Today, the resort is still in the hands of the Ward family, with Ronald Ward, the son of Dick and Merce, and his wife Stephanie at the helm. Their son Kyle and his wife Dawn manage the resort, ensuring that the welcoming atmosphere and family traditions continue. While the number of cabins has grown to accommodate more guests, the original cabins, Cabin #1 and Cabin #2, remain as charming relics of the past, each over a century old. Guests flock to Ward’s Resort for a variety of experiences. Fishing enthusiasts often seek the elusive walleyes that Balsam Lake is renowned for, while others find tranquility lounging on the swim raft or enjoying the gentle sway of the bench swing.
