The Landing campground offers a truly serene and private camping experience with beautiful views of the river and mountains. Campers appreciate the spacious sites, clean facilities, and the excellent communication from the host, David. The river provides both deep and shallow areas for swimming and paddleboarding, making it enjoyable for families and dogs alike. A few campers noted occasional disturbances from people passing through their sites, but overall, the location provides a peaceful retreat.

Tent camped with our dog & it was awesome! Most spots had quick river access, but eagle is beautifully tucked into the tall trees. With EPIC views of mountains while looking across the river. We were able to easily set up our tent on the tent pad, add our small hammock to trees next to fire pit, clip pup’s leash to cable line provided and park the car in the space with room to spare. Having an outhouse per site was really convenient, and it was very clean & stocked with TP, hand sanitizer, etc. David was doing some set up & maintenance around the property during our mid week stay, and he was great & helpful to chat with. Jellybean is a great camp host as well :) Though it was a bit chilly during parts of our stay, we had fun cold plunging in the river & our mini Aussie had the time of his life swimming (easy to find pockets & pools with mild current). Location is great if you need a quick supply run into Goldbar or the Espresso chalet is just up the road (might be walkable?) if you want just a small dose of civilization & coffee/snacks. Entrance was the only tricky part of this property, it is just on the west side of an older overpass, with small address markers. Entrance road was no problem with a small SUV with AWD, but I could see smaller or lower vehicles having some challenges (but ultimately possible with caution).

My daughter and I camped at The Landing at Index a couple years ago, and were eager to come back. This year we arrived on a rainy September day, so we ended up being the only campers at The Landing at Index. David was gracious enough to let us move our site to one with a tent over the cooking/table area, which made it much more comfortable for us to hang out. We took advantage of the Evergreen Sauna on the site. Amazing! We will definitely be back next year.

Loved the access to water and the space! The toilets were clean and well stocked. Definitely going to try staying here during peak summer months!
