Learn more about this land: Horses Welcome with no extra charge (bring your own corral). Plenty of space to ride. Come and enjoy the big sky and open spaces on our Central Washington homestead. From your campsite, you will be able to sit and enjoy the breathtaking sunsets and view of the Cascade Mountains to the West. At night you will only need to look up into the sky to clearly spot millions of stars. You will also be given farm fresh eggs to enjoy with a meal. On our homestead, you will see chickens and goats. If in season, you can explore the garden. Enjoy the walking trail right on our property or ride your bikes. Kids will have plenty of room to run, play, and picnic. Children are also welcome to set up their own tent for a night of parent-free fun. Make sure to check out all the extras we offer by clicking on a campsite for those details. From feeding and cuddling goats to star gazing with cocoa. There is plenty of space if you bring your equestrian friends with you. Just bring your portable corral with you. :) With a short drive, you will find seasonal hunting, fishing, biking, hiking (Beezley Hill) , lakes, golf, mini golf, water park, bowling, and a good selection of restaurants. There are also two Walmarts nearby for any of your needs. A little farther and you will find natural pools at Potholes State Park, Soap Lake, Coulee Dam, and Lake Lenore Caves. Interesting fact: Our homestead is located on the McConihe Flats. 1200 years ago the Sinkiuse Indians would meet on the McConihe Flats and trade. They would also collect things along the shore of the lake such, as duck eggs and reeds, which are still around today. We are conveniently located between Moses Lake and Ephrata Washington. Only 12 minutes from either town where you can find Walmart, other stores, and resturants for all your needs.

They communicated with us very well, giving clear instructions on how to get there and what to expect. The land was beautiful and we were able to get a good nights rest, as we were just passing through! The out house was cool and clean. We would definitely stay there again!

Site 1 - Whimsy Rock Homestead
As soon as I had the full address it was pretty easy to find. Simple, quiet area. As most have commented on, the toilet is just a bucket with wood shavings which wasn’t awful, I just wish some had sanitizer was also around because if I didn't have any myself that would have been hard. I also saw some ants when I was setting up and thought nothing major of it but woke up with a bunch of them in my tent.

We pulled in really late and the owner and his son still came to meet us and make sure we were all set up. They were so lovely. The son gave us some eggs , and they looked so good that we ended up purchasing a dozen off him for our trip. The highway noise was almost non-existent, but unfortunately we were woken up at 5 am by dogs barking It wouldn't have been a big deal normally, but we had such a late night that the early wake up made for a short night sleep. Other than that it was a perfect overnight stop on our way through. Thanks!

Site 2 - Whimsy Rock Homestead
The directions were well written, we found it easily. This was a nice place to stay, out away from the loud city or partying campground noise after a concert at The Gorge. The lady staying here helped us jumpstart our car and also brought us mega tent stakes as the wind storm came through while we stayed there, nearly blowing our tent over! We felt welcomed and well taken care of. Thank you!!

Pretty setting, and the family is very nice. We arrived well after dark but they were hanging out at the fire pit and directed us where to park, where the water was etc. Their boys gave us some fresh eggs the next day and we met their sweet little Pygmy goat.

The stay was great. The family was so nice. They greeted us, gave us eggs and then let us be. This spot was great for star gazing and beautiful sunsets. We would absolutely stay here again. The out house was clean and not bad to use at all.

To be honest, the campsite ⛺️ was uninspiring - three flat spots in the yard. No tables, and a toilet that consisted of a bucket with cedar chips in an outhouse. Positives: nice hosts, free eggs and baby goats. The location was dusty, but it was in a good spot in our travels east. Considering the number of public parks in towns nearby, we probably won’t return. Suggestions: improve the toilet. Invest in some picnic tables for the campsites.

Our host was very pleasant and brought us eggs and chatted. However, the site was just a basic pad. No picnic table or anything. Zero shade and it was very hot. If we had been in a tent it would have been really hard. Also, the directions weren’t the best since we didn’t know what to set our GPS to with no address.

This site was a short stop for us on a long road trip. The host was wonderful and came out to answer any questions, and gave us fresh eggs from their chickens. Our kids loved seeing their goats and chickens, and the sunset view was beautiful.

Site 1 - Whimsy Rock Homestead
Christine and family were really lovely! The stars were incredible the night we stayed here and the free egg per person was a fun treat! We camped in tents and the sites were quite rocky and lumpy in some spots but with a bit of positioning and using sleeping pads we got good nights sleep. There’s no shade near the spots so if you’re here in the summer, expect it to get hot. The toilet was kept very clean but was a bucket toilet so nothing fancy but fine. Overall, would stay here again! We went to a show at the gorge and it’s only about 40 minutes away so for the price is a great option!

Site 1 - Whimsy Rock Homestead
We had a rather peaceful, relaxed experience. We're animal lovers. There were goats, chickens, two dogs and a few kittens with which to interact. We had fine sunsets, an epic moon-rise and great star-gazing. Ten mins away from public beaches/boat launch, restaurants and stores. If you like not having constant come/going around you while camping (all while having modern worldly needs just down the road) then this is a great choice for a getaway.

The tent site site had amazing views and a nice sunset. The family next door was nice. Christine came and introduced herself. All was good. If I am looking to spend some time out there again I will definitely consider staying again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Christine farm, our kids loved to pet the goats, and kittens, and hens, We had a great experience picking up the eggs in the morning. The view is beautiful, so peaceful. We were lucky to have a clear sky one night and Christine's husband and kids were super nice showing us the stars through the telescope. We felt really welcome.

We enjoyed our stay at Whimsy Rock Homestead. Upon our arrival we were invited to visit the goats, two of which were only a week old. The hosts are very friendly and the site was exactly what we expected. The sunsets are amazing. When we are back in the area again next summer we plan to return to the homestead.

We had a nice time staying at Christine's homestead. My 4-year-old daughter was delighted to play with the cats, goats, dogs, and chickens on the property. We really enjoyed sitting and watching a gorgeous sunset as well. The only downside would be that all the neighbors have dogs out at night, and they bark a bit. It didn't bother me so much, but my husband had a harder time falling asleep. Another thing that would make this space even better would be a picnic table at the site. We had some logistical challenges cooking our dinner without a place to put everything. Minor detail, though! The place is very cool! Thank you so much for allowing us to stay!

What a beautiful area! Our group enjoyed camping here in sites 2 and 3. The sites are spacious, and the ground is flat, so we didn’t need to level our camper. We put up a 10’ x 10’ canopy, which gave us some shade and a central gathering spot. The bathroom was unique and clean and relatively close to the camp sites. We enjoyed the fresh eggs that the host shared with us and walking through the garden and visiting the goats. The hosts were very gracious and gave us tips about visiting the area. We stayed here to be near the Gorge Amphitheater for a concert, and it was about a 45-min drive back to our campsite after the concert. I would definitely stay here again for future concerts. We also visited Soap Lake and enjoyed soaking our feet in the water and playing in the mud. Thanks for a great visit!

Overall we had a good experience. The campsites were very close together and there's no shade over them at all. Fine for sleeping and stargazing, not so much for just hanging out.

A lovely little spot for a quick overnighter. Goats and chickens were fun to pet in the morning. The hosts were both lovely and had some nice advice on walks close to the property.

We enjoyed the goats and the chickens and eggs. The outhouse was very clean. The open country side allows for spectacular star gazing. Christine and her husband are very nice. We hope to come back.
