Great site near lots of outdoor activities. The site is well maintained and private. Barely heard the other campers. Would definitely recommend. Brian is really helpful with advice; gave us a great bike ride from Hinton to Sandstone Falls. Hinton is a great little town with lots of history. Lucky Rivers Cafe had great quality food. Healthy choices too! Gone Fishing is a good tackle/bait shop with ice cream next door. Owners are super kind.

The land was very beautiful and private. Brian was very nice and helped us find the site, made sure we could get the car back out, and suggested some close hiking spots. It was a little tricky to find the camping spot just make sure you drive slow in the field and really look for the red horseshoes. Also, make sure your car can do talk grass and mud. We had a great time with our dog.

The site was very private and quiet. The drive to the site was steep and included one lane roads (all paved) with sharp curves and switchbacks - took approximately 15-20 minutes from the bottom of the mtn to the site. Having an outhouse was a bonus, but we did have to do some cleaning before we used it.

Secret Spot at Starry Nights was an amazing property/camp site. The setting was so quiet, beautiful and tranquil. I woke to awesome sounds of a woodpecker on a nearby tree and also heard the awesome sounds of owls and wild turkeys. Brian is an excellent host who goes above and beyond. He provided his site(s) with a nice picnic table, fire ring (there was even wood stacked beside the fire pit when we arrived!) and a very clean and I think recently built out-house. The property is so idyllic and well-maintained. Brian was very good at communicating and providing directions. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend to anyone visiting New River Gorge/Hinton area! The stars are amazing!!! I got an awesome photo of Orion shining brightly above my tent, plus lots of other stars I cannot see back home due to light pollution. Thank you, Brian!

This spot is one of the quietest, most private, and serene HipCamp sites we've stayed at! Brian stopped by when we first arrived to answer any questions and give us directions to various sites on the property and the area. I wish we'd have had another day just to explore...but there's always next time!
Multiple state parks and New River Gorge National Park and Preserve are all within reasonable distances. Just mind the very narrow roads until you get to the bottom of the hill. Admittedly I was thinking thin and holding my breath while pulling our trailer for a good bit of it!
If you plan to stay at this spot...you really should have 4WD. It's steep, and you'll burn through the grass if there's even a hint of moisture.

Could not say enough about how gorgeous this site is. It was so peaceful and a family of blue jays stayed with us. The host was great when we put a request through to change days.
The site was very easy to find with google maps and SO isolated. A herd of cows was nearby which I loved. The outhouse was perfectly clean as well.
If we are in the area again, we would come back without hesitation.

Lovely site! Would definitely return. Leaves had fallen and we could see the sunrise and sunset through the trees. Lots of private space - our dog had the time of her life haha. Our two 19ft travel trailers had lots of room. Great for star gazing! Definitely recommend!

What a gorgeous place to spend the weekend! The views from the property were outstanding, the skies were full of so many stars, and the surrounds were peaceful and relaxing. There was plenty of firewood to gather, and the outhouse was just fine. Really couldn’t have asked for anything more. We hope to come back in the future!

The campsite was great- surrounded by trees but open enough for tents. We watched the sunset both nights and it was beautiful. The firepit and picnic table were so convenient!
The only confusing part about the directions to the campsite was it instructed us to keep the tall grass to our left, but once we were in the field driving towards the campsite, all the grass was tall. We eventually reached the two red wagon wheels so we knew we were at our campsite, but we were unsure for a bit. Overall, a great experience and I’d definitely return!

Property was beautiful and we loved our stay here! I’ve never felt so remote and our dog had the time of her life. Nice large fire ring and a nice clean outhouse. The stars and the full moon and beautiful weather topped it off. Quick and responsive to a quick question. Very nice host.

Great place to camp, this is our second time camping here. Added a pit outhouse which was a nice surprise since last year. Sites are far enough away to feel secluded with dense forest separating the different camp sites.

We loved Green Valley campsite! It was great having the picnic table, outhouse, and fire pit. Historic downtown Hinton is about 15 minutes away (and Kroger nearby). Endless Wall hiking trail about 90 minutes away....great hike and views (worth the drive....also right by the New River Gorge visitor center (great view of the bridge). There are only 2 other campsites on the property and we didn't hear a peep from either. We had a great view of sunsets and lucky enough that weather was perfect for stargazing. Plenty of wood to burn from the neighboring forest. Brian was a great host...very responsive and shared great tips for activities in the area. We loved having our dog with us and he was able to run off-leash through the fields - he loved it! This was our first Hipcamp experience. I'm afraid nothing will live up to Brian's place. We will definitely be back

This was our first Hip Camp experience. We absolutely loved this property! We stayed two nights on the Field of Dreams property. The property consists of a large field with tall grasses surrounded by trees. The back corner, where we parked our Skoolie, butts up against woods that can be explored. There was also the cutest outhouse in the same corner. There was also a picnic table, a fire ring, and a garbage can in the same area and it was very clean and well kept. There is a ton of fire wood to be collected from the woods, which our son had fun doing. There were two other camp sites on this property that had guests, which ours was the middle one. We could not see them, but we heard them very faintly. But, compared to your traditional RV camp site where you feel you are on top of your neighbors, this was a wonderful change. Our 5-year-old and dog got to run around freely to their heart’s content. The property is on the top of a hill/mountain that has a narrow road leading to it, in which the road switch backs up. You need to drive slowly and be aware of traffic coming in the other direction, but the scenery was beautiful along the way especially with the fall colors. Greg was a Great host who was very responsive. We really enjoyed staying here and hated to leave.

Perfect secluded private camp location. This was our second stay here in as many as years. The addition of clean kept pit toilet was a great addition. The night sky here is amazing with so many stars to see. See you next year.

I stayed during a wet and rainy week that included Hurricane Helene.
Brian’s place was out of the path of direct impact but definitely felt the wind and rain.
Brian directed me to a safe spot on the property where I rode out the storm. Felt safe and secure.
He’s a great host and takes loving care of his property. One is lucky to stay here !!

It was a great, private spot with a picnic table, fire ring, and a newish outhouse. No problem finding the place, even though it’s pretty far out of town. The stars were amazing and I enjoyed looking at the stars while listening to the crickets.

Brian was the perfect host, while there was some initial confusion the stay was perfect. There are 3 sites all far enough away you do not hear or really see each other. We were able to come and go without any issues and were left to our own devices. It was our 4 month old puppys first camping experience and it was so nice to be able to have him off leash with our other dog. We do plan to go back and look forward to exploring more of the area.
