Healing Hills

This is a great property. Close to a few options for hiking and enjoying the outdoors. Great night skies for looking at the stars. Pit toilets were super clean and well stocked. Highly recommend.

We had such a wonderful experience at Healing Hills! Pat and Beth were fantastic hosts, and we were lucky enough to have the entire campsite to ourselves. Our dogs absolutely loved it—they had the best time running around the trails and just being free. We also brought our baby along, and he had a great time too. The property is beautiful—the rolling hills are stunning, and at night the stars are breathtaking. It was the perfect mix of peaceful, family-friendly, and dog-friendly. We can’t wait to come back!

Perfect spot for a camping getaway and is exactly as described! Nobody else was there so it was very quiet, but do note that the campsites are not the most secluded if you’re looking for lots of privacy. The host was very communicative. We stayed at campsite #4 which was definitely the best and biggest in my opinion 😉

Peaceful seclusion

Camping at Healing Hills was just that! I stayed in site 4 and it was peaceful and secluded. It was perfect for a solo camper or couple, if you have a larger group I’d recommend sites 1-3. Instructions were clear, parking was well-marked and it was only a short walk to the site. Really enjoyed walking the trails around the property with a cup of coffee at sunrise! It’s also a short drive from the Kickapoo Valley Reserve and Wildcat Mt State Park which have miles of wonderful trails. Absolutely would recommend and would stay again!

Highly recommend this Hipcamp, it's exactly like the photos portray – simple and comfortable. The land and scenery are really something special. Very close to Driftless Music Gardens, about 7 minute drive. On a hot August weekend, it was so nice to have access to AC/fans (and comfy beds!), making it a great alternative to tent camping at the festival. We will definitely stay again, thank you Beth and Pat!

Relaxing

The rustic cabin was just what we needed. Quiet. Peaceful. The bed was comfy. Great place for our dog to run. It’s close to Wildcat Mountain State Park and the Kickapoo Valley Reserve. We hiked, played badminton, and roasted marshmallows. We also had a great time at the Hillsboro Brewery. Thank you for sharing your land! Stacy

Site 1 - Shady Hollow

Beth and Pat were friendly, helpful and good communicators when setting up our visit. The site was a beautiful and spacious wooded area equipped with a nice fire pit ring and tripod for cooking. Occasionally, you will hear the clip-clopping of an Amish horse drawn buggy going down the nearby road. The outhouse toilets are very simple but it gets the job done. There isn’t a sink in the bathroom for handwashing so make sure to come prepared with your own set up. If you want to do some fishing or kayaking, I recommend driving over to Hillsboro where they have a wonderful lake. While in Hillsboro, check out the Hillsboro Roadhouse restaurant for some good pizza.

My husband, . I were surveying in the area. Healing Hills was a mile from our job. We had to postpone a day due to weather, and Beth was super accommodating to all our changes/updates. Beth kept in contact with us, directions to the location were spot on. There was a handcart to wheel our gear to the site and firewood to purchase. We cooked on a tripod from another site. There were (2) outhouse buildings with (2) stalls in each building and a water spigot nearby to wash your hands. Healing Hills is a beautiful camp. I would recommend 100%.

Site 5 - Forest Shade 2

We loved this beautiful quiet spot in the woods. We enjoyed site five, which was the furthest removed and quietest site on a full Memorial Day weekend. The site was clean and serene, pit toilets were as nice as any I’ve used, and the location was perfect for a weekend of exploring the Driftless and hiking at Wildcat Mountain State Park. We hiked the property with our kids and pups and found plenty of space for some improvised disc golf and softball catch. The entire family, pups included, had an absolutely wonderful camping experience. Thank you!!!

Site 2 - Sunny Hollow

Campsite was normal! Vegetation in-between sites provided a little privacy. For the price - I think the bathrooms could use an upgrade. The outhouses were functional but some toilet seat lids were broken and there was no hand sanitizer.

Highly recommend Healing Hills! We had campsite #3, which was a great balance of privacy while still being near the “toilets.” Brandon was very friendly and helpful. The land around it was beautiful. We went to Wildcat State Park, which had some great dog-friendly trails.

Absolutely beautiful place, I highly recommend healing hills. The campsites are spacious and the cabin is comfortable and beautiful. The potable water is cold and clean and there are endless things to do on the property. We'll definitely come back to this place again and again.

Excellent spot for a quiet getaway

This property was a perfect escape from the city for a few days! I stayed in one of the cabins and it was maybe 20 feet away from clean running water. The cabin itself was comfortable, heated and had electricity. This is a great central hub to everything in the area from hiking, fishing, or just checking out what's around. The surrounding towns each have their own unique personalities and are worth exploring. Beth and Pat are very friendly and accommodating. They have a great piece of land worth staying on. I will definitely stay again!

Gorgeous views, spacious cabin!

Beautiful spot, fantastic views, and stars filling the sky with the sound of horses and buggies going by in the morning. This place is comfy and cozy with electric heat in the building. We would definitely stay here again! The host was extremely kind and their pup was an angel stopping by the camp a few times to say hi. The house had just about everything you would need to cook and eat as well!

September Campout

We are happy we picked site 3. It was tucked in the middle, up a slight hill and was the perfect space for our larger sized tent. There was some construction noise coming from the neighbor's land, which is visible from sites 1 and 2. It got quiet after 4:30pm and we had a peaceful rest of the evening. We appreciated the cart to help us get our belongings to and from the campsite.

This was a gorgeous, private area and we had a great time over Labor Day weekend. Beth and Pat were very accommodating with helpful tips and instructions even though they were away for the weekend. There are a lot of kayaking/canoeing opportunities within a short drive.

We had a great time camping here. We were in sit 4, which after seeing the others was one of the best in our opinion. We travelled with our two sons and two dogs. We all had a blast. We hung around camp most of the day and relaxed and did some of the walks and trails around our camp. During the day there was a lot of construction sounds from the next property over, but for the most part it was quiet. It was close to town for getting extra stuff we needed and remote enough that my city kids were satisfied!!

My family loved our stay in Beth and Pat's cabin. The kids even asked if we could go back once a month! We hiked the beautiful hill and well-kept trails, and we followed some deer trails for amazing views from the top. Pat was a kind and generous host who had plenty of great recommendations for adventures on the land and around the area! I hope we can find the time in our busy lives to visit these peacful, healing hills again in the near future.

Beautiful property, clean restrooms and clean water. No Internet signal which is good considering there are so many beautiful things to look at instead. 10/10 would recommend! The reviews are good for a reason.
