Welcome 2026 Hipcampers! We have many exciting changes for our guests this year! Along with the geodesic dome, RV sites, wood-fires sauna, store, and cafe added last season, this year we will have 3 stargazer tents! Brand new tents at sites 1, 2, and 6- all Stargazers. Spend the night looking at the stars from the comfort of your own bed. We will also be adding more DIY tent spots as the season progresses, so keep an eye out for those as well. And, look at the option available for booking the whole property for retreats, group camping trips, weddings, or anything else. Ask about the added bonuses for booking the whole property. BEFORE BOOKING: Please read all rules & restrictions- due to some guests we had to update & add new ones. **DOGS (MAX 2 per site- select under "Extras" for each dog- $15/nightly fee each): PLEASE read ALL the rules- especially about having your dog on a leash AT ALL times while on the property. More info under the pet rule section. Thank you! Waterfall Sanctuary is a hidden gem on 17 acres, bordered on two sides by the Gifford Pinchot N F. In the heart of the Columbia River Gorge just outside Carson, Washington. It's home to a mini-farm with goats, ducks, & chickens. Deer & elk walk through the property on a fairly regular basis depending on the season, it's less than a mile walk (or short drive) to the Wind River with a swimming hole, & a short distance further to the Pacific Crest Trail. A 20-minute drive & you're at the Columbia River. An hour to the West is Portland if you are in the mood for some city life, & 35 minutes east is Hood River, a gorgeous old town with tons of charm. The closest town, Stevenson, Washington is home to shops, local restaurants, & access to the Columbia River. Also in close proximity are amazing waterfalls, trails, & National Forest roads that are close by & well maintained. No matter the season there is something to do a short distance from the property. Keep in mind that the property is very rugged except for the trails we have provided to access other parts of the property. We are as off grid & sustainable as possible- while no electricity or running water is available at the individual sites, we provide battery or solar operated lighting, a container of water for each site.

This is a great spot to set up your own tent or park a short trailer or RV (25 feet or less),car, or van. Site includes a picnic table and a firepit (when there isn't a burn ban). This site is in close proximity to Site 4 and Site 6 and perfect to pair with either if you are traveling in a group.

Site 9 is just for our RV, van, or tent campers Set away from the other campsites this offers a decent amount of privacy surrounded by trees, while being easy to pull into and back out of. Site 9 can accommodate a vehicle UP TO 50 FEET IN TOTAL LENGTH (Please know the length of your set-up. If you need a shorter space then Site 8 would be a better selection). A picnic table and umbrella are included at each site. Walking distance to the bathroom and shower building and easy access to the trails. These sites are graveled, so keep that in mind if you are thinking of setting up a tent. :)

Site 8- Quiet Roadside Camp (30ft)

Site 8 is just for our RV, van, or tent campers. Set away from the other campsites. This campsite has trees on one side and is fairly open on the side that runs along the road, while being easy to pull into and back out of. Site 8 can accommodate a vehicle UP TO 30 FEET IN TOTAL LENGTH (Please know the length of your set-up. If you need a longer space then Site 9 would be a better selection). A picnic table and umbrella are included at each site. Walking distance to the bathroom and shower building and easy access to the trails. These sites are graveled, so please keep that in mind if you are thinking of setting up a tent. :)

This site is the location of our 27-foot diameter geodesic dome! Inside you will find sleeping accommodations for up to 6 people (1 full bed, 2 twins, a twin daybed and a twin trundle, with a dining area and a living room space, plenty of room to move around inside, and a huge gorgeous window that looks out onto the trees. For the fall and winter months there is a wood stove as well. This is a good site to pair with sites #2 or #4 if you need more than one for your group. There is a picnic table and firepit outside. Our Outlook cabin has the best view on the property. Hike up a short, slightly steep trail to your very private tiny cabin, with a king-sized bed, perfect for two! A heater is already included for chilly nights and the bathroom building is right down at the bottom of the trail. Use it as a basecamp for exploring the best the PNW has to offer in year-round activities, from hiking and exploring waterfalls, and eating at the great local restaurants!

This Stargazer is the smallest tent at 13 feet in diameter and fits 3 people MAXIMUM. It's perfect for three friends or the kids. This tent had 3 twin beds. This tent is the closest one to site #1 so it's a great one to book along with #1 if you need more than one tent for you and your group. This tent has a picnic table and a fire pit. This Stargazer is the most private of all the 20 foot tents on the property and also has the best view of the valley and the sunsets, other than the cabin. As with all our sites there is a dedicated picnic table, fire pit, 1 king and 3 twin beds with bedding, pillows and extra blankets that can sleep up to 5 people, and rugs on the floor. Inside the stand to the left of the door are towels for you use and the remote for the light sits on top. A parking spot and room to turn around are also provided right next to the tent, but far enough away to not block your beautiful view. Right down the hill is a porta-potty and not too much further away is the bathroom building with a hot water shower and a toilet. We are happy to offer a full-property rate for retreats, multiple-day workshops, weddings, group camping trips, large family vacations, and more. With a capacity for 41 people this comes out to only just over $31.50 per person per night (not including taxes and fees)! The full-property rental includes everything you get when renting each individual site such as: the outside bathroom building, all the outdoor community gathering spots, the propane BBQ grill, access to all trails, access to a full indoor kitchen, indoor bathroom, indoor seating, a movie/game room, the fairy garden and so on. Propane heaters will still be available for rent for each site individually and an additional fee when a new tank is needed (this covers only our cost of the propane itself. (Heater rental fee is not needed for the cabin since the heater is included in the price, but there will be a charge for any new tanks). Please inquire about any other extras or additions you would like to include with your booking during our initial conversation about your event (this includes firewood, wifi, use of the the wood fired sauna to your package for guest use, etc.). Site 1- Lower Stargazer Tent

