Oak Shade
All You Need-Northern Lights Bonus
Wonderful glamping spot! The chickens greeted us upon arrival in the driveway, and we gently passed them as we headed on our way down the hill. The site is set aside from the main farm and house, with complete privacy. Amenities that turn this from camping into glamping were the comfy bed made up inside the tent, stove with two propane tanks, water for drinking and washing, cooking equipment, plates, bowls, silverware and washing supplies - all included. You literally just need to show up with your food and enjoy. Bonfire location and multiple seating options were lovely. Note the site faces north with a wide view, so we were able to catch some Northern Lights. Road noise all night was non-existent. Perfect for our peaceful weekend away.

Oak Shade
Lovely little spot with such thoughtful amenities to make this one of the most comfortable (glamping!) Hipcamps we’ve been to. Beautiful views and peaceful surroundings. Very close to governor dodge park for more exploring.

Oak Shade
We absolutely loved our stay at Round River! It was such a beautiful, private and peaceful site with lovely views and everything we needed for our two night stay. We loved the multiple seating areas (deck, swings, fire pit) and our dog loved the creek and being able to be off leash!

Recommended idyllic getaway
Oak Shade was such a lovely stay! The view was awesome, it was what we hoped but better. At night we sat on the swing surrounded by fireflies and in de morning we had fresh eggs from the farm itself. We rent a car from Chicago and drove to Starved Rock State, than we drove al the way up to Oak Shade (stay over) and the next morning we went to Devils Lake. We skipped as much highways as possible and loved botch the sightseeing and the drive. If you want to get out of the for some nature and a road-trip, this one I can recommend as well. A big thanks to the host who made sure that everything was alright. Would definitely recommend to stay here if you like an idyllic getaway.
