Margaret's Pond was one of the best spots I've ever been to! The spot felt very private, the water was beautiful. There were plenty of dragonflies, chipmunks and fish splashing which made it kind of magical. I'll definitely be back, especially when the weather gets cooler!

ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. It's so close to the highway yet you can barely hear it and thats if you're trying. It gets super quiet at night. They don't encourage leaving trash there and suggest the solid rule you take out what you bring in. The syrup they sell is made right next to your camp! I haven't been that lucky in a long time. The wildlife isn't disrupted by human presence and there's only a handful of campsites. So even when it's "BUSY" you still have plenty of privacy. Hiking around the area is pretty easy as well. I'd give this an 9 out of 10. Just wish there was at least a basic electric hookup for small pop ups (water isn't necessary as there is a pump on the land for use) (You can't fit anything bigger than a pop up in most of the sites.) Also it's super pet friendly and the outhoused are well maintained and clean. However for those avid campers who don't need anything, its a 10/10.

This is are 2nd time here and it won’t be the last.
The camp sites are clean and far away from other sites to you have privacy. Matt is a great host very friendly and helpful

This place is truly a gem! Secluded and beautifully upkept. Our family had a blast and Matthew was a lovely host!

Good communication pre visit. I let Matt know when we were 20 minutes away and he was waiting on his 4 wheeler to show us to the site. He had the honey, eggs, and wood ready for us when we arrived. His land has a lot of decent dirt roads throughout. A lot of mature hardwood trees. He has a pretty neat system for collection of sap from trees, see pictures.
Our campsite was the perfect one to choose considering we probably had an inch of rain the first night. It was up a hill so no water collected in the site. It was a good distance from the main dirt road in his property so it felt private enough yet still not too far to walk to the porty potty he has by the main road. Porty potty was older but as clean as it could be.
Was a very enjoyable place to camp.

It was okay if you do not want to do much (the swimming advertised was gross) Plenty of trails for sure, but no map or signs anywhere out there and from what we seen no potable water. We ended up leaving a day early because the coyotes out there and because it’s not a kid friendly place. Also the bathroom had a nest in it and spiders filled the other one and it was quite a hike to get to the bathroom and with smaller kids that isn’t idea. All in all super pretty (heavy mosquito area) so plan ahead. We never really dealt with Mathew personally so I can’t speak on him, but he did meet us at the entrance and drive us to the site and briefly pointed in different directions to tell us where things were very vaguely almost like he was in a rush. I personally won’t be back here, but it was quiet and pretty.

Second visit at a different site and it was even more beautiful. Maple syrup is a must have and the host is always friendly and accommodating!

This was our first time using this service. But what an awesome experience. Matt was so kind and thoughtful. He even offered to move us to a different site if I couldn’t get the motorcycle and camper back to the site.
We even purchased farm fresh eggs and pure maple syrup that they collected and made. What a great breakfast and experience.
I was amazing and we will be back.

Sugar Maple
First off we have not been tent camping in a long time so we were a little hesitant. The site was secluded & shaded which is what we were wanting since we had our 4 yr old and our grand baby with us.. It was big enough to support our 3 room tent & our other stuff. There is a porta potty at the end of this site which was nice. Matthew also had a charcoal grill waiting for us. When we got there Matthew was unable to meet us but came by about an hr after we got there. He provided us with information about the grounds, and some nearby lakes and a creek. Unfortunately, our trip was cut short due to rain. I would definitely recommend staying here & our family will definitely be back. Thanks Matt for a great time.

Beautiful Site And great Hosts. Very tranquil and the trails Were awesome.
Lots of rain. God stuck in the mud and they kindly Winched.me out. Would love to visit again.

I loved the camping we came in a storm and we were too dedicated to leave so we stuck through the storm and to our surprise the owner brought an outhouse way closer to our site than it was originally, very peaceful trails as well!

I loved the campsite. It was secluded and perfect for me and my two dogs. We got to hear the barred owl hooting at night, and the frogs in the nearby pond. We took walks on the trails throughout the property to enjoy the scenery. The dogs loved swimming in the little creek. Matthew is a friendly host and met me right away to show me to my campsite. I highly recommend checking out Matthew’s place and be sure to get yourself some delicious maple syrup made right on site!

My girlfriend and I spent the weekend at Margaret’s pond on Matthew’s land and had a fantastic time. We got to have a delicious breakfast in the morning with down to earth people and even got to buy some tasty syrup and eggs. We look forward to more stays in the future!

A beautiful place with secluded space. After a tour in a side-by-side from the friendly host Matt, we walked trails through the rolling landscape, ate an apple off a tree, and saw a big bunch of stars.

My wife and I had a great weekend there! We were looking for a secluded spot surrounded by woods but not too deep into the woods, Sugar Maple was perfect! The camp site is on a slight incline and Matt did place some sand in 2 spots to put up a tent. Being surrounded by all those trees, the camp site stayed pretty cool during the day and even with the wind blowing through the tree tops, all we felt was a slight breeze.
There was another camper and a crew cutting down some trees, which wasn’t even a bother, you’re spread out far enough that you rarely saw or heard anyone. Although the site is a good distance from the freeway, it’s so quiet, you will hear random trucks in the middle of the night.
He also has maple syrup and honey for purchase…Delicious! Explore and you’ll see where the maple syrup came from.
Thank you Matt! We’ll definitely be returning for another stay!

This site was incredible! We stayed at Margaret’s pond, which was fantastic - across from a stunning cornfield, surrounded by trees, right next to a pond, and with a fire pit, picnic table, and plenty of tent space. Matthew was an amazing host, too; he was super friendly and helpful. The person I went camping with and I are both young women, so we were a little nervous using HipCamp for the first time, but we felt super safe the entire time.

Amazing campsite with amazing hosts! When we got there Matt was waiting our arrival and personally took us out to show us our campsite even though it was late. He provided clear directions for where to get water and had homemade maple syrup for purchasing!

Red Pine was exactly what I was looking for. It was myself and two sons (3 and 5) so we were looking for privacy and a place where the kids could make noise, be up early, explore freely, and not bother anyone else...Red Pine delivered exactly that!
Matthew was an excellent host. He checked on us a couple times and even gave us a ride around the property (which was the highlight of the trip for the boys), but otherwise gave us privacy.
We would gladly go back and will recommend to other families around us!

I loved camping on Matthew's land! The campsites are amazing! Several ponds, trails and I was greeted at the property and shown around. Truly an excellent experience! Would definitely recommend!