My friend and I stayed in the Stargazer tent (Site 1) for two nights after having to pivot from a camping trip due to a rainy forecast. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The property was unique, with goats, chickens, and ducks, and our site felt private and peaceful. There were plenty of beds and the tent was spacious enough for relaxing and playing games during a weekend of nearly nonstop rain. Tyla was responsive, and very communicative throughout the booking process and our stay. One thing that caught us by surprise was the lack of a covered outdoor cooking area. We had expected some type of awning or shelter over the platform, so cooking in the rain required a bit of creativity. There is also access to an indoor bathroom and common areas in the main house, which was nice to have available during such a rainy weekend, even though we didn't use those spaces much. Our biggest hesitation was the overall cost. The nightly rate already felt somewhat high for a tent accommodation, and after cleaning and service fees were added, the total ended up being significantly more than anticipated. We also found that many items and amenities on the property carried additional charges, which made the experience feel a bit nickel-and-dimed. Overall, it was a comfortable stay on a cute and peaceful property. We appreciated the privacy and charm, but ultimately felt the experience was overpriced for what it was.

Site 1- Lower Stargazer Tent

This campground is fantastic. Lots of trees and greenery between campsites. there is a mild amount of slopes throughout the campground, the individual sites are flat. We stayed at campsite 1 with an oversized stargazer tent. This site was so quiet even though it is in the middle of the entire campground. Aside from birds chirping (LOTS of birds) we occasionally heard chickens during the day (roosters were quiet overnight) and not much else. Beds are clean and comfy. The blankets provided are lightweight, and we slept in our sleeping under the blankets that were provided - which was plenty warm on this chilly weekend.

Site 5- BYOT (Bring Your Own Tent)

We had a wonderful experience camping at Waterfall Sanctuary. Site 5 was the perfect size for our two person crew and had just enough tree cover to have privacy from the other guests. We arrived a little under prepared and forgot blankets and Tyla was kind enough to let us borrow some for our stay. The grill area by the Cafe was super handy and the chickens kept us company while we ate! We also had some time with the goats before we left and had a great time chatting with Tyla and petting the goats. We would absolutely come stay here again!

My daughter, dog and I stayed at site 2 and had a great experience. Tyla is friendly and welcoming, we met the goats and chickens, got some farm fresh eggs and enjoyed the area. Swimming hole nearby is great, the Falls Creek Falls hike is incredible. The land is beautiful. The dome tent was nice and very clean and cozy.

We enjoyed our time on this property! The tent and sleeping accommodations were very comfortable and stylish. It was very quiet and restful. Everyone slept very well. The property is well maintained, and Tyla was accommodating of a couple things during our stay. What we found strange was there was no access to a water source that we could fill our own drinking water containers. The host offered one free gallon jug, and the rest you had to buy or bring. Our children loved the goats and chickens. It was fun to wake up to rooster crowing.

Site 1- Lower Stargazer Tent

Our stay at the Waterfall Sanctuary was wonderful. Tyla's land was beautiful, nestled close to the beautiful Panther Creek Falls, wind River, a swimming hole and pristine forest. Much more to explore, so we will have to return! Also, she has sweet animals on her land (chickens and goats) as well as a cafe with options for breakfast, coffee, popcorn, easy to make tasty meals. There is a sauna that also has red light therapy, which was such an added treat! Tyla was a wonderful and accomodating host. Highly recommend!

The forest view cabin was cozy. We went in winter so bring some extra blankets and you’ll be set. We loved the trails around the property and the goats were so cute. Tyla gave us great recommendations for local restaurants that were delicious and the little cafe in the house was a great added bonus. We also did the sauna and it was amazing.

Site 3- Meadow Dome

Overall we really liked the waterfall sanctuary. The host was very friendly, there were super cute goats and chickens, and it was in a beautiful location. There is a cute rec room to watch movies in! The only drawback we had was the individual price for every amenity. You get one free gallon of water and after that you have to pay $3 to refill. The shower is $2 for 20 minutes, and the sauna is $20/person for half a hour. The geodome is a very cool experience, but if you go in the fall or winter definitely bring a sleeping bag and lots of layers, it gets cold!

Very cool and roomy tent. Cute cafe, and the chickens were welcome guests wandering through the campsite occasionally. The only problem was one zipper was very hard to close, but we just used the other door instead.

