Enjoy the comforts of home at some sites—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
My husband and I bought this property in January of 2020. The main house was just a shell but, we had a vision for it. We were so excited about the history of the home and land. Bill Irwin, his family, and his dog “Orient” owned the property and stayed in the “camp house” located below while building the main house. Bill was legally blind and Orient was his guide dog. Bill and orient hiked the Appalachian trail and received awards as well as a book written called "Blind Courage.” Bill passed away before he could finish the home. We felt it would be nice to fix up the house below and make it a tribute to Bill and Orient being we had been left quite a few artifacts of theirs. Unfortunately after looking into fixing it up, it was suggested to tear it down. Then we made the decision to clean up the land for campers. We hope people can come enjoy the peacefulness that we have so much enjoyed for the past 3 years. We have fiber wifi access throughout the property and a full community kitchen, shower room, and sitting area that is close to all of our cabins and tent sites.

Site 1 The Robin
Perfect memories!
Sheryl has something special going at Soul Retrieve Hill. We booked The Robin site several months ahead of the April 8 2025 hoping we would have a good view right from the site. The 18” of snow a day or so before our arrival meant we would experience Maine’s mud season 🤩 in all its glory. We arrived to yes mud but Sheryl had already laid out her own mud rug which meant we had a large area to walk on without getting too muddy. A game changer! So thoughtful. This is how the entire site is run. Clean and quickly heated bathrooms with never ending hot water to the community area that made some harder parts of camping much easier. I would call it boutique camping and will definitely go back. Any request or question was quickly answered. Oh, and yes! We had a perfect view of the eclipse and completely clear skies. Thank you Maine and Thank You Sheryl for providing family memories and experiences we’ll never forget 😊😊 Hope to share some pics of the eclipse soon.

The Humming Bird
Soul Retrieve-Hill is such a nice camping spot. It's easy to see that Sheryl puts a lot of care and love into running her camp. I look forward to coming back. Thank you for being so gracious, Sheryl! Sebec is gorgeous!

Soul Retrieve-Hill The Chickadee
Tent site was very clean, tent space flat and clearly marked. Bathroom in the kitchen space was excellent; 10/10 would recommend.

Site 1 The Robin
The site was great. Weather not so much but that was much made up for by the communal building they have on site which is amazing. Like a full kitchenette breakfast bar with Wi-Fi all tucked into a nice little space that's out of the rain. I will say that the porta potties which each site has are the cleanest that I have ever seen by far.
