Coal's Field is a 6-acre property situated on the ridge just above the junction of Big Sandy Creek and Cheat River. The incredible 360° views, sunrises, and sunsets make this a truly beautiful place to be. The sunset colors here are a must-see. The property is located within a short driving distance to all the outdoor adventures the area has to offer.Coal's Field is a primitive campsite, ideal for transient campers in the area looking to take advantage of the outdoor adventures and experiences our region has to offer. Whether you need a quick spot for the night or a quiet spot with easy access to local action, Coal's Field is your spot. If you don't want to cook for yourself or set up the whole site for one night, that's okay. The local convenience store has a great kitchen with a full menu and some of the best pepperoni rolls around.

We loved camping in our rooftop tent on Shawn's land. The area was secluded and quiet with great views in all directions. It was the perfect jumping off point for our bouldering in Coopers Rock.
