Super welcoming host! Perfect spot if you are looking for a 1 night stay when traveling through 77! The camp is located about 10 minutes off the Riply exit. My dog Ozone had a blast with all the smells and the little bit of snow the fell. I travel 77 a few times a year and will definitely be stopping again🙂

Awesome place. Wicked quiet. I got there after dark. Torren was waiting to show me where to go. Tons of deer on the drive in. Left before daylight. Stars were amazing. Would love to see the place in the daylight. Would definitely stay again. A+

I loved the wide open space surround by trees. It felt so remote but actually was only 10 minutes to the closest Walmart.

I picked this HipCamp because of its proximity to the Mountain State Arts and Crafts Fair near Ripley. Torren met me at the turn off and led to way to the open hilltop and magnificent views that would be home for a couple of days. Being from TX I was a little leary of the steep gravel hill but my campervan made it fine…slow and smooth. A storm was very quickly approaching so I picked a level spot and he headed toward home. It was a frog choker but didn’t last long. After the rain it was so refreshing to explore the mountain top after the rain and, oh my, the sunset! Next day, Torren checked in to make sure I had everything I needed. Great hospitality! We had a nice conversation and I learned about the area once being prepped for an airport…thus the level open fields amid the forest. There was a porta potty available that was clean and stocked with TP. It was a delight to enjoy the solitude and silence of the Sycamore Creek mountaintop. I’ll stay there again if I’m ever back that way!

We Loved our stay here, Torren offered our pick of campsites and really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Incredible hospitality and a huge heart! We can’t recommend this site enough, we had ann awesome time getting to know our hosts and yall gotta know that the photos don’t do the sunsets justice. Gorgeous spot, we were howling at the moon!

The campsites available were absolutely great. There is no bad spot to be found. The sites are on top of the mountain ridge and all flat. No searching for a level spot. Torren had a fire ring and firewood waiting for us. The site feels very remote even though you are minutes from town. We intend on this being our go-to camping location from now on. 100% RECOMMENDED!

Torren’s communication was amazing from the beginning. He went out of his way to ensure that we knew how to get to the property and when it started to rain, set us up with accommodations! We really enjoyed spending time with Torren.
We even brought our 2 year old Rottweiler with us who had a blast playing very well with Torren’s pup! We look forward to spending time at Torren’s site again!

Beautiful property everywhere you look. Very private and quiet but you can get to town in 5 minutes. Torren was extremely accommodating, he cleared out a couple of extra areas to make sure I had shade all day (it’s been an unusually hot week) and even came out and helped me find my cell phone. I hope to go back sometime, I highly recommend his place.

Awesome. Torren was waiting for me, he guided me to the sites and let me choose from several. All sites were terrific: private, quiet, well kept, simply stellar. The evening was beautiful, and the night's rest was a top tenner.
Access was fine, I'm in a Ram ProMaster 3500 that had no problem climbing up to the sites. Cell coverage (Verizon) was strong.
Torren is such a great guy! I recommend this Hipcamp highly...and I look forward to another night here.

Torren’s land was beautiful! The hilltop was quiet and open, with great amenities - fire ring, picnic table, Adirondack chairs, and sheltered toilet. We were the only ones there, but if others had been present we’d have had lots of room to spread out. Torren himself met us at the bottom of the property despite us arriving around midnight, showed us up the road to the camping area, and made sure we had everything we needed. He was respectful in person and responsive by messenger.”, and had great suggestions for eateries nearby, as well as things to do in New River Gorge, where we were headed. The road to Torren’s hilltop is packed dirt and steep, but we had zero trouble making it up in dry conditions with our Toyota Prius.

Torren met us at the bottom of the hill to make sure we could get up to the top okay. Having a high clearance vehicle was a must and he made sure we knew that ahead of time. He had dry firewood waiting for us and showed us the best spot to watch the sunset. We enjoyed the seclusion of the site, and loved having the hilltop all to ourselves. There was a nice little pond, and we enjoyed listening to all the frogs. We watched a beautiful sunset over the trees and heard lots of different birds including a whippoorwill, and in the morning we woke to hear even more birds and spent some time watching several summer tanagers flying around the treetops. The site was freshly mowed and everything looked it's best. A big tree had come down over the winter and we used it as our sitting log for our birdwatching. We enjoyed our time here and would definitely return again for another stay.

Epic sunsets and fun hosts. We have a good Tim camping and it was refreshing to have hosts that were equally as excited for us to be there as we were. Torren hooked us up with some local beef and venison and even shared some biscuits and coffee with our guests in the morning! Thanks so much for the hospitality, we’ll be back!

Acres of mountain top meadow and pasture provide many places for tent or van camping. Nice sunset and sunrise views - and unobstructed night skies - and NO MOSQUITOS! Clean portapotty provided.Road up to fields is a little rough no problem for a little bot higher clearance vehicle or SUV. Torren was very helpful with directions and events, places to eat and things to do in town - thank you Torren!
