Boat access only- take a short boat ride/paddle across beautiful Whetstone Pond to a private dock. Secluded off-grid camp nestled between two year round homes. Camp is a small lot featuring one rustic Maine Lean-To with one full screen wall facing the water, comfortably sleeps two (cots provided) with kitchen storage. Bathroom tent with portable toilet offers privacy. Secondary platform by waterfront offers ample space for a secondary tent, screen house, etc. Picnic table provided. Warm up or cook by the fire with lakeside mountain views. Enjoy a hot shower by the water in our fun, outdoor shower and use warm water in the sink, with the use of our instant hot water heating system. Off grid but still very relaxing.

The good: Absolutely beautiful and relaxing. Instant hot water for a hot shower and washing up makes it feel less like camping and more like a vacation. Absolutely great fishing, one of Maines naturally sustaining trout ponds. 25 minutes south of Moosehead Lake. Lots to do in the area both north and south.

The bad: Some parts of the ground are a bit soft and a little soggy. We are in the process of firming up these patches but be aware. There are some roots and stumps as well. There are two year round homes on both sides. You can see one from some spots of the property the other is pretty well hidden by trees. Still pretty private but not isolated private.

The ugly: honestly not much. The lean two isn’t the prettiest but is functional.

If you've read this far and are interested but don't have a boat, don't worry. Feel free to message me, we may be able to arrange something.  We also have a canoe, with paddles and lifevest that live on-site and are available for use. An "add on/extra" option for a guided boat trip to the sight is also available for an additional cost.

My wife and I took a weekend to get away from the craziness and relax. This get away was perfect. We packed foods and some camping gear and left everything behind. Between drinking Busch while cooking dinner over an open flame and observing the beauty around and fishing the gorgeous surroundings there was no better way to get away. The hiking was surreal. The people around were nice. The cozy camp area was clean and accommodating. The site was easy to get to following the directions provided and easily identifiable with the fun pink Buffalo. The path helped show the firm grounds and where to walk as some of the grounds were a little wet/soft outside, nothing my timberland boots couldn’t handle. At night it was even lit up with energy and eco friendly lanterns. Overall if you want a fun camping experience in a quaint area this is a great place to go.
