Owned the last 100 years by only two families. The Weber family was the last to own and operate the farm for over 60 years. House was built in 1917 and the barn was added in 1925. Legend has it Bing Crosby sang in the barn himself after a long summer bucking bales in Cheney. We are close to Turnbull Wildlife Park and a few local fishing lakes: badger lake, williams lake, and amber lake. The town of Cheney is a great place to stock up and bicycle the fish lake trail.

This is for the back-in flat gravel RV ''pad" near the Windmill, with access to untested well-water spigot, 30 Amp RV-electrical hook up, and a 110 GFI outlet.   Metal fire pit, picnic table, and a flat packed dirt-grassy area for tents if needed are also at RV-Camp.(sorry, no RV dump available but some folks have used rest stops or the Maverick Fuel station in Airway heights for free dump service) Other listings at our farm property: Palouse Stargazing CarCamp would be roughly 100 yards further down the driveway near Blue Shed.  TentCamper parking is in front of Red Barn with TentCamp sites outback up in the field/pasture. -------below is info on a few local lakes and attractions----------- -TURNBULL NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE: 8.9 miles to gate entrance; nature trails and many small lakes for wildlife viewing -BADGER LAKE: 13 miles to public boat launch and restrooms; Kayaking and fishing. -WILLIAMS LAKE: public boat launch and a small resort on the lake.  Check out BUNKER'S RESORT -STEPTOE BUTTE: 36 miles one way, with some beautiful paved farm road alternate routes available from our farm. -PALOUSE FALLS: 2 hours drive via St. John, Lacrosse, Washtucna (you can actually pass through Hooper, where I grew up)  We highly recommend this route instead of going through I90 and Ritzville)

Hello HipCampers, this is our CarCamp listing: please feel free to check out our RV-Camp listings if they better serve your needswith powerour tents are welcome here too. (We have BARNS CATS! They are too! Friendly so please treat them like squirrels and don’t leave your food out! Sorry. They are great mousers and they will hunt down a ham sandwich or hot dog in minutes) Bullet points: -very LITTLE cell service/ no wifi -your tents are welcome on grass, sleeping in car/van okay on the flat driveway -one outlet available for phones or charging gear on the side of the barn. -bring dry fire wood if desired -BARN CATS! are too lovable and too friendly BUT treat like squirrels as far as food! You absolutely have our permission to SHOO them away. -ROOSTERS! we have sold off many, but it only takes one for an unwanted 4am cockle doodle doo. Bring ear plugs if desired Read Below for a BUNCH of info:  -This is to specifically reserve the BLUE-SHED area car camp (#2 on the google earth site map) (to reduce numbers, I've closed off the second ''carcamp'' site, if your group-unit needs more space, just ask at booking or reserve a TentCamp Site 1 for roughly the same price as extra guests) PRICE-The small price difference above TentCamp reflects reserved amenities for CarCampers at this specific site: picnic table, fire place, old simple charcoal grill,  cooler(no ice),mowed grass, blue farm spigot to rinse dishes, easy accessibility from your car: ten steps from parking spot. -It's like going "car camping" at a state park, concert, road trip, etc.  but without a neighbor 5 feet away.  Park at blue shed, pull out your tent and gear, and enjoy the farm setting surrounded by 1000s of acres of our neighbors wheat, peas, lentils, or barley. PARKING:  As a CarCamper, we appreciate it when possible for folks to park close to the BlueShed on gravel, right at the edge where the mowed grass and dirt/gravel meet. This will help with compaction and keep grass alive.  This will put your car about 10-30 feet from where you choose to put up your tent. (VW bus style campers, feel free to inquire about van parking)  PRIVACY: while you will be the "only" CarCamper, there may be an RV guest 100 yards away.  There is some privacy at CarCamp with blue shed, corral fence and grasses in the summer, but there really are no mature trees or enough hills for total privacy. BYO: dry wood, ice, and pop up pooper if desired (or walk 400 yards out back to dig a cat hole by the corner property line BUT it really is about 400 yards away) SHARED AMENITIES: metal wash basin, and hopefully a flat mowed meadow near pond for your yard games when we can keep up with grass. If needed, we can share our propane grill up by our shop. BOOKING TIPS: if you have more guests than 8 or want to stay longer, we can talk about that through the messenger or in person. We aren't set up for entire season camping of 3-6 months, but could accomodate for hunting or traveling nurses, etc -More info below, some repeat info: This is to reserve the mowed grass area at the BLUE SHED and currently beige shed and old red barn.  Flat grassy area for multiple tents next to shed, barn, corral, and an old white awning. Quiet, not close to highway

Beautiful, quiet location (what we could see). The farm listed as “Cheney” but it would have helped to know it is 18 miles from the highway, and also if someone had been there to show us where to park because we had no guidance and it was really dark. (Or a message about this.) We decided to leave.

Our daughter is attending EWU and we plan to travel a lot from western Washington. This was a perfect spot with electrical and water for cheap! The farm animals were a bonus. Our doggy’s loved them!

We showed up late on our motorcycles trip. Matt was very pleasant as a host. We enjoyed our 1 night of farm life. The ducks are great wandering around in the morning.

The weber farm was great for a quick overnight stop. It is an old farm with farm implements, ducks, geese, cats and a rooster. Dogs are welcome but must be on lead. Matt, the host was very nice. Surrounded by farm land it was peaceful and quiet, until the rooster said it was time to get up. It was perfect for us. If you need a safe, quiet no frills place to stay this might be it. Oh...cell service is spotty.

