Down by the River!!!

Dutch and his other half were so nice and accommodating. The sites were well maintained, spaced out with a beautiful view. Porta johns were clean. Would totally recommend this site and will likely come again.

Another great stay! Really appreciate the laid back vibe and the weather and site were great. Even though Hurricane Helene had just come through and it had been raining for ages in the area, the land wasn’t muddy. Having wood at the site was clutch too, nice to not have to stop on the drive in. We saw deer, which was just so cool. Download a Google map ahead of time as service is spotty throughout Harper’s Ferry.

We have a wonderful time even in the rain. Dutch was responsive and a great host. Loved the view of the river. Will go back again and take our kayaks or rent some from Dutch.

I had an amazing time staying here!! The hosts were amazing, incredibly helpful & accommodating! All of the sites have a beautiful view of the river and were very clean & well kept. I can’t say enough good things! Would love to stay here again & will recommend to my friends & family!!

This is a beautiful spot along the river, and Dutch and Melissa could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Really terrific hosts who made sure we had everything we needed. We rented kayaks and had fun out on the river, where we saw tons of birds, and two eagles! We also enjoyed just resting at the campsite. We were near other campsites but it still felt semi-private which was nice. We would love to come back again! Thanks again to our wonderful hosts!

My husband and I spent two nights on the property. It was very well kept and large/flat site (we were on site 4). Dutch and his partner are very friendly and very helpful. Port-a-potties are clean and water is available through the hose. There were three other sites on the property, but everyone was very respectable of each other's space. Husband caught 6 fish in the river. The water was very clear and a nice temperature (mid-Sept). We hope to be back with the kids! Thanks again!

Loooove this camp spot! My boyfriend and I have camped here 3 times now and we can’t get enough. Dutch is so friendly, accommodating and quick to reply to messages always! The sites are right on the water and it’s so peaceful to hear the water flowing so close by. We rent kayaks for Dutch when we camp here and love the float down the river! It’s so peaceful, I reach a level of relaxation that I just can’t achieve anywhere else. I love that there are picnic tables and canopies ready for everyone, as well as a fire pit and grill cover to cook on top of it. 10/10 would come back and recommend this site to anyone! It feels so secluded, but you’re also near a lot of attractions in Harper’s ferry if you wanted to venture off and come back too! Thank you Dutch!!

Just finished a wonderful two night stay on Dutch’s property and couldn’t be happier with the visit. Dutch and his wife were very welcoming and attentive as soon as we arrived. We stayed at site 4 and it was very well kept and the bathrooms were in very nice condition. I’d highly recommend this to anyone who’s thinking about staying in the area, especially for a kayak/canoe trip.

Hidden Gem in Harpers Ferry!

This camp is AWESOME!!!!!!! The moment we get there, we instantly knew that this would be a great getaway. The place is clean and quiet and the river is gorgeous and just a couple of steps away. My wife and I paddle board for almost 2 hours until we got tired and jumped into the water and swim. The water is not deep so it's perfect for kids and my wife who doesn't know how to swim, LOL! The campsite is spacious and it has covered tables just in case it rains, it has a fire pit and a small log where you can either sit or put your stuff on it. Our host came to visit us on our site and he and his wife are super friendly. We chat for a while and he gave us some logs and fire starter to use. Fellow campers there were also friendly and quite hours was respected. The next day our host came back to check on us and he even told us not to be in a hurry to leave because our site were not reserved and we can stay there much longer but we don't have lunch so we had to leave around noon but me and my wife will definitely go back there and we highly recommend the place. Awesome camp, great river access, and super friendly host. What more can you ask for?

Great little camp site on the banks of the river. Dutch and his wife were very friendly and attentive. It felt very secluded down at site 4. The surrounding area is not especially remote so be prepared for some additional night noise to the local wildlife. Cars, neighbors dogs and roosters were audible at night but it didn't bother us much. We enjoyed going out on the river in the rentable kayaks/canoes and paddling in the shallows. The river is very peaceful and tranquil at this location and the bald eagles were a lovely addition! Thank you for the nice stay and my son's first camping experience!

This was a great spot! There are only 4 campsites on the property, which is nice. We were tucked away and pleasantly woke up to the sound of the river. Dutch was so great, came down and gave us a barrel of firewood with starter for $20. Great deal. Good vibes all around

Man this was the best camp site I been to, Dutch is an awesome dude and will help ya figure everything out real good. Enjoyed the kayaks on the river and even caught a couple small mouth right out side of camp. Would recommend to anyone. PS save your money on wood and buy it from Dutch

Camping by the Shenandoah !

On the plus side: Easy access to the river. Camp area small but suitable for tents as our location was reasonably flat. I'm glad I took a rake since a resent storm had left lots of debris. On the not so plus side: The West Virginia roads were very narrow and the twists and corners were somewhat difficult to navigate in getting to this location. This location is definitely primitive.

We had a great time staying here! Dutch was kind and attentive. We were rained out and he was quick to offer us trash bags for our wet tent and checked on us. He let us know about local spots, best grocery stores to go to and kept us updated on things about the camp ground. The porta potty’s were cleaned while we were there (we had a four day stay). We were a 2 min max walk from the shore of the lake and the restrooms. There was a pop up over the picnic table, a roomy fire pit with a grate and quite a lot of room for us and our tent.

My favorite camping spot!

This is my favorite spot to camp! Dutch and Melissa are super friendly and accommodating. I love being right on the Shenandoah River and being able to rent kayaks and spend the day on the water! Each campsite has a picnic table with a canopy above it, and a fire ring with a grill top. You’re close enough to society where you can run to the store/gas station close by, but you feel like you’re completely enveloped in nature. Perfect camping experience!!
