Really did enjoy the experience.
Happy campers was an excellent experience all the way around. It was convenient, and easy to get to. It was a relaxing environment on the homestead, and the care and attention given was outstanding. We enjoyed the serenity during the day, and spent our evening in quaint Chesapeake City. I'd absolutely recommend it to any campers, or RVer's that are looking for a gem.
they are truly the most fabulous hosts. i came in later in the evening and they set up a tent and lit a fire for when i arrived. incredible! the camping space is a little small and close to the house. that didn’t bother me one bit due to how hospitable they were.
they have beautiful goats and turkeys and a sweet dog named Oscar who sat on my lap while i watched the fire. camping bathroom is something they’re working on still i believe.
the option to kayak is great too, recommend taking advantage of it! it is a sweet pond.
they are very into sustainability, and i’d recommend asking about it.
I had a great experience staying there and meeting the animals and the charismatic hosts.
Slice of homestead life
This was a delightful slice of farm property with some very wholesome and down to earth hosts. They were very communicative and offering of their little slice of happiness. We exchanged some books and had several interesting conversations. The farmlife is part of the property and the baby chicks and turkeys are pretty neat. They are new to hosting a RV and were rather receptive to any feedback I gave them, including modifying the entrance fence to make getting on the property easier and increasing water pressure to the hose. It's pretty nice to be able to sit by a fire, jump on a trampoline, or pet the goats at will. I'd recommend their spot.
Eclectic lil bit o heaven
The nicest hosts EVER!! A really eclectic stay! Sweet chickens, lovable goats and a sassy Tom turkey who ‘tries’ to act like the boss but fails. Great electric and water hook up. Nice fire ring with benches and Tiki torches. Our hosts bent over backwards to improve our stay! Even provided ice. If you love herbs, wild foraging and natural remedies you will love chatting! We will definitely come back given the chance ! ❤️👍
A safe haven in a country enviroment. Waking up to the roosters crow and learning the turkey's personality and interacting with it was a priceless experience. The host couple made me feel right at home in my little [email protected] trailer.
A one of a kind campsite
Most Hipcamp sites are a place to pitch a tent or park an RV, this site is more than that, it's a unique experience. You camp on the host's small plot of land they call their "homestead". You share the space with a small flock of chickens and one very large tom turkey. Having them wandering about was rather pleasant and not at all a bother. The hosts are super helpful and friendly with lots of good advice on what to do in the area. Nearby Chesapeake City is a lovely little town and the C&D Canal Trail is just a short drive away. There is an electric and water hookup on the property.
