My wife Janet and I would like to invite you to come set up your tent, camper, pop up, small travel trailer, or what have you “down back” on our farm and enjoy total privacy and a beautiful view! Enjoy seeing wildlife ( especially deer ) and be serenaded to sleep at night by the sounds of nature; crickets, peep frogs, owls, etc. Enjoy sitting around the fire and if the clouds cooperate, take in some stargazing. Know you have a home base while exploring all that Harford County has to offer. Local restaurants, antique shops, wineries and breweries are just a short drive away. Also, we are just minutes from Rocks State Park ( ride your bike there ), Kilgore Falls, and Eden Mill Park and Nature Center which has a canoe/kayak launch and nature trails. Harford County Parks and Rec just opened a new canoe/kayak launch at 1202 Walters Mill Road, there are 14 parking spots and is open 7 days per week dawn to dusk. Several times per year there are antique car shows, and annually Jarrettsville has a carnival and a huge outdoor flea market, and not to mention the famous “Sunflowers in Jarrettsville”which bloom in late autumn and provide beautiful photo ops and supports local charities. Also, Jarrettsville Creamery is only 3 miles away, awesome food and homemade ice cream! And if you care to venture further, spending a day in Lancaster County to the north in Amish country or heading southeast to the historical town of Havre de Grace is not out of the question, or the Maryland State Fair in Timonium when it’s running. If nothing else, relax with a good book and enjoy being outside. Lots to see and do, we hope to see you!
Fall is on its way, in my opinion the best time to camp! Leaves are changing, weather is cool and crisp, and a campfire just makes everything right. Keep checking back as I will post pictures of the beautiful foliage as it starts to change around here.
Nothing fancy here, just a nice primitive and private campsite.
There is a water spigot onsite, fresh well water but I can’t guarantee potability, please bring your own drinking water.
* “ Sunflowers in Jarrettsville “ fields will be in bloom and open September 24 until the blooms fade *

Great quiet little spot!
Gordon was so accommodating when we got in later than expected, even starting a fire and jumping in to help me get the tent set up before the sun went down on me. My dog who doesn't always like strangers was very comfortable around him, which made me immediately feel at home! Gordon even stayed up to make sure my partner could find the place in the dark.
Cedar Hill Farm itself was great! It was very private, but not so secluded as to be too intimidating for beginner car campers. There was a water pump which was great for washing up, a huge stack of pre-cut firewood covered with a tarp to keep it dry, a stone fire ring with a cooking trench on one end, a picnic table and chairs, and a double-zip privacy tent with a composting toilet tucked into a little wooded area close enough but not too close to camp :) There is a little egg stand on the farm as well with delicious eggs.
We explored down to a little creek and the woods between the main house and our site during our stay and really enjoyed it. The field across from the site is very pretty, and we saw deer move through near sunset one night! Sitting out at night we could see the stars so clearly! It's outside the reach of the city lights and so much of the night sky is visible. The area getting to Cedar Hill Farm was very pretty too! Driving from Baltimore, it was just close enough to be easy to find, but not so close you felt trapped in the city still. Many cornfields and beautiful trees lead you to the area.
Really a great little tranquil place to camp with great hosts. Couldn't recommend it highly enough and we'll be going back!
Beautiful campsite! great host!
Arrived late our first night but Gordon met us out there and showed us around. He even offered to get our fire going while we set up.
The next day when we were out he covered our fire pit and wood when it looked like it might rain. Very thoughtful!
Great recommendations on places to visit and eat as well.
Gordon definitely made our first experience with Hipcamp a pleasant one!!
A great camping trip!
I had a wonderful time at Cedar Hill Farm. The camping area was secluded and private. A beautiful night sky full of stars. Gordon’s hospitality was great he showed us the way to the site and had everything setup including a sweet fire pit. Definitely a great camping trip thanks for the stay Gordon!
