Please read through our entire description before booking :)

Site is in woods of your choosing on my land, rustic backwoods wilderness rustic no/low amenity camping. There's my home and will be other campers here, and though your firepit and table will be visible from my road, and you may see the occasional passing car on the driveway. You may set up your tent as deep into the woods as you’d like for more privacy. I will likely come to say hi to you, please specify if you would like to be left alone. This is not the most private site. To view our other tent site and two cabins, please view this listing from your mobile/web browser and click on “The Point” where it says United States>Maine>The Point

However, this site for tenting can be as deep into the woods as you would like; if so, this site is totally private from any passerby hikers on beach and therefor clothing optional. We are also 420 friendly as it is LEGAL here. While we don’t discourage imbibing this is not the place for a loud party, big groups or any amplified sounds as sound really travels to neighboring sites who may wish for a more quiet time in nature. Quiet hours are observed 9pm-8am..

You may have a fire here in the firepit. We have wood available onsite. If you like to cook over open fire, there is a grate. Site features a picnic table, bench/2 chairs for sitting around the fire and solar lights. There are no beach fires permitted at this site. Site has a shovel and bucket for fire safety.

Here you can walk directly to the beach to watch the sunset.

This is a pack-in pack-out leave-no-trace piece of land; there are no trash facilities or dumpsters on purpose, please take your trash with you or to local transfer station. We will take your compost! Pls practice mindful consumption prior to your time here in order to plan to minimize waste waste. Our priority is to keep the land here pristine and respected. Our mission to utilize and experience but save and protect the environment can only be accomplished with the active mindfulness of YOU!  We are here to prove & provide an extremely magical alternative to the business and chaos of traditional large RV campgrounds, that does not degrade the environment or break the peace that our small town still contains. As a courtesy to Mother Earth and fellow campers, leave all of the land you visit better than you found it& do not burn any trash other than paper products.

Limit of two dogs per party. Dogs must be on leash or strict voice command. Please leash dogs when coming for a meet and greet to my home as we have outdoor pets. This is a wildlife sanctuary; dogs must be well behaved, cannot be allowed to bark in excess and must not be a threat to wildlife.

Please keep your speed down while driving on our quiet neighborhood road and on road. Together we are here to be an example to others of what mindful camping can be and what deservedly respite and respect for nature holds in this seemingly chaotic crazy ever-changing modern world.

I am not a commercial campground nor do I aim to be. Our goal with Hipcamp is to provide a place for seekers of peace to gain a *QUIET TIME* in & better relationship and appreciation with nature in a world that has forgotten the importance and connection we all have with the planet that sustains us. Taft Point is holding space for the organic growth of regenerative community in an insane world. Thanks for caring and being apart of the solution.

By booking this site you agree to adhere to all rules as stated. Kids count as additional guests; if they use the potty, no matter what age. Although Taft Pt is not strictly adults only, kids between the ages of 2 and 6 are discouraged (but allowed) at this site in favor of booking at the more private Farmhouse Woods site instead. We aim to keep a peaceful atmosphere for other guests. Guest will be provided an electronic information packet in gdoc form on Taft Point, Schoodic & Acadia upon req/prior to arrival.

We love welcoming people to our property and are happy to answer any questions about the area prior to your trip. We look forward to meeting new people and making new friends.

The site and property were just as described. Communication with the host was very good and we found everything we needed easily. Being right on the water is an incredible experience- one that is not easy to find. I really respect and value the mission of the host and seek to be in nature with minimal impact. The property is surrounded by a beautiful nature conservancy with well marked loops for contemplative walking- it was an added bonus! I can’t say enough about this very special spot and will return again if I’m so fortunate.

This campsite was perfect for what we were looking for. Very secluded and peaceful. Just a short walk down to the bay from the campsite. Lily (host) was friendly and had helpful suggestions of activities in the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend renting kayaks from her. We saw 10+ seals that swam up close to us during our time on the water - one of the top highlights of our whole trip to Maine!

Lily’s site was so serene and quiet, we actually didn’t see any other people at other campsites except for when we walked on the beach! The woods were beautiful. Lily offers firewood for purchase which made our lives so much easier. We had ample space for our campervan and an awesome firepit, and our site was literally a 2 min walk from the beautiful beach so we could watch the sunset. We had two nights there and it was hard to leave. I can’t say enough positive things about this Hipcamp!

Wow what a time! Lily has such a special gem in this place and she absolutely knows it. It is so kind of her family to open this land to campers and share the beauty. Early morning coffee hikes to the beach and breathtaking sunsets, I cried more times than I can count just taking in the beauty. The trails in the preserve are also so great! I took Lily’s recommendation and checked out ravens nest, absolutely incredible! Lily was so kind to me as a solo female traveler with my dog. Even sharing some veggies from her garden. She was so incredibly responsive and entertained my questions and concerns throughout my stay there, something she certainly did not have to do! I even had a last minute booking cancellation for my next site and Lily allowed me to rent out the wagon for another night. So perfect because it ended up pouring! I was so thankful for her flexibility throughout this getaway. I absolutely cannot wait to come back and show this gem to friends and family ❤️

Don’t miss the chance to stay here!! Lily was a phenomenal host and VERY quick to reply to us. Close to everything we wanted to see and far from the crowds and noise. The grounds are stunning — natural beauty at its finest! Take out the kayaks if you have the chance, truly a unique experience seeing seals and bald eagles. You can hear loon calls in the morning and evening from the beach. Spectacular sunsets every evening. A very special and welcoming stay, we will be back!!

We camped for 2 nights and spent a third night in the A Frame by the sea. Spectacular. Bird song. Rain song. Fresh greens from Lily. One pot meals on the fire. Fresh honor bread from mandala farms across the street. Eagles and Seals. Rain or shine. Lily and Daniel keep this land sacred and open for wondering and wandering souls. A chance to heal and recharge for whatever is next.
