When looking for a place to camp we wanted something we could reserve because we knew we'd be heading up after work & it may be late, so we didn't want to have to search for an available spot in the backcountry/public land etc, but we're also not fans of family campgrounds with RVs & crowds & people & everything. This was the perfect solution.
We loved being able to bring the dogs, who enjoyed swimming endlessly in the river. We loved that we never saw any people & felt fairly secluded. It was relaxing to float in the river & have a fire one night. Camp was mostly clean.
If you go into it knowing it's not the most obvious "road" to camp, then it's not too hard to find, check the pictures of the entrance so you know what you're looking for & pay attention to the directions.
Traffic from across the river is quite noisy.
The road did get a little slick after the rain and we needed 4wd in the truck on the way out this morning.
One night two strange dogs appeared at camp, which was startling & made our pups very unhappy. When we got ours into crates, the dogs were gone & we never saw which way they came from or which way they went. Never saw or heard humans looking for them either. Not sure if they were local dogs or visiting but something to keep in mind.
The path to the river is fairly sketchy & steep, especially after some rain. We were glad we opted not to bring kayaks, but still enjoyed some fishing and swimming and floating on the water.

We absolutely loved Holly's spot. So private and peaceful. The only downside was how tight it was to maneuver just a small 8ft pop-up. I wouldn't recommend bringing anything larger than that.
We definitely will be back.
Thanks Holly.

There’s a grill, fire pit, tiki torches, plenty of wood around, the water is clear and warm, lots of fish, and there is an outhouse. Make sure to preferably have AWD and be careful driving to the campsite.
Overall the place is really nice, but the drive in is quite rough. Wouldn’t recommend anything smaller than a SUV. There were people walking through and driving through in the morning which was fine but not preferred for me. The road across the river is pretty noisy. But it’s secluded and out in the woods if that’s what you’d prefer.
Holly's land was amazing. I loved that it was only 10 minutes from a town if you need something but private and secluded. Holly had a clearing set up with a firepit for us to use. There are also Tiki torches, but make sure to bring lots of oil. The road is rough, i would definitely recommend 4 wheel drive. We did bring our trailer with us and our kayaks. The water was the perfect temperature for swimming. We were able to catch a few fish while we were there. There is plenty of wood but bring a saw! There is road noise across the river but during the night it was quiet. We had a blast and will definitely be back.
