Places to see near Barbara O.’s Land
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We had to emergency book because of a mishap with our previous arrangements and I could not have been more grateful. Barbara was incredibly warm and welcoming. We had a hot shower and were able to cook dinner on a fire outside. There are ample spots to pitch a tent (which is what we had), but enough room for an RV as well. Beautiful spot and home. Barbara was even prepared to make us hot tea/coffee before our send off in the morning. Was the most perfect detour we could have imagined!
Late night welcome
Barbara’s place is lovely. Her home is located about 20 minutes from town so you have access to lots of amenities while you stay in a more rural setting. She graciously accepted a late night request from me. I only needed a quick overnight stop so did not have a chance to experience all aspects of her property. Barbara is very welcoming and friendly.
In one word, “home”
Me and my brother were on our way to TX from MA. A “road trip” for some good old fashioned bonding time. We hit many states and many cities in our travels but the hospitality and the friendliness and over all warm feeling of family exists on this site. This site was by far our favorite place on the trip. We thought long and hard about staying one more night and risking delay to our destination. 5 stars is an understatement. I will be back to visit and stay as soon as I can.
Barbara and her little farm were a delight! She was such a great host and was such a blessing that our night camping felt like we were at home. If you’re wanting to visit New Orleans while camping, Barbara’s home is the place to be!
I loved this site! Barbara was such a great host and my pup and I really enjoyed our time here. The drive to New Orleans isn’t bad at all. Barbara said the area also has great kayaking. I hope to come back and check the rest of the area out. I definitely recommend staying here!
Near new orleans & great host
The campsite is a little more than an hour away from New Orleans. There’s plenty of space to set up camp, the host, Barbara, is very welcoming and generous with kitchen and bathroom use. It’s fun to meet the goats and talk with Barbara about the things to see when visiting New Orleans. Had a lovely stay and may look to return on future trips to New Orleans.
