Flop Ear Campsite
Nice location near Charles Town, Harpers Ferry, Shenandoah River and AT Trail. Owner really needs to clean up the trash and weeds on the site before I would recommend others to stay there. It could be a beautiful, convenient camping spot.

Flop Ear Campsite
It's always fun to camp and the woods of WV are always gorgeous. It was a pleasant weekend. I appreciated the lights and the fire pit. However, I'd call the site strange. It's in a neighborhood essentially, so I felt weird about making noise while also getting to experience everyone mowing. There was little space for tents and parking, and exclusively space on uneven gravel for tents. The information I needed about access the toilet wasn't given to me until the next morning at 9am, and the other structure on site seemed, frankly, dangerous. It didn't seem ready for camping.

Quiet street with secluded feel, saw two cars and five deer. Overhead lights create nice ambience and facilities are a nice convenience.

We had a great time camping at this site. The bathroom shed was very nice, and the setup of the firepit was beautiful with nice overhead lighting. Yes it's in a neighborhood with houses around, but especially when it gets dark it still feels private. Evelina was very helpful with quick responses.

Overall I had a good stay, but there were a few things that you should know before staying. You are in a neighborhood and the site is right along side of the road. There was some firewood, but most was to large to use without splitting it with an axe. Also, there was a very very bad smell all night, not sure if it was a dead animal somewhere or a septic tank, but it was bad when the wind blew a certain direction. I think this site is good for $35, just wish it was more secluded.

Awesome site! Lots of great amenities. Wish it would have been a bit more remote as there are some houses surrounding it. However, once the sun sets it feels totally remote. Had an overall wonderful time and the host was awesome.

The host has a great setup with wooden furniture, a firepit, and a huge stack of firewood! They even had a place to charge your phone and a set of lights if you need them. We stayes in our tranist van. We backed into the site and were able to enjoy the fire. About 20 mins to Harpers Ferry and the C&O. We are pretty close to the area but wanted a nice getaway.

We would probably give this space 3/5 stars. It wasn’t bad by any means, but not what we expected.
A couple things we wish we would have known before booking:
-We thought it was a secluded place but it was literally just off the road. Also, you could see a couple houses from the site and there was nothing blocking to from the road so wasn’t really any privacy at all.
-Although it’s listed as off-leash dog friendly, it really isn’t. Again, you’re right on the road.
-There are three or more GROUPS of dogs surrounding the site that howl and bark nonstop throughout the night. Non. Stop.
-There’s stinging nettle throughout the site so I would recommend bringing some hydrocortisone cream.
Someone mentioned it in an earlier review, but I’ll restate that the road to get there is definitely not small car or motorcycle friendly.
This space is awesome if you’re in the area and we did love staying here. We wish we would have known the above things so that way we could be more prepared and informed ahead of time. We brought firewood just in case, but we did have plenty that they had left at the site!

We camped with our travel trailer! The area was well shaded and provided relief even during the heat of the day. The electrical hook ups, site amenities like table and benches, and toilet made our stay easy. Our daughter loved exploring and playing in the stream or on and across the bridge. The site is close to harpers ferry and tubing! Would stay again.

We enjoyed staying at the Creekside camp area! My favorite part was the enchanting lights in the fire pit area. Super cozy and relaxing to sit by the fire and chat with friends. Having the amenities provided helped make the camping experience easier. Having the bench and tables were a plus! The surrounding area is great, not a far drive to the river for tubing and other historic attractions. Cute town. We will stay again the next time we are in town!

It is a nice site tucked away in a very spread out neighborhood. Had plenty of privacy and we were not bothered by anyone. Very y’all trees surround you so you have a decent amount of shade throughout the day. Very nice get away spot.

The directions to the site were lacking the essential information that there is a series of very steep and very loose gravel roads that lead to the site. We were on motorcycles and that info would have been good to know going in... Once you get to the site it’s nothing but a gravel lot on the side of the road, there’s no where to pitch more than one tent, and the fire pit had a dirty diaper in it. As soon as we got there a neighbor came down the hill from across the creek (which is barely a trickle) and screamed at us for having headlamps on as we were trying to get settled in after dark. It did not feel safe, it did not feel welcoming. 0 stars.