We had so much fun. We loved the Waterfall Sanctuary. 5 girls and two dogs at the shade tree tent. Loved having the picnic table there and we made do with the fire ban in place. Next time we’ll probably rent the space 6 which has more room for chairs etc. or the star gazing tent which looked absolutely incredible. We couldn’t figure out the shower and the toilet room toilet unfortunately would splash up on us when we tried to use it so we preferred to use the porta potty (which was the cleanest porta potty I’ve ever seen). We loved having access to Tyla’s grill to cook our dinners and next to that is a propane fire pit which we didn’t utilize this time. We LOVED using the sauna on our last morning for $20 per person. That was definitely the hi-light of our trip. The goats and chickens were really cute. And our dogs loved taking walks around the property. The blankets in the tent are super thin so definitely bring your own comforters/sleeping bags. The watering hole is a 5 minute drive from home base and the coolest spot down the road. We wish we spent more time down there. It was a cold plunge. The two waterfalls nearby were very close also, like 25 minute drive and are a must see (both of them). We would stay here again. Mixed, but cozy

Site 7- Outlook Cabin

Cozy little hut with a comfy king size bed. Nice little porch with small table and chairs. The path to get to it is dirt and about 100 feet so you’ll carry your things up to the hut. Lighting is minimal so bring a headlamp. The sheets and towels are hand dyed (at first I thought they were stained 😆). The hut hadn’t had a lodger for a week and it wasn’t double checked before we arrived. There were some mouse droppings and dead bugs in the corner. I did mention this to the host on arrival. Sauna was very clean and warm. I recommend a little hose or something to cool off right outside the sauna. The shower and toilet area was a bit precarious and quite rustic- hot water wasn’t working when I tried. But the night was quiet and cozy- so mixed feelings! Interesting concept and property!

Site 8- Quiet Roadside Camp (30ft)

Tyla is an awesome host! I booked this very last minute and Tyla was very accommodating and understanding. The site was quiet, lots of natural sounds to fall asleep to. Only think I wished I was aware of beforehand is that the site was all gravel, which made pitching a tent difficult / not the most comfortable (I used a thin backpacking sleeping pad). Outside of that, the facilities were great, the cafe was a nice tough to go grab coffee in the morning, and the hiking trails nearby were great. Would definitely come back with a thicker mattress or to car camp! Thank you Tyla!

Site 5 was great for my small tent- just a cleared dirt space with a picnic table and umbrella. It had been very dry though and the space was *super* dusty from the fine dirt which got all over everything pretty quickly. Fortunately, it rained overnight on my first night there just enough to saturate and hold it down.

Animal lovers paradise

We very much enjoyed staying on this magical piece of land. The stargazer tend was beautiful inside and out and appreciated the close proximity to gorgeous waterfalls, but advise that all of them are drivable and not really walkable. Also, highly recommend stopping by a convenience store before arriving to camp so you don’t need to bother the cafe for items.

A Quiet, Welcoming Retreat

Site 1- Lower Stargazer Tent

This spot was such a peaceful place to unwind and feel surrounded by nature. Tyla was warm and welcoming, which made the stay even easier to settle into. They even shared directions to a local swimming hole that made for a lovely spot to hang out and cool off in the afternoon sun! The property itself feels calm and inviting, with plenty of beautiful tents beyond the one I stayed in that I’d be just as happy to return to. It was too hot to try the sauna this time, but I’d love to come back for that experience. Oh, and the various goats, chickens, and cats? All such characters and made this stay truly special. A lovely place to rest, recharge, and enjoy a quiet night under the trees & stars.

Site 8- Quiet Roadside Camp (30ft)

This was a nice spot with beautiful views of the sky and the ability to access a hot shower while enjoying a tent camping experience. As a last minute trip on Labor Day weekend we ended up pitching our trip in one of the RV spots, and had 0 regrets. Mind you, we also sleep on a cot these days. Anyone without a cot will want to make sure they have enough padding. Overall this site is whimsical and cute and we will come here again when we get the chance. Crickets sang us to sleep every night. Loved it!

Site 2- NEW Cozy Stargazer Tent

I loved this campsite. instructions were clear, areas were clean and they offer a lot of extras to make ur experience as easy as possible. plus the swimming hole is literally one of the most beautiful, cleanest water ive been in all summer! Will be coming back for sure!

Absolutely beautiful land. Quiet spot on a fun farm. You can see and interact with the animals and the host is super nice.

Site 3- Meadow Dome

Came here for the weekend, was given suggestions to some amazing food, swimming holes and hikes. The dome was an amazing site with lots of room inside, comfortable beds and such nice energy. Woke up morning of to leave and had a flat. I didn’t have the right tools to get my lugs off and One of the family members of the property took two hours of his own time to help us find the right tools to get car back up and on the road. I cannot be more grateful to the family of this property and the enjoyment their land has given us this weekend

Beautiful spot! We never found the waterfalls but had fun adventuring around skamania county… shave ice was a sweet and unexpected bonus!
