Our Trapper Arts Retreat - Bob Lake property includes (3) RV/tent waterfront sites and (3) wooded rustic non-waterfront tent only sites. The land is on both sides of a 1/4 mile long dead-end road (178th Street) back to the log house which is also listed on Airbnb if you have friends that prefer a cabin. We also have an large Hipcamp listing across the lake that is called Bob Lake West that has power and water and a small shed and outhouse. The Chippewa County Forest (16,000 acres) Hickory Ridge trail head is located only 5 minutes away. You can enjoy miles of hiking, biking, ATV or horseback riding trails. Trails wind past small lakes and beaver ponds, as well as spectacular vistas and abundant wild life. LIST OF SITES: Birch Waterfront has a nice large level gravel pad with waterfront access via a long dock out to the water for fishing and boating. Rustic Wooded Lots are set back off the road on a hillside for a more rustic secluded campsite and is only for tents. Eagle Point is a favorite because it is surrounded by trees and is on a elevated waterfront lot with steps down to a dock, canoe and spectacular sunset views. The eagle's nest is in a tall pine tree above the steps! Large Waterfront Site is perfect for groups and multiple campers (no more than 3 please). This site is at lake level and has easy access. There is a dock and kayak available also. This property was previously owned by Trapper Art who was well known in the area and started several businesses dating back to 1967 including Art's Snowmobile, Trapper Arts, and Art's Electric which was quite an accomplishment in the Wisconsin Northwoods!

Bob Lake - Birch Waterfront
We absolutely loved our stay on Bob Lake. This location is incredible, and our hosts were accommodating and kind. We tent camped, hung up solar lights, and spent as much time on the lake as we could. This was a private space, perfect for our reactive dog. He has the best time laying on the dock! We stayed in late May and recommend mosquito and tick protection!

The hosts are amazing and very flexible. The view was amazing and the lake was perfect! The campsite had its own personal dock for my boat and made the weekend even better. Clean. Tidy. Perfect!!!!

Bob Lake - Eagle Point Waterfront
This was by far one of the most peaceful getaways we have ever had as a family. It was off-season, so we were relatively alone. The scenery was stunningly beautiful. The campsite was clean and peaceful. Everything about this mid October getaway was just what we needed to get out of the end of summer funk! I highly recommend staying at the site. Take some time to breeze in the beautiful scenery and peaceful lake.

First time campers!
My family's first time camping! It was an amazingly fun experience! We were there for 2 nights. The view of the lake is gorgeous in the morning! And really dark and peaceful at night. Large and open space enough for 2 large tents and a canopy. More than enough space for a group of 10. Fire wood was provided at the site, even though we brought our own 6 bundles of fire wood we barely had enough for the weekend. Water and power was available. Cellular service was rarely available download music/movies for kids before hand. This location is a 10/10 for first timer family's who want a fun getaway.

Great family camping trip spot!
What a great spot on a semi-secluded lake! We had a great weekend with family and spent a lot of time enjoying the great view of the water and letting our dog swim. The site itself has two electrical hookup areas, and one water spigot. The Airbnb next door is close, but we didn’t notice the people staying there except when they would arrive and leave. There’s enough distance to forget that it’s there. The road is very quiet, almost no cars drive by. We were warned that we would likely not have cell service, but we all had at least a bar of service on Verizon (enough to do the usual scrolling online and text/call). The one thing that could’ve been better was the toilet situation. The site has two portapotties, but they were not in good condition upon our arrival. They were quite full and seemed to have no deodorizer in them. They seemed to not be regularly emptied or maintained. We made due, but it was less than ideal — if you have your own toilet in your camper, maybe this doesn’t matter to you. Just wanted to share our experience. Other than that, we absolutely loved our stay and would love to return next year!

A perfect camp site
Everything about this camp site great. It's definitely a private camp site, the whole time I was there we didn't see anyone beside a few cars that was driving by. It's spacious and right next to the lake. The stars was amazing at night. Saw a lot of shooting stars. Water and electricity is right on the site. I would come back here again and again.

Nice quiet camp site
This is our first Hipcamp site and it was so much better than going to a campgrounds. We wanted a site that was far away from other campers and quiet. This site was perfect for that and also provided beautiful lake views.

