Great camp experience
What a cool space. Really enjoyed the set up of the tent and the fire pit. There is a cool shelf built into two trees where Brendan put water, cooking utensils, a cast iron pan and a French press among other items which was very helpful. We kept the yurt flaps open so we could wake up and see the ocean in the morning. Short ride to convenience stores if you forget a lighter (oops). Felt very secluded. Awesome star gazing at night too.
Get ready for your stay on this spectacular remote camp site where the only sounds you’ll hear are the waves crashing on your private coast, the faint rumble of the early morning lobster boats, and the bullfrog that rules the wetlands below. You’ll have a spectacular sunset view over the ocean every evening followed by the darkest star filled sky at night. All of this while just 30 minutes away from the best of what Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor have to offer. A few specific tips for this site: 1. Bring a head lamp for the walk to the outhouse. 2. When trying to access the water, walk down the private drive a little further and walk out to the gravel bar to avoid getting wet feet (especially during high tide). 3. I was a bit worried after seeing a recent review recommend an SUV to access the site due to some ruts in the drive, but we managed with a VW Golf with some careful maneuvering. Have fun!
Beyond magical experience
From the very moment we drove up to this campsite, we knew it was something magical. It’s a perfect lookout into the bay, with bald eagles, seals, and woodpeckers as an audio backdrop to an unbelievable view. Host was so responsive and conscientiousness - will definitely be back soon! The campsite was private, clean, and so comfortable with a wonderful tent and cozy bed, to a fire pit and cooking station with mugs and supplies. Not only will I recommend it to others — I will be booking it multiple time in the next year (so get it while you can)
Great trip! will camp here again!
The campsite is great! Very private, but also only a 20-30 minute drive from any hiking in Acadia! The parking spot is about a 500 foot walk from the tent and outhouse! Very doable to walk from car to tent with all your gear as it’s a very clear path! Having some of the kitchen essentials is a really nice touch, as is the canvas tent and bed! It’s glamping meets full primitive camping so it’s a nice happy medium! Great job Brendan!
Such a beautiful area! The site is super nice and the bed is comfy. You couldn’t ask for a more peaceful spot! Brendan was responsive and helpful. Only thing I would say make sure you have some type of small suv or larger. There is some divots on the unpaved road to the site but not bad if you have a suv.
We had such an amazing time at this tent site. It offers great views in a private area. The bed was comfortable and the tent kept us warm early mornings. There was an Eagle we watched 2 mornings in a row flying right over the tent site. Also had deer walking right below us at night. Loved watched the sunset as we cooked dinner over the fire. Definitely will be back next year!
