Originally built in 1852, this farm has been in our family for generations. The back half consists of flowing crops as far as the eye can see and the front (facing Harrisville Rd) is fenced off for livestock and has a beautiful stream running the length of the property.  Within the last two decades, the Maryland wine industry has taken off, especially in the farming areas of southern Frederick County. Wineries, and now breweries, crafting their own libations have popped up all around the farm. One of our favorites, Linganore Winery and Red Shedman Brewery, is within waking distance from the campsite, although there is no sidewalk along Glissan's Mill Road. There are currently eight winery/breweries within a 10 min scenic farmland drive from the campsite. Most host music festivals with food trucks on the weekends that are open to the public during spring, summer, and fall months. If winery hopping isn't your thing, the foodie in you might enjoy dinner at the Bryan Voltaggio's Volt or Family Meal located in Frederick (about a 20 min drive). If those don't interest you there are plenty of other farm to table restaurants in Frederick and lots of hiking opportunities at the historic C&O Canal and Appalachian trails (both a mere 30 mins drive to a trailhead). Or, of course, you could just enjoy the peace and quiet of our 30 acre slice of heaven!

    Quite country quaint
    We stayed at site 2 in a towable 24foot rv. Everything was grand including the view. Melissa was extremely responsive and so accomodating. Cant wait to stay again.

    It was peaceful, but not far from other amenities. We spent most of our time at the campsite but went to the closest winery one afternoon. It was so busy and full of people. Yet only a mile away at our camp we would’ve never known it if we had decided to stay. Our kids enjoyed the giant tire swing, and the dog enjoyed the creek.

    Can’t Wait to Come Back
    Such an awesome spot and our group had a great time. Melissa is an incredible host and even gave us worms for a day of fishing (we caught around 10 fish). Plenty of space for tents, canopies, great campfire, and awesome location for stopping by breweries, wineries, and restaurants. We had plenty of space around our campsite for throwing a football around as well. My group and I would 100% book again and I would absolutely recommend this place to others and thank Melissa!

    Melissa was very responsive and accommodating. We stayed at Site 1 which offers far more privacy than any public campsites in the area. We fished at their pond which is a short drive from the campsite but offers access to a fairly large private pond with what seemed like a healthy fish population. Definitely recommend!

    Peaceful, calm and quiet!
    Great spot and a very helpful and responsive host! Melissa was wonderful and the site is lovely. We had a great time in the area visiting the nearby brewery and hiking.
