Tara*** Deep in the backwoods of rural Wisconsin, Camp Escape is an excellent spot to disconnect with the 21st century and get completely off grid. At this camp, a handful of secluded sites each come with spectacular lakeside views and shelter from pine trees for complete isolation. Here’s a chance to test your wilderness skills. There’s 70 acres of private forest and four kettle lakes at your disposal, so getting to know your surroundings must be top of the list. You can putter around on the water in rowing boats and canoes (both free for campers to use) and fish for bass to grill over your campfire. Kids can safely run off energy, make new friends at the play areas, or go scavenging for raspberries in season. Beyond camp, there’s a whole wilderness of 5,000 acres just begging to be explored; take a backpack and hike or horseback ride into the forest, or rent an ATV or snowmobile for winter adventures in the hills. At the end of the day, though, there’s probably nothing better than sitting on a wooden dock overlooking a lake and contemplating the wilderness as the sun sets. No-fuss amenities at this back-to-nature campground include fire rings, wooden tables, and parking by each site. Gas cylinders are available, but there’s no drinking water so you'll need to bring your own. There’s one compostable toilet on the park as well as plenty of dirt (and trees to hide behind) for cat-holes. The perfect site for the great outdoors adventurer.*Lake-front, dock, raft, personal boat* Gateway to Lincoln County’s Underdown and 80 acres of private lakes and woods. It boasts of a private dock, water raft, and 5000 acres of woods at your back. Camp out in isolation for the best star gazing and camp fire stories. Voted best in Wisconsin and top 10 in the US 2020! Camp Escape: The Woods
Peaceful Private Lake Camping
This is one of my favorite campsites and I try to make it there at least one time per year. The lake is extremely peaceful and silent, highly recommend. Tara is also very helpful and responsive.

Camp Escape: The Woods
Escape to the woods
I love this place Pros: 1. you will be so close to the nature. It is quiet, BEAUTIFUL and peace land. 2. The owner is very kind. Tara gave us a tour with her ATV since the first day we arrived. They also have wild berries everywhere in her land and the fishes. 3. If you love exploring this place will suite you well. The land is huge and many spots to check out. You will never get bored from only camping. 4. 10 mins far away from Walmart. So convenient if you need to resupply during a trip. Cons: 1. you need to put up your tent 10 feets away from the water and it was so hard to find a flat land. The perfect place to set up your tent will be close to river but we couldn't do it. 2. If you need more boats or kayaks you gotta use puddle boat to get more from another pier. At the campsite they have only 2 ( 1 broken the day we went) 3. If you want to fish it is better to go other lakes like the one where is in front of owner's house. You can hop in your car and drive there around 3 mins. The lake at campsite you will probably have no luck to catch any fish.

Camp Escape: The Woods
Huge, peaceful area, great solitude, kayaking & canoeing were fun. Beautiful night skies, distant coyotes howling over the lake at night. Excellent getaway.

Camp Escape: The Woods
Camping on the lake
Very private and peaceful right on the lake. I stayed here in the past with a friend and had to come back! By far the best camping in the Midwest and easy to find.
