River Point Campground
Beautiful, quiet, campsite🏕
Mike was so friendly and accommodating to us during our stay. Thank you Mike for being so attentive and kind!
We were greeted by a friendly dog and multiple kitties before heading up to the campsite. Mike’s land is beautiful and very large. There’s a path that circles around his land and offers some great views of the river. The site overlooks the Pecatonica river making for great views of the sun set, moon rise, and sun rise. Not to mention the vast open sky for star gazing. Lots of wildlife to enjoy and bird songs galore. Sandhill cranes were hanging out in the fields below and it was a treat to hear them.
The site is very secluded and perfect if you’re looking for a quiet get away. Lots of space for multiple tents. This site would be great for large groups or anyone wanting lots of space. We enjoyed the coyotes yipping at night and no critters came near the camping site looking for food. There are options for canoeing and hiking nearby. My only regret is not going when the water in the river is warmer to take a dip but I’d love to come back! Highly recommend!
