Tom's Cabin is in a wooded area but there is a fair amount of open space for playing catch or siting around the fire with a larger group. Our cabins are simple 20 x 20 structures with large screened openings. They do not have electricity or plumbing but both are available at the main camp area. Bunks and cots are provided but please bring your own mattresses and bedding.

5 person minimum Our walk will take about an hour and will only be moderately physically demanding. However, we will be exploring the Woods, the ground will be uneven and tripping hazards may be present. We will walk the property and discuss the forest we see around us. Focus of the walk can depend on the interest of participants. Possible topics include: forest history at Catoctin; principles of forest management; Invasive species - What are they, why they are a problem and what do we do about them; tree identification; edible plants; The once and future King of the forest; Etc.

It is also home to much of the 26-mile National Recreation Catoctin Trail which runs from Gambrill State Park north to Cunningham Falls State Park and Catoctin Mountain National Park. All of these parks also have extensive trail systems
