🌲Your Private Basecamp with Magical Trees Close to the River. Looking for a peaceful, no-frills spot to park your van, camper, small trailer—or pitch a tent after a long hike? We’ve got you. The Rivershack Baring is a private, semi-fenced campsite tucked one quiet street from the South Fork Skykomish River in the beautiful Stevens Pass Corridor. Whether you're chasing waterfalls, hitting the trails, or just relaxing under the stars, this is the perfect rustic home base for hikers, skiers, and weekend wanderers. 🏕️ What’s Included • Gated gravel driveway space for van/small RV/trailer/tent (long rigs may not fit/make the turn) • Firepit, picnic table (BYO firewood or ask us) • Outhouse porto-potty onsite • Grills (BYO propane/charcoal clean when finished) • Wi-Fi @ trailer (spotty) • Pet-friendly (approved, well-behaved, leashed, cleaned up after NOTE back side NOT fenced) 🛠️ What to Bring • Your own water (no running water) • Extension cord (power available)** • Flashlight (dark at night) • Snow shovel in winter (road may be plowed; driveway not plowed, you may need to remove snow to open gate depending on weather) 📷 Security cameras for safety⛺ Onsite trailer is not for rent 🚫 Rules to Respect • No smoking, illegal drugs, parties, or entertaining • No disturbing wood piles or tarps • Respect quiet setting/neighbors • Remove all trash/waste • Pets must be approved in advance - never left unattended - back side NOT fenced! 💚 Kind Guests Welcome... We’ve enjoyed this property for 20+ years. Pack out all trash, tuck chairs out of sight when done, + feel free to burn dry fallen branches/help keep driveway clear. 📋 Booking Info To confirm your stay, send us: • Full name (must match ID) • # of guests/pets • Description + length of vehicle(s) • A quick note on what brings you to the area 🌲 We require valid ID matching the reservation name. Please send a snapshot of it w/this email thread within 24 hr of booking or we may cancel reservation. 📽️ We have iCloud video links available by request (tour of property, river, street)—just ask! These can help you decide if it’s a good fit. We want to set you up for success. Once booked, please check HipCamp messages for updates. Fenced on 3 sides, we allow well mannered pets as long as they are on leash cleaned up after. Paved road, usually plowed about a quarter mile off Highway 2, near the River and Baring Store. Driveway is not ploughed - road usually is. You can hear the train in the distance (we are farther away from the train than most other sites nearby.) Bring your own water and remove your potty waste and trash. Bring your own firewood. Fun things nearby: Sultan Bakery, Wallace Falls, Index, Barclay Creek, Eagle Falls, Skykomish, Iron Goat Trail, Leavenworth and more! Skiing, hiking trails, fishing! KNOW BEFORE YOU GO! We do not have water or potty. You need to bring your own water, remove your potty waste and trash. Dogs may never be left on property unattended. No illegal drugs of any kind. No parties - not a place to entertain. GREAT place to relax and chill! We have plans to finish the roof on our outdoor room, make an additional parking space, and will consider more people and 2 vehicles case by case- please inquire. FOOD: Baring Store is very close by and will re-open in the fall 2024, Rico's Pizza delivers to Baring around 4pm if they have an extra driver. , we love The Sand Bar for a glass of wine or beer - pet friendly and can sit outside. Sky River Coffee, Espresso Chalet, Sky Deli and pizza, and a few others. Best to bring your groceries with you up the mountain. Gas in Gold Bar and Skykomish. The Rivershack Baring

Such a wonderful camp site, nice and private with just a few neighbors around. It felt like living there and was so beautiful! Really close to the river and a nice central location for lots of great hikes and things to do. Michelle was super responsive, helpful, and friendly. Would definitely recommend staying here, we had a fantastic time!

The Rivershack Baring

We saw the weather report for this week and spontaneously booked a campsite nearby Skykomish River. We were only able to book on the app 24 hours in advance, but Michelle responded right away and was able to modify our reservation so we could check in the next day and enjoy the beautiful weather for our entire stay. She was also super informative regarding what to expect for our dog(s), and also gave us a much needed reminder to bring a portable toilet. Great communication from this host. The river is down the street from the campsite. There are 3 river access points that we found. One spot by the road barrier is deep and wonderful for adults to swim. It's mostly rocky and steep in the areas easily accessible from the street where the campsite is. We enjoyed exploring the island across the river. If you can manage to get your kids across, (I just set them on an intertube and swam them across instead of walking in the shallow rocky parts) keep walking to the south side of the island, there's a very secluded sandy part with very little currents and is kid friendly! This area was very dark during the night which was ideal to watch the spectacular meteor shower. We really loved the clear turquoise waters, and gorgeous night skies the most. Thanks Michelle!

Michelle is an excellent host and went above and beyond providing us with info. It’s a beautiful place and the perfect base camp for mountain activities, with a nice fire pit, plenty of space, and privacy. The river is a 5 minute walk away, and it is beautiful.

The Rivershack is great! Nice space and very close to many great hikes. The host Michelle is very communicative and helpful, and responds quickly to questions. Great access to the Skymomish River. Would definitely stay here again.
