The English Pale Campground is located on the Black River in Jackson County, west of the Village of Melrose. The main campground, 70 feet above the river has 4 RV/Travel Trailer/Tent sites in addition to the Manor House which are available for rent. Two additional rustic beach front sites can be found right on the river. The property has a total of 70 acres, which includes the 4+ acre beach, a mile of river front and trails through the woods that connect them all. The English Pale is a new and growing 21+ campground property that offers a reasonable expectation of privacy. We are an adult only property but not a nudist campground. We do not prohibit nudity for the purpose of sunbathing on the beach, campsites or sundeck but it is not allowed in general common areas. Awesome camp site. Peaceful and quiet. Bring bug spray and you’ll be good! I will definitely be coming back.

Really lovely privately owned campground. The campsites are close to each other but we there were nice private areas to pitch the tent in B21. We had the place to ourselves and had a great stay. Make sure to wear insect repellent when you go down to the beach!

Great getaway
Truly an awesome out of the way spot. Our group happen to be there on a weekend with no other campers. Made for a very quiet weekend. Plenty of woods to go hiking, with a river and a beach near by. Plenty of opportunities to go canoeing, fishing, or just listening to the river. Definitely would recommend to anyone who wants to getaway.

I loved tent camping on the beach! Such a great space, my Labrador loved the river! Definitely recommend the round trip haul offered by Cal to the site. It's a trek if youre carrying a cooler. Cal sets out plenty of firewood and theres tons of driftwood to get fires going. Such an amazing place! We will be back. Cal was a very accomodating host and very reachable. Host site does offer a PortaJohn and shower/Water.

Allows you to open carry on his property which is very kind of him please whoever reads this don't abuse that respect it cuz that doesn't happen too often anymore very beautiful property well managed.

Beautiful site, too many mosquitoes
This site was beautiful right on the river. The 10-minute walk was as advertised and no problem. We unfortunately must have been there right after a mosquito hatch which made it entirely unenjoyable. Wish we could have explored the gorgeous beach!
