This is a wonderful campsite! The best views, very private spot and boats to take out on the lake! The eggs and syrup were both so delicious. We will definitely be back

Camp Escape: The Crossroads
What a great surprise. Tara has a number of sites but I was the only one there. The sites are accessed through a narrow sandy lane and I was able to access with no problems. It was peaceful and serene. I highly recommend and would definitely stay again

Leaning Birch Tree House
A great escape!
What a wonderful escape to Tara's place! The grounds were beautiful with forest hiking trails, a secret garden, and mushrooms galore. While we didn't take the UTV tour, we did see them go by with Tara's doggo in tow. We enjoyed foraging for mushrooms finding 37 varieties on a single hike alone. We were unsuccessful at fishing, but it was fun to take the pedalboat out , our pup sure enjoyed it. We purchased their local honey (delicious with a hint of citrus) and butt nuggets (eggs) that we enjoyed for breakfasts. The Leaning Birch house was perfect for two people and a small dog. Multiple views of the stars, a great little lofted bedroom and everything you could possibly need in the camp kitchen. I hesitate to leave a review for this hidden gem as I want it to be available whenever we want! Multiple campsites as well-- we hiked through most of them. Secluded and spread out--great opportunity to return with friends. Definitely worth the 5 hour drive from Chicago. Thanks for opening up your property and being such a kind host Tara!

Camp Escape: The Seclusion
Great for people and dogs!
We camped in our 20’ travel trailer and enjoyed our stay here so much. Will definitely be coming back again. Our site was The Seclusion and it really was secluded. Our dogs LOVED every minute of our time there - being off leash and not having neighbors nearby to distract them was great, walking/hiking around the property, etc. There are a lot of really cool touches here as well - our son especially enjoyed the sandbox with lots of trucks to choose from to borrow while at our site. The property is incredible. Highly recommend!

Camp Escape: The Underbelly
Great campsite
Underbelly site was awesome. Lower level is right on lake. Lots of space (2-3 tents). Very private and secluded. Fire pit. Composting toilet nearby. Bit of a hill down to site from car parking area but manageable. Wood and boats were available which was very convenient. Tara is very communicative and helpful.

Camp Escape: The Underbelly
Pretty view, nice site!
AWESOME campsite. Even with rain it was nice since the trees protected us from a lot of it. Beautiful view — we didn’t explore the campground a lot/use amenities since it was rainy, but would definitely visit again to try. Chairs provided, not buggy, nice and easy visit.

Camp Escape: The Seclusion
Seclusion is the perfect name for the camp spot. Very clean and serene. Thankfully it had enough room to get turned around in. The only thing that could have made it a little better would be a better atv access from camp out to tail head

Leaning Birch Tree House
Escape to the escape!
The leaning birch tree was amazing. A surprising amount of accommodations and a beautiful panoramic view of the lakes from the upper level of the shelter. I went by myself to get away from the rat race. 15 minute drive from grandfather falls, which I would highly recommend!

We loved the location on the private lake, so so pretty! Great for swimming and kayaking, the rope swing was my favorite part. Tara was so nice and her property was so fun to explore (there were raspberries and blackberries everywhere)!

Leaning Birch Tree House
Connecting with nature
The solar powered quaint birch tree house provided a safe haven for our family of 5 (cavaliers included). Basic necessities are available. Tara provided a little picnic basket with utensils, marshmallow roasting sticks, wood stove, camping stove inside and even a propane grill outside, plus necessities like paper towels, dish soap, spices, bug spray. I was actually amazed of the inclusion. Upstairs bedroom is perfect to doze up gazingbat the stars and firefies. The deck and the swing bench is our favorite part of the house. Boating amenities included. Clean porta potty or request your own commode and privacy tent.
The best part is going around the woods on a nature hike with wild berries tempting to be picked. Peace, freedom, simplicity- these are few of my memories.
Thank you for sharing this space and especially for Tara’s responsiveness and hospitable nature and interesting stories. Appreciate the tour aboard UTV.
My review maybe helpful, but you need to be there to truly understand and feel nature and yes! moreso, our self😊

Camp Escape: The Seclusion
We would highly recommend the ‘seclusion’ ! Very private and very spacious. We parked our boat, our truck and a tent and still had tons of room. It rained our second night but it did not get muddy. The lake was a bit farther then we initially thought but over all was an amazing stay! Will definitely come back!

Can’t wait to go back
Beautiful site, very secluded, which was great for my nervous dog. We had 4 dogs out there to and they had so much fun running around and playing in the lake. The only time we saw other people is when someone hadn’t read the directions well and ended up in our site.
Not a lot of flat ground so it was a bit tricky figuring out where to put the tents. There is a small tent pad, but slightly too small for even my friends 3 person tent. It would be a great spot for a group, provided everyone has small tents.
Lots of little extras at camp, which was great. Pie makers, marshmallow sticks, a grill, tables, chairs, and boats were all provided. Firewood is provided, but not at the site for you, so you do need to make a trip to the wood shed to get it.
All in all, we loved it and definitely want to get back out here next year.

Boats next to a kettle lake!
Tara communicated everything we needed to know right away in a simple and fun way. Land is exactly as described a 3 tiered plot for camping close to the lake or up on higher ground. Includes a little table where we used a grill to make dinner and breakfast. The best part of our stay here was paddling in the boats then meditating in the middle of the kettle lake!
