Places to see near Angela S.’s Land
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Super welcoming. Even gave us a call with info before coming and came by in the mornings to give us breakfast. The view of the forest in the pine trees was amazing to wake up too. Beautiful land.
Peace Acres is the perfect name for this place! Very quiet and secluded. Everything you need in a clearing in the middle of the Maryland Woods. The hosts were delightful to chat with. A little slice of heaven!!
Amazing hidden gem
Exceeded expectations! Our hosts were so kind to us and let us stay on a very short notice since our other campsite was cancelled due to a tropical storm. The clearing is so beautiful, and there is bountiful wood for fire. The outdoor shower was really nice! Good spot for some stargazing and very very private
We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Assateague Island. The campsite was clean, with a firepit, 2 chairs and citronella candle waiting for us. There was also enough space between our site and the other groups so we didn't feel crowded at all.
The hosts were also great. Very responsive and wanted to make sure our stay was a good one. We'd definitely stay again
This is a beautiful little clearing in tbe woods. Very nice fire pits, table and chairs provided. We loved the outdoor shower. The reasons we didn't love it were all weather related. The site had recently been hit with a lot of rain, so there was a lot of mud that we had to walk through to get to the actual campsite which was dry, but the mud was too much for our kids. The host had plans to work on the flooding, but I would ask about the site conditions before booking.
This was the perfect jumping off point for a short beach weekend and Angela was very accommodating as our arrival plans changed due to traffic. Nice, quiet place with clean amenities. We'll definitely come back! Thank you!
Hear something, say something!
Angela & Mark are great hosts and theIr property is very well cared for. We arrived on a Thursday so Angela let us have the campsite of our choice. The pine tree forest campsite was absolutely beautiful but you can see houses and a paved road from here, we decided to camp in the back of the large clearing, so our dogs could have plenty of space to roam. Angela, showed us how to work the outdoor shower, which we absolutely loved. The porta potty was very clean and we also enjoyed the outdoor sink for washing our hands. Mark set up a fire pit for us to use, there was plenty of wood on site, unfortunately they have had a lot of rain recently so most of the wood was wet, we bought some dry wood from the local hardware store and planned to build a fire Saturday night. We were having such a good time even though the mosquitoes were after our lives. We have a large tent with a screen room and the mosquitoes couldn’t bother us inside. Friday afternoon some additional campers arrived, they set up camp on the opposite end of the large clearing from our campsite, they were very quiet. A few hours later a family arrived at the campsite, they set up camp between ourselves and the other campers, they were even more quiet than the other campers. Angela had told us that this would be the most bookings they have had, so we knew to expect other campers. Friday night at 9pm three cars full of very loud campers arrived. They played music, sang songs and laughed until 5am! My husband politely asked them to keep the noise down at midnight, they blankly stared at him and continued to have a good time. In the morning we awoke to see that the family left in the middle of the night. I messaged Angela first thing in the morning to let her know we were leaving too, the loud campers ruined our weekend, and I’m sure they ruined that nice families weekend as well. Angela responded appropriately to my concerns. We will definitely visit this property again. I’m confident had we let Angela know about the noise issue that night she would have fixed the situation. I will now add ear plugs to my camping supply list.
Convenient spot towards the beaches
This is a convenient spot while visiting (or on your way towards) the beaches, so it was a useful last minute spot for us while we headed towards Assateague to spend another night. There are about 5 camping spots at this listing, which for some reason I was unaware of when booking. We ended up choosing one of the three (or 4) spots in the back, which was away from the road and the house. Unfortunately, it felt a little too close to the other sites, and a the large group next to us was super loud past midnight. I also highly recommend bug spray, as the mosquitoes were super bad in early September. You are free to collect firewood, but the wood was a little too wet, so I recommend maybe bringing extra firewood if it's been raining. It looks like they are still working on improving the site, so changes may be made in the future. The outdoor shower seemed nice but didn't get a chance to use it.
