Wilder Waters is an intentional community. We forage, hunt, and fish for our food, craft medicine from native wild plants, and create clothing from deer hides. We are modern day hunter-gatherers who are working to protect our surrounding forestland and rivers.  Learn more about this land: Surrounded by over 4,000 acres of undeveloped forests, this tiny 10x10 cabin offers a unique combination of nature and relaxation. Come here to enjoy wildlife, hiking, snowshoeing, sledding, and private restorative yoga classes.

Forest cabin along brook
Sara and the Wilder Waters Community were great hosts. Sara was easy to communicate with and checked in periodically to make sure that I had everything I needed. Cabin and fire pit are nearby the main house but had plenty of privacy and the desired secluded feeling. Cabin was cozy and comfortable. Just an hour drive from Goose Eye Mountain and other amazing hikes. Star gazing could not be any better. Highly recommend, especially if you’re interested in learning about sustainable living. Already looking forward to a return trip.

Forest cabin along brook
Just exactly what I wanted.
I could not have found more precisely what I wanted in a cabin. It is beautiful and super solidly built, with a bed (a simple cot with a mattress and warm blankets), a wood stove, and a small table and chair. Surrounded by woods, wind gusting outside, i was warm and toasty and incredibly cozy inside. Sara was a wonderful host. She and her family were super welcoming, and also left me fully to be alone. The cabin is within sight of the house, but through trees and far enough to be private. It’s super simple - an 8x12 cabin to stay warm and safe in the woods. Thank you, Sara!

Worth going another time.
I had a very good time getting away to the Forest Cabin Along the Brook. As advertised, it had minimal amenities--a small cabin, a bed, a stove, and an outhouse. Perfect. Behind the cabin is a lovely creek and nothing but woods. I did not explore as much as I should/could have but will have to remedy that next time. The hosts were kind and kept to themselves. I would recommend this for those that want to be by themselves and like to be outside with minimal fuss. I am sure I'll be back.

We had a great time at the cabin. It appears to be brand new and was supplied with everything we needed. Sara provided many thoughtful little touches, such as candles, a spare headlamp, fire starter, some books to peruse, etc. It IS very cozy and was exactly what we were expecting, but is best suited for solo travellers, couples, or very close friends.
