This is a working, solar powered homestead, totally off-grid with chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys. Available to you is fresh eggs, greenhouse vegetables and garden vegetables that you pick yourself to enjoy while you are here. There is an Artesian spring-fed 2 acre pond for fishing (catch and release only). Semi secluded tent sites are not very far from an outhouse furnished with flush toilet and a sink with fresh running water. All tent sites have a fire pit and a picnic table. Enjoy hiking trails or forge off into the woods to explore on this beautiful 25 acre homestead. Sit and relax by the pond while watching for beavers, raccoons, blue heron and even eagles! Listen to the babbling of the Artisian spring where the ice cold water is pumped to the homestead by solar power. Blueberries, wild strawberries and blackberries are fun to look for and eat. Enjoy the cool nights while star gazing, watching fireflies and listening to the frogs and owls. Watch the operation of a working sawmill, learn to tie flies and how to fly fish. In the future there will be blacksmithing demos and classes, art (painting) classes and nature photography classes. There will be a nominal fee for classes. Only minutes away is Home Depot, Walmart, restaurants, shopping, Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, antique shops, Historic Downtown Ellsworth and the OCEAN!!

It was truly a serendipitous week of camping for us on Mike and Cheryl’s land! They made us feel very welcome and we loved how staying here allowed us to have the space to recreate ourselves while also feeling safe. The fresh eggs every morning and cold water from the natural spring was such a blessing. For the four of us, this was our first time in Maine, so if and when we find ourselves back here, we’ll for sure be back at True Serendipity Homestead!

Mike and his wife Cheyl have a beautiful camp with pond, ducks, chickens etc. The property has a nice bathroom with flush toilet and small lights such that it is easy to find the needee path at night. Also, there are many homestead projects that one can learn about from Mike, who is very friendly. I camped there in site 1 while visiting Acadia for day hikes and had a great time. 5 stars.
Beautiful lake and property. You can hear the sounds of nature and not much noise from the road. Convenient location to visit Acadia NP. Mike and Cheryl were very nice. The fresh eggs were a huge plus! I wish I was there when their fruit/vegetables were harvesting and also when it was warm enough to want to use their canoes! The lack of shower would most likely be inconvenient for some people but with warmer weather, you could jump in the lake and wash off!
This place is absolutely gorgeous. The owners are incredibly kind and made us feel at home. Would reccomend to anyone. We will be camping here again!

Unfortunately, we were only able to stay a quick night as we were on the road early the next day. However, Mike’s property is absolutely incredible and maybe we will be able to stay longer on our way back! He showed us around in the morning, allowed us to collect some of his chicken’s eggs right from their nests, and gave us a short backstory of his progress on the property. Super nice guy and just beautiful place, 10/10 would recommend.
Mike and his wife were great hosts. We were greeted by their dog, Zeus and the chickens. It's really a special place that they take a lot of pride in and it shows. Our campsite (#5) was a quiet little island where all the ducks and frogs hung out at. It was really a special place. There is everything you need there and it's an amazing place to stay at, regardless of how many days you choose to stay.
This spot was great! The hosts are exceptionally friendly! Definitely a spot I will come back to. Lake on the property was my favorite part. The canoes available to use were a great idea by the hots. I wouldn’t recommend flipping over in winter like we do though!
Quiet, serene, convenient for Acadia and flush toilet to boot! My son loved canoeing/fishing on the lake. Mike and Cheryl were hospitable and attentive hosts. They helped make a cold and rainy pair of November nights downright enjoyable.
Our stay at True serendipity homestead was a great experience! Mike and Cheryl were so sweet in greeting us, pointing out the amenities, providing a mess kit, and having our fire wood waiting for us when we arrived (the wood was even covered in preparation for the rain!). We felt safe and the property was beautiful. Would go again!
