Surrounded by tall Oak and Poplar trees 1mile off the Appalachian trail. Cars do fine driving into the spot to park. There is some wood around to burn to forage for. Lots of trails l, breweries, wineries, rivers and such nearby. This is not good for toddlers but kids 6 and up will be fine. Thank you and enjoy

Smith Ridge middle spot 2-3 person

Great spot for 2 to 3 person camping. It has a large fire pit and nice large flat area for a larger tent or a couple smaller ones. Plenty of wood around to find and burn, bring your own or buy from me for a lot cheaper than the store. Camping area about 100 feet from where you'd park your vehicle, additional parking available just a short walk away. Spot-a-potty a short walk from the camping spot. Lots of trails and hikes near by. About 10 min from downtown Harper's ferry and Harper's ferry brewery.

Smith Ridge lower corner

Tent site · Sleeps 10
This camping spot is tucked back in the woods just little from where you park across a small bridge. Lots of trails, overlooks, swimming, rafting, kayaking, fishing, wineries, breweries, ghost tours, crystal clear spring fed lake beach, river riders, zip lining, Charles Town casino all in the area. Appalachian trail head parking up the street a few miles down the road. This is a larger and flattest spot. It can accommodate 10 campers or book with the other lower spot for larger groups. Good for large tent parties. Two cars can fit easily, and additional parking just a 15 second walk away. Spot-a-potty located a short walk across the gravel road. Feel free to forage for firewood, bring your own or buy from me for a lot cheaper than the store.

Tiny home · Sleeps 2 · 1 bed
Tucked just off the main cabin, this private 168 sq ft glamper is ready for spring and summer with ice cold a/c, and heat for the upcoming cold months. Inside, you'll find a memory foam bed (with a fitted sheet and two pillows; bring your own blankets), plenty of room for pet beds underneath. Drinking water provided, Keurig, and hot shower (25 gal water tank, 15 minute shower) for added comfort. Outside cooking area with seating, mini fridge, charcoal grill, and gas burner. Propane for everything included! There is a firepit area, a convenient port-a-pot, and parking for one vehicle—perfect for unwinding and taking in the peaceful surroundings. Please note: the parking area is approximately 100 feet away, up a rugged rock path, not recommended for small children or anyone with mobility concerns.

  • Review summary

    Generated from real Hipcamper reviews

Matt's campsite offers a cozy retreat amidst nature with a mix of privacy and accessibility to local attractions. Most campers appreciated Matt's attentiveness, prompt assistance, and the well-maintained facilities, including fire pits and a stream nearby. However, some guests noted issues with noise from nearby activities and incidents involving a less-than-stable ATV transport experience. Overall, the site seems to strike a balance between rustic charm and necessary amenities, making it a convenient spot for those seeking both adventure and relaxation.

Fantastic location and hospitality. Close enough to Harper’s Ferry to grab a bite to eat. Far enough to sleep in peace under the stars. I will be visiting again!

    It was okay

Nice campsite. A bit off the beaten path which is a plus in my books. Host was accommodating with firewood requests and options for stays and alternate open sites. Just stay weary of your comfort zone with everything. Welcoming words to some, can be interpreted much more than your intentions, so be verbally clear on that. What you invite in, is what you accept.

This spot was awesome!! We were looking for somewhere private but not *too* remote and this was just right. There was plenty of space to setup, the fire pit was in great shape, and there’s a cute little stream that runs next to the site. Matt was great - super communicative whenever we reached out and offered to supply firewood as well. 10/10, we would stay again.
