The campground is situated in the wooded area on the back of 27 acre horse farm which is known as "The Stables at Mezza Luna." There is Wi-Fi to all the sites. Every year in the spring there are 4-6 Thoroughbred foals born that eventually will become racehorses. They live on the farm until they are 2 years old and then they go off to begin their racing career. In the daytime, when you are not sitting around your campfire, you can walk the fence lines and visit with the Mares and Foals or just watch them frolic in the fields. Hint! "They love peppermints, carrots and apples." Who knows, you might get to meet a future Kentucky Derby winner. Nearby attractions include: BLACK HILLS REGIONAL PARK (15 minutes) for boating, hiking or biking Vineyard 61 (5 minutes) Stone Silo Brewery (5 Minutes) Leechwood Haunted Forest (5 Minutes) October weekends only There are also chickens and peacocks that are very anxious to receive your love and affection with any type of treat such as raisins. Kids can even go in the chicken coop and pick out their very own egg they can cook for their breakfast. For the energetic campers and kids there are also lots of trails that you can walk or hike on and there is a small stream the kids can play in. There also is a playground with swings, monkey bars, seesaw and trampoline. There is a dumpster in front of the barn for you to place your trash. Please drop off during your stay or on your way out of the property. Don't miss out out on this hidden gem just minutes from our nation's capital.

Amazing camp grounds with electric, a clean toilet, and shower. Doesn’t get much better than that….. but they also have a stream, playground, horses dogs and cats. It doesn’t get much better. The hosts are great and super out going. No complaints

Very peaceful stay. The electric hookup was very reliable. Having a dedicated porta potty for my spot was great! The farm is large with a lot of horses and chickens so nice place to walk around and enjoy the scenery yet close enough to the sub urb like Bethesda. Not a lot of trails nearby unless you leave the farm so that's one difference from state park camping. Tent camping area also has a creek running through so great for kids to enjoy.

My husband and I absolutely loved this place! It was so peaceful and serene and the animals were so much fun to watch. The peacocks were beautiful! We highly highly recommend this place! And I will echo everyone else’s reviews about the portable toilets being SUPER clean!

My family had a great time here. We had plenty of space and the creekside lot was flat and accommodating. The creek provided a lot of fun for the kids and great background noise while sleeping. The farm is charming and we enjoyed seeing the animals. Friendly and prompt correspondance with Keith. We had everything we needed including a very clean portable toilet. Thanks again, Keith. We'll be back!

It’s a nice spot that we will come to again. The land is cleared but also good tree coverage. Small creek next to the site provides nice sound and kids can play as well. Playset and trampoline also good for entertaining. You can walk property to see horses, chickens and a peacock. Keith stopped by to say hi and check in as well. Highly recommend.

My husband, kids (5 and 9), and I had a great experience tent camping on Keith’s land. We stayed at site T7. The site is right next to the creek, which added to the beauty of the scenery. We look out on it at the campfire and we woke up to the gentle sound of the water flowing down the creek. There is a sink with potable water at the site. You can buy a wheelbarrow of firewood at any time from a stand near the sites. We realized pretty late that we hadn’t brought enough so it was great to be able to pop over there and buy some. There is a small playground with swings and a trampoline among the sites that was an amazing surprise. I would definitely recommend to others. Note that at this site there is only a small table and 2 chairs rather than a picnic table, which the larger sites around us had.

it was a great time staying here. first time taking my son camping and it was great. we chose the farm so he could be occupied through the trip. there’s lots of horses, chickens and peacocks! all the animals were extremely friendly which made the trip worth while. we got to pick eggs, and feed the animals.Keith, his wife and all the farm staff were very friendly and accommodating! the tent sites are near each-other, but still felt like you’re alone and had a nice private area. the river running by the sites is so beautiful and relaxing. we had a great stay.

Beautiful and clean space with fire pit and more than enough space for a group of 15! Showers were freezing cold but refreshing…. Porta Potty was clean!! The hanging lights were perfect at night while sitting around the fire pit.. would definitely book again!

this was my first camping experience and it was great! the portable toilet was very clean and the camp site was spotless. We were escorted to the camp site and everyone was very friendly. My son loved the water stream and the playground so that was also a huge plus. Looks like this will be our regular spot 👍🏻

Very clean and beautiful campsite! The string lights were a godsend since we ended up arriving after dark. We had pre-bought eggs, firewood, and honey and those were very easy to pick up on the way to the site. Got to see some horses, as well as hear peacocks and owls! There was a lot of rain on the trip so we didn't get to explore as much as we would have wanted to, we'll just have to come back later!

This place is amazing!!! We went with a three- and one-year-old, and they LOVED the horses and other animals, creek, and playground (with a trampoline!), and were entertained the whole time. Our dogs enjoyed the creek as well and had plenty of room to explore. Each site has string lights (which is such a nice touch) and a sink (which is so convenient). There is a large site for groups that looked a lot of fun. The directions and instructions were all very clear, and the host Keith checked in with us personally to ensure we had a good time. We will definitely be staying here again and are so happy with this site!

Communication was great all along the way -- efficient, clear, and friendly! Unfortunately, cannot comment on the site itself since we had to cancel unexpectedly, but Keith was very helpful and flexible about the change, and we will be very happy to camp here in the future.

This was a wonderful camping spot, so well maintained. Clean portapotty and lovely private campsite. We could see people but were far enough away that felt like we were alone. Loved seeing all the horses and being right by the small stream. Appreciated the lights and the running water to rinse our dishes. A little bit of heaven. We would very much like to come back! Thank you to Keith and Kim for sharing your beautiful place with us.

This tidy site was by a lovely stream, with a well-maintained firepit and a clean portapotty a little ways away. This is the first time I've ever had an actual basin with tap water by my tent! The closest thing to "glamping" our family has ever done, as a result. Our 8 year old was delighted with everything--the stream (which supplied the best noise for sleeping), the large site where we could spread out a picnic blanket surrounded by trees, the firepit where we made s'mores, the sink(!) where we could wash off said s'mores, and of course the horses. We were there in early spring with not much foliage so you do spy some RVs a little ways off but that might be less true with full foliage. I would recommend this place to anyone with young kids or who just want a really easy but beautiful, if not wild, site to camp. Also, very organized.

The property is beautiful and fun with horses, free ranging chickens (not at the tent sites), clean porta-potties (amazingly), huge adult swing, creekside camp site. What more could an old girl ask for!

Keith's family farm is gorgeous and exactly as described. He was a welcoming and pleasant host. We felt safe and comfortable at the site. Hookups were appreciated and functioning well. The heated and plumbed barn bathroom was splendid in the cold freeze of night. Their horses were majestic and a great sight to wake up to. Location was great and well described for a calm arrival. There may be farm dogs off leash roaming the site - they are kind but dominant. Best to avoid contact (with or without leash) if you have your own dog or cat. We would happily stay again.

Beautiful location! Be a bit careful leaving on tight turns, we scraped out awning a bit leaving. Otherwise love the spot & would love to come back!

Had a terrific time staying one quick night at Keith's farm-adjacent site. Our host couldn't have been kinder in showing us around the barn, and our rent site was well equipped with water and electric, as well as sitting beside a tranquil stream (best possible noise to sleep to). What a great getaway close to the DMV.