Bob Lake - Eagle Point Waterfront
Spacious and fairly secluded on a peaceful lake. We had a group of 8 stay (5 tents) and had plenty of space. We even had room to put up a 10x10 tent and back a truck rught up to it to have a nice dry oasis from the rain. Being able to cook on both the grill and on the fire made cooking for a large group much easier! I'm say the only negatives here are a lack of truly flat ground for puddle-free tent pitching in the rain and the fact that there's a Porta-potty instead of an outhouse. A decent amount of wood was provided, however it wasn't covered so it was fairly wet and we ended up buying firewood down the road. Overall a peaceful, quiet area to get away and enjoy nature and a great basecamp for biking around the Chippewa forest.

This was a great site for us. We set up just in time for rain. The gravel site prevented any puddles so the site dried up nicely. We were able to enjoy the rowboat on site and had fun catching bluegills.

Camping with kids
The campsite was private and beautiful, with easy access to the lake. The lake was calm and peaceful, never busy. Perfect for swimming and paddle boarding! It was perfect. My young kids had fun in the water and playing around the spacious site. We had to run to the hardware store for an extra white drinking water hose to hook to our camper, we couldn’t quite get close enough with the fire pit where it was. Unfortunately, it had rained for a couple days before we arrived and all the firewood on site was wet, even after trying to dry it in the sun. A cover for the firewood would be nice, in an attempt to keep it dry. Definitely BYO if rain is in the forecast before your trip! The port-a-potty on site was definitely filling up and getting pretty gross, so tenters be prepared for that! That being said, the campsite was so dreamy and still highly recommend for a peaceful site with lake access. Would definitely return!

Quiet Solitude of Nature
I’m enchanted by this beautiful, spacious, quiet, private and nature lush lakeside campsite. With electricity and water we enjoyed all our creature comforts while we immersed ourselves in the pines and the lake. I always want to see something new. I will return to this magic place to still myself and get truly present to the wonder of nature. The hosts are great too.

Private lake with many options
It was so nice to have a lake view, dock, kayak and possible rental of pontoon. I was expecting more privacy as VRBO cabin was close by but had so much to do, was not a problem.

Peaceful Beauty
We had a little difficulty finding the camp but Brenda was very helpful. We pulled our little teardrop trailer on to the site that had a nice patio table and four chairs, firepit, water spigot and electric. A porta potty was on site, too. Take some steps down to the lake to find a sweet little dock and a canoe with paddles & life vests. It is the most serene place. We watched the sunset while a pair of loons serenaded us along with owls, coyotes and tree frogs. We can't wait to return to this magical little oasis.

Private spot to swim with dogs!
This site is awesome! Very private and secluded, with your own little dock and lake access. Our two dogs had a blast swimming in the lake with naps breaks in the hammocks we hung from the many trees around the grounds. We saw loons, deer, and listened to coyotes all night. The only thing that was a bummer was the gun shots that kept happening across the lake during the afternoon on Saturday. I’m not sure if it’s a regular occurrence but we head extremely loud gun shots every couple minutes from the time we arrived at 3pm until 6pm. If you have dogs who are afraid of fireworks or thunder, that might be a risk for them. We even heard several shots again in the morning, but luckily it stopped right away. Regardless, we will be back to this special place for sure!!

The site is beautiful!! The lake is beautiful! We had a wonderful stay! We rented the pontoon and working with Mike and a Brenda was great. A few things for suggestion was the outhouse needed a clean. I’m thinking maybe it’s been blocked a time or 2 cause outhouses at their other camp was clean. The lake is small, with a very tight boat landing but well worth it if you know that going in. We loved floating and the quiet and beautiful surroundings. If you plan to hook a camper up to service just make sure you have a long hose and extension cords. All in all 5 out of 5! Will be back!

Private, but lacking amenities
Great if you have a large group and want privacy, but the lake is full of lily pads making dock fishing very difficult. The site only has a fire ring, so be sure to have a table and perhaps a compostable toilet.

Camping with Dogs!
Loved this spot! Very peaceful weekend away! The water was wonderful! Great stairs for the incline very sturdy. The site is very big! Plenty of room for multiple tents. The wood was just a tad damp so had to get dry wood down the road to start the fire but after it was started it burned fine! Will definitely be back!
