Fall Foliage Paradise
Camping on Great Cranberry Island was such a cool experience! The campsite was well organized and had beautiful views. Gary was a super friendly and communicative host. He provided us with detailed instructions and helpful tips for our trip that made the whole experience a breeze. The campsite's proximity to Acadia was perfect, and the fall foliage was some of the best I've ever seen!! Looking forward to camping here again!

October Camping
What a dream place to camp! We are camping our way around Acadia for my birthday, and this spot was perfect. The ferry was running on the fall schedule, so we caught the 3:30 ferry to Great Cranberry and the instructions for the golf cart were easy. We brought a little fold up cart to make transporting our gear easier. But the site cannot be beat! A view of the water, plenty of paths around the island to explore, and the site itself was clean and felt very safe. The Preble Cove trail near the museum was really easy and what a view at the end! We even got to see a beautiful Kingfisher that hung around our site. I absolutely would come back here in a heartbeat.

Magical stay!
We stayed on Cranberry Island with our family of five. We have 3 boys under five years old. We absolutely loved our stay at Gary’s farm! It was short, due to weather, but oh so sweet! Gary’s location is just off the beaten path and was a short walk or bike to the Main Street. We meet Gary our first night there and he was very welcoming and great with our kids! The farm is breath taking to say the least! Very magical!
While we were there we went biking multiple times -the main road is fairly short and very scenic (you can pay to take your bikes on the ferry out of northeast harbor- definitely worth the extra money), went swimming at preble beach, caught crabs on preble beach, ate lunch at the cafe, had ice cream at the cafe, took a ride to the end of the island on the golf cart provided by cranberry island museum, played with legos at the museum and just enjoyed our time waking around the island.
All in all cranberry island has our family’s heart! It’s was a wonderful experience and stay! Till next time! <3

We absolutely loved staying at Gary’s - our time at his land & on Great Cranberry Island was the highlight of our trip. His property is beautiful & Gary is a one of a kind guy. If you want to experience some true Maine beauty - grab a lobster roll from Beal’s & hop the ferry to Great Cranberry Island. When you get to the pier just follow the road to the tennis court, hang a left, then hang a right at the first gravel road & when the road ends a little slice of paradise begins.
