was worth the six hour trip from Pennsylvania. Lots of reasons to return.

Looking forward to next year!
More beautiful than words can ever express! Seriously! Another great weekend at Bug Hill Farm this past weekend. Sadly we only reserved one weekend this year and I'm regretting it BIG TIME! Bug Hill is by far our favorite place to camp. It's so peaceful. It's perfect! We had a wonderful weekend! No rain either yayy! The upgrades we enjoyed this year were the coffee maker! We needed a full pot for 4 adults so that was great to have. The footpath from the parking spot to campsite has been redone and it's so much better now!! Site was spotless, barn was clean, everything was WONDERFUL! Thank you again Charlotte and Sam.. yall are the best! Thank you for letting us bring Gizmo again too!

Relaxing at the Berry farm
We enjoyed another year at the beautiful Berry farm. Sam and Charlotte are such gracious hosts and provide everything needed (fridge/firewood/drinkable water/ etc) for a relaxing stay. The site was very clean with hammocks already hanging and plenty of space to set up our tents. Thank you to their entire family for helping to create another memorable experience for us.

Love Bug Hill!
This site is so beautiful and the hosts are amazing. This was our second stay here and we definitely be back! The town and surrounding area is super nice and welcoming. We went to the farmer’s market and a couple of the lakes nearby.

Lovely spot!
Lovely campsite by the pond! It felt intimate and special. Lots of frogs, a beaver, and birds around. Their check-in check-out was smooth and the bathroom/shower was super clean and nice. Great hosts and a great location!
