Welcome to the farmhouse. Make your home for the night near the ocean & settle into a peaceful quiet piece of the earth. Enjoy a fire on the beach in the evening, and take in the vastness of the stars and the slowing of time.

Site is tucked in the woods overlooking Frenchman’s Bay at the end of a private drive with no immediate neighbors around for a quarter mile. Secluded and private from surrounding dwellings-- by day go exploring the Schoodic Pensinsula, at night hear the loons, seals in bay, treefrogs, distant coyote howls and owls hooting. During the day you are a short walk from the trails next door.

* Please read through our description before booking *

Site: in the *feild/lawn/woods* on the property of your choosing around a quiet old unoccupied **farmhouse** off a private swimmable stretch of beach and adjacent to trails on a nature preserve..

Fires! You may have a fire on the beach for one night during your time here at this site *above* the high tide mark in the designated pit area. This ensures you are not in the direct line of sight and bothering any of our neighbors with early bedtimes. Site has grate to cook over fire avail on lend and 2 stump "chairs". Or use your campstove or portable pit at your site up the hill. Site has picnic table up the hill. Please bring your own wood purchased locally.

Privacy! You'll be well out of ear/eyeshot from other sites and from my home.

Our goal with Hipcamp is to provide a place for seekers of peace to gain a better relationship and appreciation with nature in a world that has forgotten the importance and connection we all have with the planet that sustains us.

Our top priorities with our Hip Camp is keeping this land pristine and respected. Our mission to save our environment can only be accomplished with the active mindfulness of YOU!  We are here to prove that people can change and that an alternative to traditional campgrounds can be an extremely magical benefit for the people that does not degrade the environment and break the peace that small towns still contain.

Please keep your speed down while driving on our quiet neighborhood road and in our campground roads. Together we are here to be an example to others of what mindful camping can look like in this changing world.

We love welcoming ALL people to our property and are happy to answer any questions about the area prior to trip. lf you request a meet and greet upon specified arrival time, I'll try to come say HI, or invite you over to my home :)

ARRIVAL: Sunset is at 6 PM. Guest checking in should aim to arrive by 6pm, unless extenuating circumstances, guests arriving after 7:30 PM (unless you have the experience during nightfall under the gun) will have a hard time setting up camp as it gets very dark here w no moon—; pls aim and plan to ensure check-in before nightfall to avoid any confusion with finding site, parking, setting up camp and orienting yourself to the property and site. Site does have solar string lights.

Kids over 3 count as an additional guest. Unless you are completely self contained--if they use the potty, they leave a trace. Two kids between 3-18=one additional guest.

Located ~30 minutes from Ellsworth, 15 minutes from Winter Harbor, 15 min from the Schoodic Peninsula of Acadia National Park, and 40 minutes from Acadia on Mount Desert Island/Bar Harbor.

An additional note from the Hosts: we are so consistently amazed, beyond, bewildered by the wonderful characters, hearts and spirits of our guests here. It’s such an honor and a privilege to be able to meet and host and have you here. Something weird is going on (total glitch in the matrix) where we have just had the most wonderful guests. Hipcamp was never a long-term goal for us but it has been a continual source of positive energy! This site is only semi active as we renovate the house on our property! Please check with us and check other sites too we have two cabins and two tent sites. This booking is fantastic in all regards!! The site is perfect, secluded and right near the water with multiple sites for campfires (in case of winds). The host is incredible; she is so sweet, helpful and caring, making sure that all our needs are met each day. Highly recommend!! Will be coming back here again (for the 3rd time)!

This was the highlight of our trip. On our honeymoon through the northeast, my new wife and I connected with Lily. The property is beautiful and remote (but there’s still cell service and data). We car camped, had a fire, and enjoyed FRESH lobster provided by Daniel, Lily’s beau. In the morning, we took a walk on the beach which was steps away from our campsite. This was the most authentic experience we could have asked for, thank you to Lily for the most amazing time. If we ever get back up here, I would love to spend more time doing some kayaking on the water

We loved everything about staying here. Lily has such a beautiful place and is creating an amazing experience on it! ABSOLUTELY LET HER COOK FOR YOU! Get the lobster dinner, you will not get a more local organic delicious Maine dinner, and it comes with everything you need + little CANDLES! Ah! (we did have to google how to actually eat the lobster - but we did it!). Excellent communication with her, easy to get more wood when we needed to. Don't miss the Schoodic Peninsula part of Acadia, it's only 15ish minutes from her spot and is much less crowded than the mainland part. The trails on her property are also wonderful and well marked. We heard the seals almost every night, and saw them a couple times. If you're going out on the water - absolutely pay attention to and know the tide schedule!

This is one of the most amazing places I’ve ever camped. Private. Quiet. With the most tranquil beach. The hospitality was also amazing. I highly recommend a lobster dinner through Lily.

The Point! I don't even know where to start, my advice is just book it! The views are phenomenal! The solitude and feeling like you're on your own private woodsy beach is amazing. Lily was a super accommodating host! Very quick to reply with any concerns, questions and recommendations! Her property is perfectly situation between Acadia. Only 45 minutes to MDI and 25 to Schoodic. There are nice trails ON the property if you don't even want to get in the car to leave! It was the most perfect tranquil weekend of nature and solitude I was looking for!! I can't wait to make plans to go back!!!

Beautiful location, right on the water. We saw a few hikers (briefly), but otherwise, we enjoyed the privacy of this site. We hope to return soon!

Beautiful property, so peaceful! Glad we got a clear night with stars, the views were astounding. We had a great time checking out winter harbor but the ferry was inconsistently running, just as a heads up in case you were counting on taking it into bar harbor. Lily was a great host, we had an amazing time!

You guys. I almost wish this hadn’t been my first Hipcamp experience because it’s going to be impossible to top!!! Lily was born to be a hostess and her love for her land and the people that come to experience it is palpable. The site was even more beautiful than in the pictures and super quiet. We were so close to everything Acadia (and I contend that the Schoodic side is waaaay better than the main park) as well as little restaurants and businesses and towns with farmer’s markets (like Winter Harbor)…. it was all exactly the Maine I was looking for. One night Lily shared some clams (harvested like, twenty yards away in the bay) and perfect greens from her gorgeous garden with me. Pretty sure I don’t need to say how magical that dinner was! I can’t recommend this site and this host highly enough. Thank you, Lily - we’ll definitely be back!!
