Make your home for the night in the woods a short walk from the ocean with a swimmable sand beach, at the end of a private drive. Passing the through the gate down to the Point, we hope you will feel a sense of peace, joy & tranquility. During clear skies we have fantastic stargazing and sunsets from beach and views of the surrounding mountains and islands.

The property and campsite is off Frenchman's Bay and walkable to well maintained hiking trails. At night you will hear the loons, seals in bay, treefrogs, distant coyote howls and owls hooting. 15 minutes from the Schoodic Peninsula of Acadia. 45 minutes from Mount Desert Island. For amazing views walk through the woods down to the beach or admire the variety of woodland diversity and tree species.

We provide guests with a 5 gallon dispenser of well water for drinking/washing upon req.

Site is in woods of your choosing on our land, rustic backwoods wilderness rustic camping. You’ll be able to pull your vehicle right in and car camp, or pitch in the woods.

Adults only 2 person max unless there is only one night available on the calendar, we have a 2 night min stay. Returning guest? Msg us for a discount code prior to booking.

You may have a fire here in the firepit. We have wood available onsite. If you wish to cook over open fire, there is a heavy duty swing away grate to cook on the fire. Site features a large picnic table, bench/2 chairs for sitting around the fire and (very dim, in dappled shade woods) solar lanterns, a shovel and bucket for fire safety.

Here you can walk directly to the beach (1-2 min walk) to watch the sunset. We also have kayaks available. This is the only site in which you can arrive after dusk without any confusion and orienting yourself to the property! Adults only site. The site is best suited to two guests, larger parties we instead recommend Booking “starry night farmhouse woods.” Parties with kids pls do not req to book this site. Pls note this is not our most private tent/rv site. If you require total privacy pls look at our other sites. Here the picnic table and fire pit area is visible from our private road, on which passerbys are us and our guests only.

We have a dumpster here for your utilization (please no meat or seafood waste, we do take compost separately!) however we request guests practice mindful consumption prior to your time here in order to plan to minimize waste. Our priority is to keep the land here pristine and respected. Our mission to utilize and experience but save and protect the environment can only be accomplished with the active mindfulness of YOU! We are here to prove & provide an extremely magical alternative to the business and chaos of traditional large KOA&RV campgrounds, that does not degrade the environment or break the peace that our small town still contains. As a courtesy to Mother Earth and fellow campers, leave the land you visit better than you found it& do not burn any trash other than paper products. Potty and hand washing sink is a short walk away.

Limit of two dogs per party. Dogs must be on leash or voice command. Please leash dogs when/if coming for a meet and greet to my home as we do have our own outdoor furry friends.

Please keep your speed down while driving on our quiet neighborhood roads. Together we are here to be an example to others of what mindful camping can be and what deservedly respite and respect for nature holds in this seemingly chaotic crazy ever-changing modern world.

Our goal with Hipcamp is to provide a place for seekers of peace to gain a quiet time in & better relationship and appreciation with nature in a world that has forgotten the importance and connection we all have with the planet that sustains us. The Point is holding space for the organic growth of regenerative community in an insane world. Thanks for caring and being apart of the solution.

KIDS: Although Taft Pt is not strictly adults-only; families with children (esp under the age of 6) are encouraged to book ‘Farmhouse Woods Starry Night” in lieu of this site when/if it’s open. (to view our other sites click on where it says “the point.) please disclose if you have kiddos please disclose this in your booking request and check availability for our other child friendly site first before req to book. We aim to keep a peaceful atmosphere for ourselves & other guests. Guest will be provided guide to the area; an electronic information packet in gdoc form on The Point, Schoodic & Acadia upon req, of which there’s a laminated copy at your site. we are 15 min from the schoodic peninsula of acadia, 45 min from the main nat’l park on mount desert island.

We love welcoming people to our property and are happy to answer questions about the area prior to your trip. We look forward to meeting new people and making new friends./p> Thank you for reading!

Beautiful scenery, a responsive host, a well kept campsite, a beach to stargaze on and watch the sunrise. Couldn't ask for anything more! We will definitely be back.

Really special and amazing location. Very quite and serene. Good for folks who want to get away from crowds and are ok with fewer amenities. Area is less densely populated compared to areas south (Mount Desert Island, Rockland, etc) and more of a fishing area than tourist area. But that’s what I loved about it!

What a wonderfully beautiful, peaceful, private, and oh-so quiet spot. This was our very first Hipcamp experience and we couldn't have asked for more. The weather was brutally hot but the tree cover and proximity to the water and gentle ocean breeze made it quite tolerable and the usually chilly Maine waters were very refreshing. Of the 3 Hipcamps we ended up staying at during our trip, this is the one we'll be going back to...

My husband and I stayed here for two nights. We wished we had stayed a little longer. There was plenty of space for our Class C RV and the slide out. The site had a picnic table and some chairs.

The place was shaded and cool with all of the trees. It was pretty private, with the exception of the two small cabins on the property that were also rented.

The private beach is just a two-minute walk, if that. If you’re planning to visit Bar Harbor or Acadia National Park, plan for an hour drive. If you don’t want to make the drive, avoid the crowds and explore near camp.

Quiet woods is definitely what you’ll experience! The very brief walk to the water was wonderful every morning and evening for sunset. Hosts were excellent!! Loved the Adirondack chairs around the fire. A nice touch. You can’t go wrong with any of the 3 spots on their land.

Lily’s property is absolutely incredible!!! I cannot recommend this HipCamp enough!!! We were in Maine for a week and stayed 2 nights here and the rest of our time at a big campground on Mount Desert Island and we wished we had done more time here instead!!! The privacy and peacefulness was wonderful and the whole Schoodic Peninsula is stunning!!! We were in a 24 ft Class C and had plenty of space to park and it was relatively level and we didn’t have to use our level blocks!!! The beach is just a short walk away and we spent most of our time here lounging and swimming. We could also easily launch our SUP from shore and sunset was amazing!!! We also spent time stargazing on the beach at night!!! There are also 2 little hiking trail loops through the forest that were accessible nearby the campsite that I definitely would recommend!!! All in all I can’t stop thinking about our time at this site and would 100% stay here again when in Maine!!!

Quiet Acadia Woods was the perfect getaway for a quiet, woodsy and ocean experience bundled into one. Lilly was extremely responsive and helpful with anything from the time of booking to arrival. The spot is pretty special in many ways, with the quiet serenity of being under the limbs of the cedars to a short walk down to the water for relaxing, swimming and sunset. We plan on returning again and again!
