Enjoy stunning starry skies and relax in the shade of towering maple trees at Schoolhouse Farm, a peaceful and cozy retreat ideal for unwinding after a day exploring the beautiful Hood Canal and Olympic Peninsula. Stroll around to meet our friendly pigs, chickens, and barn cats, and keep an eye out for the frequent visits from a herd of elk and the bald eagle's nest in view. The site offers potable water and port-o-potties. Be aware that cell service and Wi-Fi can be limited. While you'll have the area around the A-frame to yourself, the 5-acre property is shared with other guests. Please respect everyone's space and observe quiet hours from 9pm to 7am.The Backyard Bluebird is a beautifully crafted wooden A-frame campsite, nestled under the shady maple trees. Inside, two twin beds can be combined to create a queen-sized bed, or roll one out onto the deck to open up the space. Bring your own sleeping bags as linens are not provided. Guests have access to a picnic table, port-o-potty, and potable water. The area around the A-frame covers about 0.2 acres, with other guest sites in view. Please note, there is no power at the A-frame. Dosewallips State Park, Rocky Brook Falls, and the Hood Canal are all within a 5-minute drive.

This place! I am on a roadtrip camping in my truck tent but when the snow hit I needed more than my tent. I found this amazing place and I am so grateful I did. The a-frame is tiny but my dog and I were beyond comfortable. I watched the snow fall from inside out the window wall. My walk during the afternoon brought me to a small heard of elk and had two bald eagles fly over my head as I walked down their road. The hosts made sure I was warm and comfortable during my short stay. I hope to one day be back enjoy some more time.

Cute A Frame with great vibes!
This property is so wonderful, if you’re considering booking it just do it!! The A Frame is so cute and a functional space. The host is really friendly and easy to communicate with. We packed plenty of blankets/layers and were cozy through the cold night. The way one side of the A Frame opens up was great for when we were cooking, one person could be chef at the picnic table while the other person lounged on the bed with wheels under the open A Frame. They provided a lantern and some small electric candles, we brought additional string lights to set a cute vibe. Porta-John was clean and having running water was really nice. The host offered us some farm fresh eggs and introduced us to the chickens and cats which was very sweet. We saw some elk roaming around the property and heard owls at night. I will definitely be booking this again and highly recommend!! Great location if you enjoy shellfishing, there is also a lovely waterfall that is only a 6 minute drive away.

Fun A-frame Tiny House
This cabin was so well designed and made efficient use of the small space with thoughtful touches like shelves above the beds and hooks by the door. It was too rainy for us, but opening the side to sleep in the open air would be so nice. The cabin sits next to a beautiful forest and feels private on the entrance side. We only wish it was tucked a bit more into the woods - the other side is open and very close to the driveway, RV campsite, house, and barn - though quiet, it took away the feeling of actually camping.

Cute little place with thoughtful c
cute little place and a nice farm with gorgeous forest all around. Got acquainted with a large herd of elk. Excellent place to stay for the night before leaving for an Olympic Park hike in the morning. Super nice owners.

Camping with animals ❤️
Had a wonderful stay!! Woke up to over 20 elk passing by, a couple friendly barn cats and the friendliest doggy’s! The beds are comfortable and the cabin was sooo cute the way it opens up toward the forest 😊

Lovely, Cute Cabin
Lovely, cute, cabin, looks just like the pictures. The side opened easily as described for lovely openness. We appreciated the wash station that also had a device charging station, which was very thoughtful. Fresh flowers and cute electronic candles and a lantern gave it extra ambiance. The one thing I would suggest to the owner is to add a screen on the window. There are some mosquitos and other bugs there at night, which would have bothered us, had we not read previous reviews of that issue and so we brought a piece of mesh screen ourselves and taped it over the window. It was a lovely stay, though, and we even had a herd of elk pass through the area, which was delightful. A great, cute, cabin, highly recommended, just needs a screen for the window :)
