Great location for camping!
Great stay! Exactly as pictured! I was a bit confused when I first arrived, because there are 2 different campsites, and I was unsure which was mine, but i was able to figure it out.
While I didn’t get a chance to meet Jed, the woman who checked me in was super nice. There was water and firewood waiting for me. The site was quiet and while I heard the other two sites cars sometimes, it was definitely not as bad as a park campground. This trip was last minute so it was perfect driving distance to Acadia (about 30 minutes) and Ellsworth has everything you need and is cheaper than Bar Harbor. Would stay again!
Great time staying at the Birch Gate Campsite! Check in was easy, Jedidah was helpful, and the campsite had everything we needed for a great stay. Would certainly recommend this campsite!
A beautiful hidden gem
We loved our stay! The campsite is in a beautiful hidden spot on property and a short walk from where we parked. It was so nice to have the picnic table for our cooking needs.
Relaxing hideaway from local life.
Campsite felt secluded even in a populated area. Plenty of drinkable water. Jee made sure we felt welcomed. The drum circle that we heard before bed helped lullus to sleep. The shower in the morning was naturally cold. As stated, it is solar heated. I would imagine late afternoon would provide a warmer water. Outhouse was clean and had sanitizer available.
Happy place of seclusion
After a couple days in the busy Acadia Park staying here was a welcome break from all the crowds and people. While the spot was close to food and a great liquor store (Global Beverage Warehouse) we had privacy at our site and loved our stay here. It was a great place to relax by the camp fire and unwind after a full day of activities. The privy was clean and well stocked. Jedidiah communicated with me about all questions and met us upon arrival. I'd recommend staying here to anyone that wants some seclusion and quiet and enjoys primitive camping. I'd definitely come back!
Everyone at the camp was super friendly and welcoming. The site was secluded from the others, but you could hear neighboring campers and the parking spots. We didn’t try the solar shower, but we did hit up the YMCA for some hot showers on our way out.
Awesome stay! great price!
We arrived extremely late but Jed was still there to greet us. He was super patient and led us to our site and parking with a light. Our site wasn’t as secluded as the others but a very short walk from the outhouse. The drive to Acadia is about 20-30 mins and there are plenty of stores around if you need anything. We stayed 4 nights and had no issues. There’s a YMCA you can shower at on your way out to Acadia. Highly recommend booking this spot!
