Bad Axe Tent Glamping
Amazing weekend at an amazing site
Absolutely amazing glampsite! Right by the river so you could listen to it at night as you are drifting off to sleep.
The canvas tent is so great, and keeps you warm and dry in the rain. The gazebo on the platform in front of the tent was so great to have. We had a ton of rain on our trip, and it kept us dry without having to take cover in the tent (kid and dogs weren’t crazy about the rain). The card games in the tent came in very handy as well when it was raining.
The camp kitchen has everything you could need. The propane griddle was perfect for making pancakes in the morning and the 2 burner stove was great for bacon and eggs.
We had a lot of trouble getting a fire going in the fire pit, but I blame that on all the wet weather. We used the portable fire pit instead, and had a roaring fire in no time. It was also so convenient to have the huge woodpile there to utilize.
Nice little swimming hole just a short walk from camp. We had fun floating in the water between rain storms, even if the water was cold. The dogs loved swimming in the river, and are still worn out from all the fun they had this weekend.
Lynn was amazing and met us at the parking area to haul our gear down in the UTV. We walked in with the dogs, and it was about a mile walk. The walk back definitely took longer, but that was just because of us slipping and sliding on the mud. Did I mention it rained? It rained a lot!
Definitely in my list of places to visit again. Thank you!!

Brye Cabin-The Driftless Reason
Even better than we'd hoped!
Peaceful, private, lots of trails to explore. The cabin had everything we needed and the surrounding land was ideal for my kid and her cousins to roam.
Loved that the dog could go off leash everywhere (though be sure to ask whether the raccoon traps have been emptied that morning as usual--my city dog was far too curious about the trapped raccoon that we encountered on one of the trails! But Cory and Lynn were very responsive and immediately took care of it.)
All in all, a gem of a spot. We hope to come back soon.

We loved the cabin and the outdoor bathroom! The beds were super comfy and kitchen was very well stocked. It was very convenient to have fire wood all set to go at the site. We had trouble finding the stream but once we found it our kids enjoyed wading and swimming.

Family camping
Simply Amazing! The river was magical and it allowed for the kids to explore, fish, and swim. I loved that I could put my camping chair in water to soak my feet and read while the dog played in water. Lynn was fantastic in many ways and brought us down by ATV (I definitely recommend if you have a lot of stuff!). Bugs we not bad and the view was brilliant!!!

Perfect secluded campsite
It was the perfect secluded campsite you wish to find when out there backpacking, but even better because there were chairs, tables, drinking water and already cut wood for the fire. My husband caught about a dozen or more brook trout. The nights were so relaxing listening to the water. We would recommend getting the ride to the site if you have a lot of equipment. We were struggling pretty hard with everything we had and our short legged dog wasn’t happy. We calculated the trek on the way back out and it is .81 miles with a 205 ft ascend. The distance isn’t bad but it is quite the climb. We will definitely be back!

Great secluded spot
We loved everything about it. Lynn was so nice and very accommodating.
It's very secluded and private, and it's well supplied with various items you'll need: water, camp toilet, fire pit, chairs, grill, picnic table, and even bug (gnat) spray.
Our favorite part was probably the creek, which was super clear and had plenty of brook trout. I caught 12 or 13 over two days on nightcrawlers (all catch and release), but if I was a fly fisherman I would've probably caught 30 because they were jumping all over.
Strangely enough, I don't remember seeing a mosquito (they usually love me), and we never had any ticks. That could have been the time of the year (?), though they are plenty of mosquitos at our house right now.
There's an Amish-built swing set down the creek a bit, and even a "swimming hole" at the end of the property.
The UTV ride is something you'll want to get if you've got a good amount of gear.
It's a great spot to just get away, hang out with just the family, and enjoy nature.
Thanks for everything, Lynn! We'll be back!

Amazingly peaceful place to camp!
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend glamping! We are seasoned campers who were looking for a quiet, secluded spot to relax and fish. This spot was perfect. Stars, birds, babbling stream full of trout.
You could have no camping equipment or experience and have a wonderful time here. Lynn and Cory provide all you need. Bring clothes and food and you are good! We will definitely be back!

Heaven in The Driftless
We primarily ventured to Viroqua for the purpose of fishing The Driftless for the first time. Stumbling upon Cory and Lynn’s camp sites, I thought I had struck gold with it being right on a portion of the Bad Axe. I was right. This little slice of heaven was some of the most peaceful and serene camping I had ever experienced. Lynn (who is absolutely lovely) assisted us with getting to our site and made sure that we had everything we would need. The amenities at the site were more than enough to assure the weekend went smoothly and we had no issues whatsoever. As far as the fishing; I had never seen so many trout in such a short stretch of water in my life. Even a sub-par fly fisherman like me was able to pull out around 15 trout over the weekend. We will definitely be returning some time this summer!

The spot is beautiful. After a short hike down from your car you see this magical spot right by the creek. I felt I was in another world. The glamming tent site had pretty much anything you would need right down to a French press for your morning coffee! The creek is loaded with trout, so you can fly fish right from the camp site.
Lynn was very helpful and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend this spot and will be back.

Creekside camping
We loved this site. Nice hike into the valley. Peaceful by the Bad Axe creek. Beautiful setting and sounds. Owners set up the site very thoughtfully, even providing bug spray (which was definitely needed) and a campers’ loo (5 gallon bucket with a seat). They were great at communicating in advance too. Rained most of the weekend and we still had a great time. We would definitely come back.

A Beautiful Experience
This place is an ideal getaway. It's secluded via the 15-20 minute hike in and out. Lynn was so kind to help us haul our gear with her UTV. She was just a genuinely friendly person who clearly loves to share their terrific slice of this world.
The sites are down in this ravine, which creates some beautiful scenery as you enjoy watching and listening to the Bad Axe flow. The hot whether doesn't seem to penetrate the tree canopy down- we were extremely comfortable all weekend, even as the temperatures reached the mid 90s. Plus, you can just step into the river to cool off. By evening, a fog settled in and the fireflies began to light up. It was a perfect place and definitely "magical" as other reviewers have said. Highly recommend it here. We will be back again!
