The Shores at Lake DeSmet is a developing subdivision and we acquired the property early on.  We enjoy this property often during the Summer months and always love the view, wildlife and playing in the lake.  Water skiing, wakeboarding and recreational boating is our favorite, but enjoy fishing as well and have caught some beautiful rainbows on DeSmet.  The boat ramps are great and the beaches on the opposite shore are some of our favorites! We want you to enjoy this spot, but ask that you respect the neighbors and the property.  Learn more about this land: Pull in and enjoy the views. There are 3 boat ramps within a mile of the camp and you can choose to explore which one suits your needs the best. The Lake Stop offers fuel, food, groceries and liquor. The entire shoreline of Lake DeSmet is public access by water, but private by land for access outside of designated areas. Enjoy trout, walleye, perch and carp fishing along with all water sports on this fresh water lake.

Site 2 - DeSmet Overview
Overall we had a good experience. The lake is beautiful. This campsite is in a “neighborhood “ per say. There are some campers but lots of homeowners and new construction vacation homes? One night a couple, assuming a land owner, walked onto our campsite and asked if we were the land owners. The whole interaction was very off putting. So overall the lake is beautiful but I would not stay at that campsite. Also no access to the water.

Site 1 - DeSmet Overview
Beautiful, and Relaxing.
Our stay was fantastic. The sight was clean and ready for us upon arrival. The view of the lake was spectacular, not to mention the peace and quiet. You could hear a needle drop. For us that was priceless. We saw Antilope and an Eagle everyday. We had many questions pryor to arrival and the host, Chad was patient and very informative. Best experience we've had in a long time in any state.
