We host two campsites located near the shoreline. Secluded sites enjoy fire-pits and picnic tables. The property was originally a tobacco farm located on a peninsula called “Dumplin Neck” because a turn-of-the-century doctor loved the locals chicken and dumplings so much.
Close to several waterfront restaurants on Rockhold Creek and a short hop to Chesapeake Paddle Sports. You can combine them and kayak to 4 waterfront restaurants, sampling the fare along the way.
The farm path back to the campsites was once the main road to the Point but is long since forgotten but perfect for foraging or exploring. You can still see remnants of cottages and a walk through a local civil war era cemetery..
There is easy access to the creek and a short paddle to our family’s micro-island and private beach. You can slip your kayak or canoe from our pier or the shoreline.

Great stay, friendly hosts
Friends and dogs had a great stay at site #2. The campsite was as described, right along the water. Good room for two tents and two cars. Hosts were very welcoming and easy to communicate with. Portapotty was just out of sight, easy walking distance and clean. Mosquitoes were as expected for being by the water in early fall (as long as you come prepared, shouldn't be an issue). There is a large dead tree that you should avoid pitching a tent under for fear of falling branches. Site has a good amount of space regardless. Overall, had a great stay and would love to come again.
Fresh, refreshing, and amazing
What a lovely home, farm, produce stand, and place to camp and rest for the night. The hosts were very helpful, let their birds run free range on the grounds, and had an amazing place to buy vegetables and fresh baked treats and focaccia on the weekends (home-made by the host!) at the end of their street. Would highly recommend it as a perfect spot to getaway and get back to the land!
Cozy site tucked away by the water
My kids and I had a great experience here. Julie and her husband were too kind. The kids got to play with the animals there and they had a blast. Dont forget to add on the hammock, the kids enjoyed it throughly. SUPER MINOR critique: the camp site where we pitch the actual tents, had a bunch of stumps and made it difficult to place the tent so that nobody has to lay on the small stump. We just snuggled on the other side of the tent after discovering no move we made wouldn't avoid the stump. We will come back 100%. Next time we will bring some fishing poles! Love the place, its almost right on the water for those who want to go boating.
On the water
Stayed at this campsite with my girlfriend and we enjoyed it a lot! We unfortunately showed up after sunset so setting up was a bit tough, but Julie met us as we pulled up! Campsite #2 was very nice and secluded. It was the one further down the road and was right on the water. If we had more time we would have used the kayaks to go out into the bay!
This place was awesome! We stayed at site #2, it was right on the water, nice and shady, and complete with a picnic table, fire pit, and hammock. Port-a-John was clean and close by. Joe showed us to the site and was really nice, answered all our questions, and got us a big cooler of water. Bring bug spray, lots of mosquitoes. We had a great time, would definitely recommend (:
Beautiful misty ing to wake up to.
Wonderful host and what a beautiful campsite! The site is level, with a table and fire ring, surrounded by trees and right by the river. I could hear cars but it's quiet and serene at night, felt safe for a solo camper like me. Waking up to the morning mist on the river was heavenly.
An absolute delight
This was our first time trying HipCamp. Julie’s spot was right down the road and it was absolutely incredible. We’ll definitely go back and extend our stay next time.
