Beautiful spot on the Shenandoah River....you will see eagles, deer, ospreys, beaver and numerous other critters. Great fishing, boating and swimming not to mention the views. Lots of local cuisine and pubs. Flea markets and BBQ on the roadside and for those who dare the casino and horse racing!!!... Each site has a picnic table, firepit and pavilion canopies for creature comfort. We do have firewood available along with boat rentals. All boat rentals and firewood are cash only. Please limit glass containers. We no longer allow outside firewood coming in as we have had guests bring pressure treated wood and all sorts of junk wood and the next guests are trying to cook over nasty residues on the sides of the firepits. Thanks for your understanding!

Site 1 - Shenandoah Adventures

Impromptu trip

My son and I tent camped for 1 night at this site. Dutch greeted us immediately upon arrival and gave us a quick tour. We were the only campers the night we stayed, and Dutch encouraged us to use the full site, since no one else needed it. The river was a quick and safe set of stairs away, the porta potties were clean, and a mama deer and her baby walked thru the site that evening and the next morning. We made some great memories.

Site 4 - Shenandoah Adventures

Excellent site with river access!

This was our 2nd stay on Dutch's campsite and yet again we loved it. He and his wife are great hosts and the site is wonderful! All 4 sites have access down to the river and he has paddle boards, canoes, etc. available. He's included lawn games and seems to be always making improvements. We hope to bring our whole family here for a camping trip in the future!

Site 1 - Shenandoah Adventures

Great stay! Nice big camping area with a good amount of room between the sites. Plenty of space to setup whatever you need! Plus, LOTS of great trees for hanging hammocks. Private river access to a pretty quiet stretch of the Shenandoah River, which led to great kayaking and fishing. Dutch even offers a pick-up service if you want to do a longer float. The amenities here were amazing, and Dutch was incredibly friendly and kind. This was a great spot in a beautiful area and I will definitely be back. I can't recommend it enough.

We love camping on Dutch’s campground, he was very friendly and we had a great time, very nice views of the Shenandoah river.

Fantastic hosts. Very clean and organized. Must do some kayaking while you are there. Absolutely beautiful, recommend two nights at least.

Down by Shenandoah getaway spot

Our family really loved camping at Dutch’s down by the river Hipcamp. He and his wife Melissa are great hosts who make you feel at home and go the extra mile to make sure you have a great experience. We rented kayaks and had a great time out on the Shenandoah. If you’re looking for a peaceful spot by the river in West Virginia, we highly recommend Dutch's spot. We will be back.
