I would highly recommend Rick's site to anyone looking to camp near the Chesapeake Bay. The land was beautiful, the park ranger was very helpful, and everything was easily accessible. We rented kayaks and went out into the bay. We made a nice fire and enjoyed our time. We look forward to our next stay on Rick's land.

We stayed at the Windy Spot site (#2 on the map). We had a beautiful view overlooking the bay. An eagle’s nest was perched in the trees above us so we were able to witness a few flying in from the bay! The dirt road leading to the campsite is very rocky with a lot of holes. My car sits very low to the ground so it was a little nerve-racking. I recommend driving a car that sits a little higher up from the ground if you have the option! The only major downside of the campsite was the spiders. The daddy longlegs were a bit relentless, climbing all over our stuff and the top of our tent. If you’re afraid of spiders, I would not recommend this campsite, even with the beautiful view it offers. Also, there is a public restroom on site that was reasonably clean except for the multitude of spiders hanging out on the doors! The beach is accessible near campsite #1. It’s not for swimming and not really for hanging out either but it’s pretty.
Rick was extremely helpful and courteous in assisting us with finding the location of the site. We didn’t know we had to check in with the caretakers on site when we arrived so make sure you go to the Bridgehouse when you first arrive to check in (otherwise they’ll come find and won’t be too happy). Overall, great site but too many spiders!
We had an amazing weekend at this campsite. It is a boy scout camp, but since they are not as fully booked as usual due to COVID, they rent several sites to the public. We had an enormous site (you could probably pitch 10 tents there) with a view of the bay, picnic shelter with electricity and four tables, and a nice, clean, modern bathroom nearby. A 5-10 minute walk took us to a virtually private beach with a picnic table where we spent all day floating on the Chesapeake. The sunset was gorgeous and the rangers were helpful and attentive. We hope to go back again soon.
Just one note that to find the entrance, it worked better for us to type "Rodney Scout Camp" into Google maps rather than the GPE coordinates found in the directions.

We loved staying at Rick's site. The location is beautiful and easy to access and the staff are very accommodating. I would highly recommend this site to anyone looking to camp in Maryland. We look forward to our next visit!