July RV drive - A Tale of Two Matts

I work in travel healthcare and was in need of a last minute hookup for my RV. I stopped for gas in Colfax and being late in the day on July 4th weekend - all RV park offices were closed. Headed towards Tacoma / Enumclaw, after a long couple of days driving and dry camping, I found Matt's farm shortly before sunset. Very thankful I did, though I didn't get much rest as intended because I stayed up all night watching the stars and milky way. No regrets there. He and his wife were still outside working the farm when I rolled in, and made me feel welcomed and with good conversation. The farm and land were extremely beautiful, and my dog got to stretch his legs and meet a few animals he never had before. When leaving the next day, Matt made a route suggestion which avoided the congested interstate and turned out to be the most scenic / memorable part of my drive from South Louisiana to West Washington, and for that I am extra thankful! Good things always happen when two Matts meet - I will definitely be looking this place up if ever my travels bring me back around. 10/10 - Land, farm, stars, hospitality, and route suggestion

Sure, it's place to stay, but it's also an experience! Surrounding by beautiful scenery. Immediately, I was surrounded by miniature ponies, goats, cats, ducks, chickens, cows, etc. Made good friends with the dog. An active farm, but very peaceful and relaxing and calms down at night. And the stars and meteorites were very clear! Waking up to farm sounds was a delight. I went on a very hot day, but be mindful, it gets pretty chilly at night, so be prepared for that.

The farm was magical, a little slice of heaven, and very private. The hosts were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area so much, so we booked an extra night here. Our site was located right between the miniature horses and dwarf goats, it was a level site. My husband loved going out the door to pet the miniature horses at all times of the day. The host must of noticed and brought him grooming brushes and let him in the enclosure with Pickles and Cal. The farm had goats, miniature horses, cats, ducks, geese, cows, chickens, a larger roaster, and a large St. Bernard named Bernie that loved tummy rubs. We wish this was closer to home, we would come more often to get away and relax. Make sure to visit Spokane falls while in the area.

I love camping on Matt’s land!! Nice and quiet. They leave the light on for you 😂 I’m scared of the dark so glad they leave the light on for me. The best part is the kittens!!!!! I love them! I recommend Matt’s place if your ever in the area and want the farm life with the quietness. Love how the cows moo when I get home from work. I moo back 😂

I can see how this property could be a dream site for some—it’s a working farm surrounded by beautiful fields, which I really respect. However, I feel it’s important to provide honest feedback for other campers. The setup didn’t quite match the description or the reviews for us. The campsites are very close to the house and each other, offering little privacy. There’s a lot of equipment and miscellaneous items scattered around, which gave the space a bit of a cluttered feel. It reminded us of the cartoon Courage the Cowardly Dog—a bit eerie and not quite what we expected. The hosts weren’t present, but I could see how it might feel crowded if they were. While the price was fair, it wasn’t the type of atmosphere my wife and I were looking for. Different strokes for different folks, but I wish we’d had a more accurate picture from the start.

Lovely, tranquil spot nestled amongst the fields. We slept super well and enjoyed looking up at the stars. If we find ourselves in the area in the future, we would absolutely stay at Matt’s again!

Matt has created a perfect oasis just minutes south of Spokane. I needed a space to get out of the city and recharge with some quiet. Matt was a gracious and accommodating host and the farm is welcoming and serene. On site power and water made this the perfect getaway space for me and my two pups. I fell asleep the sound of light rain and woke up to the farm coming alive. The roosters were present but not overbearing. The ducks and goats, adorable. I have nothing but great things to say and will be keeping this spot on my short list of go-to places. Their place was quiet, clean, and the host was very friendly. I was the only one there, 20 something woman, and felt perfectly comfortable to park my car and sleep. I would stop in again if I’m ever in the area!

This was an amazing experience. We went out with a buddy and spend the night enjoying the stars and the animals running around the farm. Matt was awesome and helped out grab some chairs for us and actually brought some chicken eggs from home! The pond has some ducks as well as some goldfish. The windmill is a great place to capture a picture and maybe in front of the boat next to the pond. Overall it was a great time. And I would definitely recommend!! P.s. bring warm clothes ;)

The campsite is very basic, rustic, and homey. I find it amusing at the unwarranted negative reviews. People, it is a working farm not an NPS campground. The owners work, eat, and live here the owners were also very kind and generous to us. If you need a manicured space with hookups then this isn't your spot. I will definitely be staying here again in the future. Thanks again!

Beautiful vistas— we lucked out with sunset and sunrise. The animals were fun to watch. We were less enchanted with the animal poop everywhere including the area indicated for camping.

We really enjoyed staying at the Old Weber Farm. Our kind of place. Others may not think so, but we enjoyed all the animals, especially the baby goats. It was like camping in a zoo and a museum. Loved all the old equipment: the old tractor, lawn mower and Chevy truck. And it was silent overnight. I do have to say the only think we didn’t enjoy was all the goat poop. Everywhere. We love to walk and explore and that was not possible. When we stayed, no one was there to show us around. Not a problem at all, in fact it left us free to enjoy the place at our own pace. I certainly could recommend the place, but I know there are a few that would not like it as it is. But, I say don’t change a thing except maybe the goat issue.

My friend and I were just coming through town and needed a place to set up a tent ASAP. Matt messaged me right away and it was a lovely quick stay with many welcoming guests (cats and goats) in the morning. Beautiful area and easy to locate!!

Matt’s place is fantastic for stargazing and experiencing a little bit of farm animal joy. The baby goats and kittens and cows and rooster made for a fun little morning show over breakfast. Matt knew we wanted to stargaze so had turned off most of the outdoor lights so we had incredible views of the Milky Way and meteor shower. I’ll definitely come to stay again sometime!

We loved our time. It was peaceful - no city noises or people - just animals and the outdoors. We slept without our rain fly on our tent and had a beautiful view of the stars. Our toddler LOVED the animals and made quick friends with the barn cats. We had a lovely time chatting with the owners, who were happy to introduce our son to the chickens and goats. We would definitely stay here again!
