If you are looking for a truly unique and memorable get away with family and friends then the fabulous Sandalwood Downs in Toodyay is the place to stay. This is where you are up close and personal with the animals. Expect the very friendly Donkeys to come and sit with you at your site. The lambs will follow you. The camels will drop by for a chat. Our emus will want to play. All the animals have been hand raised from babies and are super friendly. This farm stay is one of a kind and for people to be up close and personal with our large variety of our fury and feathered family. Sandalwood Downs Farm Stay in Toodyay is now available for you to enjoy and experience as a tent camping, campervan and caravan accommodation. Sandalwood Downs Toodyay operates as a farm stay and has been in high demand for many years. After years of travelers requesting caravan and tents sites, Marc and Jane are excited to announce as of March 2024 we now offering 8 caravan/camping/tent sites. With only 8 sites spread out over 100 acres, you are guaranteed privacy for you and your family and friends. The farm features many beautiful hand raised farm animals such as, camels, cows, miniature goats, donkeys, alpacas, lambs, deer, a pig, emus, ducks, turkeys, guinea fowls, geese, rabbits. Spend some time strolling the stunning walk trails and taking in the amazing views on the property, The sunsets are vivid and beautiful. The stars shine and sparkle bright. Each site is cleared and leveled 8 site’s available 4 sites accessible by 4WD 4 sites accessible by 2WD Each site has: Chairs and tables Rubbish bin Camp fire pit ONLY TO BE USED IN WINTER MONTHS MAY-SEPYEMBER. Alternatively enjoy the communal fire pit and chat with fellow travelers. The Julimar Forest is conveniently located just 2ks away. The fabulous township of Toodyay is only 8 minutes away. Know for its: Award winning bakery 2 great pubs to eat at. Awesome big IGA. The tourist center is super helpful and friendly. The coke cola cafe is great eating and yummy milk shakes. A big new beautiful swimming pool. 2 amazingly maintained parks for kids to play at. 2 hardware stores open 7 days a week (just in caser you forgot something). The very famous beautiful Christmas shop. 4 clothing and gift shops. A great lolly shop. 4 cafes all serving great food and lovely service. 2 hair dressers. Sandalwood Downs Farm The property is 100 acres of beautiful tranquility. Perfect for a family getaway or a romantic couple experience. Not suitable for for large noisy party groups. The property is only 45 minutes from Midland and 7 minutes from the wonderful town of Toodyay. RULES AND GUILDLINES While staying at Sandalwood Downs we would like all visitors to understand and accept the guidelines and rules, which are in place for everybody’s comfort and safety. - No lighting of campfires out of fire season. Local Shire and DEFES have very strong rules regarding this, and if lighting of a fire occurs people will be prosecuted by DEFES and the local Shire up to $36000.00 or 3 years imprisonment, -LIGHTING OF SMALL CAMP FIRES IS ONLY PERMITTED DURING OPEN FIRE SEASON MAY TO SEPTEMBER. -No trees are to be cut down if logs and sticks are on the ground these can be used. -If you smoke please place your butts in a sealed fire proof container. Please do not leave them on the ground as it is a fire risk and our animals may eat them causing health issues. -No dogs permitted on the property due to our animal roaming free. -You must be totally self contained, own water, showering and toilets. (We do have emergency's toilet and shower facilities just incase something unforeseen happens with guests set up) -Please take away all rubbish. Bins have been provided with garbage bags inside. -No big party groups. -Quiet time from 9pm please. Please consider other guest and our neighbours. -Check out of campsite by 11 am. -If a gate is closed, please close it behind you as will find it very hard to catch a animal that has escaped. -Don’t go into animal enclosures without permission from Jane or Marc. -We do an animal handling and feeding experience every morning at 8:30 am, which all guests are welcome to come and feed, sit and interact with the farm animals . -As we are a farm and you will be in our farm animals home, you will have some of our very friendly farm animals come and interact with you during your stay, we ask you to please be kind and friendly towards all of our animals. -You approach all animals at your own risk Please do not feed the animals any food that has not been given to you by Jane and Marc. -Please drive very slowly through paddocks as animals roam freely. -You will be handed a rules and guidelines policy when you arrive which includes an emergency and evaluation plan. Make read and make yourself very aware of the guidelines, as your safety is very important to us. -Arrival during day light hours is a must please for your and our animals safety. Thank you so much Jane and Mark for hosting us at your beautiful property. Spending time with all of your lovely animals was an absolute joy and exactly what we needed. The view from Double Tree Hilltop was gorgeous! We really look forward to staying with you again in the future.

Goat mountain (site 5)

The perfect place for a weekend get away or a longer stay, away from the hustle and bustle of the city and only a 8 minutes from the quaint town of Toodjay. Mark and Jane were wonderful hosts, sharing their gorgeous property nestled amongst the trees with us, we were sheltered away from the wind and enjoyed a beautiful vista over the valley, perfect for a sunset picnic and in the morning a eerie mist tumbled over the hills, while we listened to the cockatoos playing in the trees above. We enjoyed cuddles with 2 day old lambs and funny interactions with the friendly and curious camels and donkeys, all of the animals you can tell are ver much apart of the family and well loved. A great place to visit for families too. Thanks for having us. We will definitely be back.

Farm animals galore!

The family relished a peaceful retreat in our caravan. Each morning, the children eagerly awoke to the delightful sight of farm animals outside their window. Our hosts consistently exuded warmth and hospitality. I highly recommend a visit for young families seeking a serene getaway amidst the charming company of farm animals.

The Plantation west (site3)

Old McDonald has nothing on this ..

What a wonderful spot, we stayed at The Plantation Site 3, surrounded by some friendly sheep, I enjoyed treks up the hill and the awesome views. I got the parents involved in feeding the huge array of animals and I don’t think it could be any better, loved it. Would recommend to all young and old.
