Overall I had a good experience, since I was the only person there til my last night. Just not a fan of how many sites there on such a small lot. Not a campground fan so this isn't for me.

Host is super friendly, we got in late and she had built a fire for us. Campsite was wonderful for tent camping, amenities (including bathroom/porta john) were nice and clean. Great star visibility.

The hospitality that Afton provided was impeccable, by far the best I’ve experienced with Hipcamp and I use Hipcamp a lot. Not only was she a great host but a super cool gal as well and she put me onto one of the best local fishing spots too. 10/10 would recommend and I would 100% stay here again and you should too!

Simply amazing! Nice n clean. Great host. Lots of firewood. Beautiful landscaping. So many types of rocks. Great shower. Nice fir pits. Everything is new and fresh. This is the way camping is supposed to be in Beautiful wisconsin. Around the area has amazing farms and a large amish culture that is very intriguing. Thank you so much!

I'm a hammock camper and a trout fisherman, and W.H.Y. campground had the perfect setup for me. Afton was very hospitable and helpful when I needed anything. The location put me just minutes from several really good trout streams. It was exactly what I was hoping for.

Afton is on a mission to make her camping retreat something special, it was a treat coming midweek with some extra privacy and ample time to chat with her and learn the story of her hipcamping experience. She went above and beyond for me from start to finish and look forward to seeing how the property develops in the coming years, so much respect 🙏🏼

Great price, super friendly host, excellent firewood, clean bathroom. The driveway in was a bit steep, but unless it had recently rained, it will be fine for every kind of vehicle. The tent sites were on a bit of hill, but thankfully I was there on a day where there was very few other campers, so the host let me pick any site I wanted including the RV sites (which were flat). There is very little privacy between sites, but then again, this didn't affect me since there were very few people there that night. If it was busy, then that would have been an issue. Overall, I had a great camping experience there.

Afton was very friendly, and it was easy to get into the property and set up. It was helpful to have firewood on site and she offered to help us light our fire since it had recently rained, as well as provided information about the area and emergency protocol if needed.
The sites are pretty close together but there were only two other campers when we were there so we had plenty of space. Some of the sites were slightly sloped so it may be difficult to find level ground for a larger tent.

I am a frequent vistor to camp WHY. Afton has always been a great host. Ignore any nay-sayer's reviews. I had motorcycle trouble last time on the way to visit and she was willing to do a lot to help me out. I am not saying she will do that for everyone but she is a person worth getting to know. If you are respectful of her and her property then she is aces.

We just had a wonderful weekend at WHY Camp! Afton was very helpful and accommodating. Offered wood, portable shower, flexibility in early check-in and late checkout. Checked on us to make sure we had what we needed. Very peaceful atmosphere. Great home base for our Richland County adventures! WHY camp there - cuz it’s great!

Afton was a great host and helped me out so much. She was friendly and went out of her way to assist me with a problem I was having with my camper. The campground is quiet, beautiful and peaceful. I would definitely stay here again.

When we arrived, we were able to pick a spot that made the most sense for our set up. Afton immediately got us hooked up with electrical since we had added that to our stay. She checked in with us often to see if we needed anything. The slope of the drive way was a bit steep on the one side so I would recommend keeping to the right! Overall, we had a great stay!

Just what I was looking for quiet and friendly. No golf carts flying around your campsite at all hours of the day! They had a 30 amp hookup. When pulling in your rig try to come from county road I so that you can take the Less steep driveway into the camping area.

Had a great unplugged weekend at Afton’s! My dogs loved running around and playing with each other. It was peaceful and very pretty outside. Perfect weather great place to just relax and get away from everything. Everything was set up in a great spot. Super awesome host. Easy to talk to helped me with anything I needed!!! Had a great time, would recommend this place if you are looking to unwind and be at peace with yourself!!

Whatever you do, don’t pull onto the grass! Even though it says no where in the ad not to and there’s photos of vehicles parked right near the power box in the grass. We arrived, just before 10pm for our stay due to some traffic encountered in our cross country travels and when we arrived we pulled into the area near the power that we had booked for our stay and the host yelled and cursed us for pulling onto the yard that we didn’t know not to park in. They yelled at us some more saying we were late and booked the wrong site, and after getting approval to bring an extra car we drove she yelled at us for that too, going back on her earlier approval of our situation, and was overall the coldest host we have encountered for a stay. To the point it made my wife not feel safe and we contemplated leaving even after having paid for this spot. The neighbors dogs barked off and on all night and the port a potty could do for an emptying. Out of the last 2 weeks worth of hip camps we have stayed at, this one easily ranks as our least favorite.

I enjoyed my 2 nights at W.H.Y. It was quiet (except for barking dogs across the street), peaceful, and relaxing. Site was clean, pottery and trash close by and clean. Afton was friendly and professional. Offered me water and asked if I needed anything when she went into town. Was a lovely spot to relax in for a few days.

WHY Camp was an amazing place to spend the weekend. Afton is one of the most kind and attentive hosts we have ever had. If you have any concerns from previous posts, there are no cats on the property. We found the property nicely maintained and peaceful. Afton was more than willing to share or provide just about anything we could ask for.

WHY camp was enjoyable for the whole family. The children loved searching for fairies while us parents wandered the trees. Took a short drive south for some awesome trout fishing. Ended up cutting out a night early due to a higher percentage of rain called for the area for our final morning. Made the call to make life easier and pack up while everyone was dry. Overall a great time. Plenty to do with the offer of bocce ball, Disc golf baskets, ninja courses in the trees, fantastic trout streams. As well as just the woods themselves. We'll be back in the future!

Had a very relaxing few days in the woods. Afton was a great host: very attentive but not too much. She let us settle in and then came down to check on us a few times. Had a great conversation about the property and the healing vibes she hopes to cultivate there. It was the middle of the week so we had the place to ourselves. Very dog friendly and our small pup Rizzo also had a great time running around finding things to smell. A few people have mentioned cats but they're no longer on the property.

WHY Camp is a wonderfully serene and quiet spot, that was perfect for our family to escape to on a last minute Memorial Day Weekend camping trip. Our kids had a blast exploring the ninja obstacle course set up in the trees. Our host told us all about the fairies who love to visit WHY Camp, and the kids spent a good part of their time watching for them, adding a little touch of magic to our stay. The campsite itself was beautiful, with a special emphasis on the starry night sky. Thanks WHY camp for the great memories!
