We have lived here over two decades. Our modest 5-acre property is home to Renée and Sean and our two dogs, two cats, and Maggie the horse. We live and work here full-time and absolutely love summers on the Southfork. We have 4 acres in hay and a huge garden. We both have workshops on the property and enjoy meeting and hosting travelers, since we spend so much time out here by ourselves.  We don't yet have bathroom access set up for travelers, so we are offering only to self-contained campers and small RVs at this time. But we can provide electricity, wifi, potable water, and coffee with muffins in the morning. Learn more about this land: We can accommodate only self-contained camping vehicles up to 24ft. (This is important – larger vehicles will not be able to turn around). We provide electricity and water, but no bathrooms at this time and no dump station.  Park your small trailer/RV in our cottonwood grove and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Southfork valley in northwest Wyoming. We are a retired couple who want to share our stunning mountain views and rural property with travelers who share the Hipcamp values. Easy access to hiking, hunting, fishing, biking. The elevation here is 5600ft. so even when days are warm and sunny – usually in the 80s – nights cool off into the 50s. You would be close to the house but screened by a grove of trees. We have 5 acres in a beautiful rural area.  We are a 20 minute drive from Cody, in a beautiful mountain valley. Our place is perfect for a night or two of respite from travel and tourist traffic. Sean is a retired wildlife biologist with extensive knowledge of the area. Renée is a designer/educator.

Southfork of the Shoshone River.
My husband and I had the best time staying at this Hipcamp site. Sean and Renee are wonderful hosts who are warm and welcoming. Sean had great advice for hiking trails in Yellowstone and just had a wealth of knowledge about the area. They have two dogs who are the best furry friends anyone could ask for. 10/10 would recommend!

Tranquil, gorgeous place to stay.
Sean's place is absolutely lovely. It's 25 minutes up the road from Cody, past the reservoir, on the south fork of the Shoshone River. The RV spot is under two old cottonwood trees, next to the garden and the horse pasture. There is a table and a swinging chair, which is a lovely place to read or have a snack. In the evening we took pictures of the Great Horned Owl family that was hanging out. The stars are amazing. We were sad to not stay our second night in favor of being closer to Yellowstone, but we will definitely be back if we stay in Cody again. The only note is that the RV spot is pretty close to the house.

Beautiful farm outside of Cody
Sean and Renee were very welcoming on their beautiful piece of property. We tent camped on their side yard in a flat area with a few mature trees and a picnic table, next to a pasture where their horse grazed. Upon arrival, we saw a huge owl fly by. Thank you, Sean and Renee - it was wonderful meeting you!

Beautiful place to stay
After leaving Yellowstone and wanting to stay there to see wildlife at dusk, this was a perfect place to stay over night without driving too far. Beautiful shady spot with a picnic table, safe, and Sean was very friendly, nice, and helpful. I would highly recommend this site without hesitation!

Stayed at Walmart
Parking is in the front yard, and not what we expected. Host sounded drunk on the phone. And when we called him upon arrival after just speaking with him, we got a fax machine. We left and stayed at Walmart.

Great host for sure, Sean was very welcoming and is an all round phenomenal guy. Gave me best routes to take, recommended restaurants and even gave me a map in case I were to get lost. The piece of land you will be staying on is open with wide open skies for phenomenal views in the morning. Be aware that it is right next to the main road so you can hear each car go by but luckily there isn't a lot of traffic.

Great Views
Nice site, great views. There were deer grazing just outside our camper for a few hours our first night. Extension cord and water provided. About an hour drive to the east entrance of Yellowstone. It was super windy while were there, so we weren't able to get out and use the picnic table or fire ring, but they are there for nicer days. Thank You!

Cosy in Cody
An idyllic setting as shown in the photos. Peaceful. Gorgeous view of the mountains. Sean welcomed and helped us get set up before sharing ideas of what to do and where to eat. The Meatery was a win, providing us with top quality steaks which we thoroughly enjoyed cooking and eating at the picnic table

A true Wyoming experience
We loved our stay at Southfork Retreat in this beautiful valley - a spot for our van under big cottonwoods, with a picnic table and glider next to the vegetable garden. Sandhill cranes settled for the night in a nearby field, and we had breakfast outside with Sean’s horse. Sean and Renee both made time to visit with us, and we especially appreciate Sean’s advice on travel routes and hikes to look for. Sean and Renee are among Wyoming’s treasures - we feel lucky they shared their land with us.

Beautiful spot and helpful host
I wish I’d allowed myself more time to stay here. I was parked under a beautiful tree and the wind blowing through the branches lulled me to sleep. Picnic table and a freestanding bench swing made for a functional and comfortable place to make coffee and breakfast and enjoy the beginning of the day. Their garden was brimming with flowers and veggies. The site was well kept and their dog well behaved and friendly Sean was kind and helpful. He offered Some great local tips and if I get back this way I’ll definitely stay again. The wind is pretty strong there; Sean said it blows year round. A wonderful place to visit.

Gateway to Yellowstone
Sean met us as we arrived, and helped us get settled. We were able to hook up to 20 Amp power and top off our fresh water. This was a great location to park to the RV for the evening on our way to Yellowstone NP. The view would have been fantastic, but unfortunately, fires in California were blanketing most of Wyoming in haze. Hopefully we can stop in the future.

Great place to stay super close to Cody and about an hour from Yellowstone. Sean is a retired guide and has tons of tips.... listen to them all! Read his directions carefully for arrival, he’s laid it all out for you. We also had the bonus generosity of helping ourselves from their garden. Absolutely recommend and I would stay here again any tine I’m in the area.

What a wonderful place to stay! We were greeted by the hosts (from a Covid safe distance) and set up camp with the backdrop of the mountains. The site was quiet and our kids had enough space to run around a bit after a long day in the car.

Great scenery, location, and hosts!
This place was A-MA-ZING! A beautiful location just outside of Yellowstone. The hosts were incredibly friendly and even offered us veggies from their garden (which went great with our steak)! Close to town for quick errands, but far enough to feel secluded. A view of Buffalo Bill Reservoir is right behind the house and only takes about 5 minutes to get to. No light pollution, so the starry sky was beautiful. The ONLY downside was the lack of hookups for our trailer. Even still, my husband I would definitely (and probably will) stay again!

Great Site for Family and Pets.
Sean was a great host. The site is.clean and neat. There is a flower and vegetable garden. The site is not far from the Buffalo Bill Museum and Downtown Cody. Sean has wifi. The signal is not too strong, but adequate. Sean knows much about the area and used to be a nature guide in Yellowstone. Sean is retired and spends his days in his knife shop. Definitely stay here if you are in the area. The site is good for family and pets.

A rising star in Wyoming!
Sean and Rene are two of the most pleasant Hipcamp folks you'll ever want to meet. They're concerned about your welfare, have a gorgeous little spot next to their pasture which looks at mountains aced foothills from 3 sides and is very peaceful, right down to the gurgling of the irrigation ditch up near the road. Such a soothing sound. They're right about their size restriction in their site bio. Pay heed. We have a 27' 5th wheel and a crew cab, and we made it but the 2 turns are tight, especially so at the road. Fact is it's a warm and welcoming HC, only an hour from Yellowstone, 35 miles from the 700k+ Shoshone Ntl Forest and 15 minutes from Cody. Give Sean and Rene a try if you're here. You'll find them to embody the principals of Hipcamp!
